WEST SALEM -- Mary J. Fife, 81, of West Salem, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Smithville-Western Care Center, Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with the Rev. Beryl Baum officiating. Burial will be a West Salem Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.
She was born Oct. 27, 1920, in Buffalo, N.Y., to William and Clara (Heintz) Ganig.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Albert and Rosemary Rott of Florida, Wendy Kedzierski of Dalton, Clayton Rott of Pennsylvania and Colleen and Ronald Workinger of West Salem; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, William and Delores Ganig of Buffalo, N.Y.
Lorraine Elmore
WOOSTER -- Lorraine S. Elmore, 98, 307 N. Walnut St. and formerly of Findlay, died Friday morning, Feb. 8, 2002, at West View Manor Nursing Home in Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster with the Rev. Dale Rulon officiating. Burial will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay with the Rev. John Wurster officiating.

She was born Nov. 28, 1903, in Caldwell, Wis., to Elbert Abbott and Carrie Adell (VanValin) Brown and married Alpheus N. Elmore on Oct. 28, 1926. He died in 1983.
Surviving are a son, Gene C. Elmore of Pacific Grove, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Joan Marie) Buehler of Wooster; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Nelle Fisher
DUBLIN -- Nelle Flannery Fisher, 106, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at The Convalarium at Indian Run in Dublin.
She was born Feb. 2, 1896, in Towanda, Pa., to Michael and Mary Flannery.
A daughter Anne Trupp, died previously, as well as six sisters, Winifred Flannery, Agnes Roach, Rose Holton, Ruth Ziegman, Mary Hecker, Gertrude Gross and a brother, Pete Flannery.
Surviving are a nephew, Bill Ziegman of Akron and a niece, Julie Hood of Millersburg and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in Columbus.
Mary Steiner
DALTON -- Mary Catherine Steiner, 91, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton with the Rev. Mike McHale officiating. Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 3, 1910, in Canton, to Royal and Alice (Heibner) Totten and married Reuben S. Steiner on April 6, 1928. He died previously.
Surviving are sons, Larry (Wanda) Steiner of Canal Fulton and Gary (Ginny) Steiner of Huron; daughters, Mary Helen (Dale) Eggeman of Smithville and Mildred Fahrni of Dalton; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Jacob Holmes
WOOSTER -- Jacob D. Holmes, 87, formerly of Windsor Drive and Sarasota, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

He was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Akron, to Walter and Emaline (Bostdorf) Holmes. He married Fern Gaugler on Sept. 5, 1934. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Donald (Maxine) of Shreve and LaDonna (Ron) Reed of Wooster; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and sisters, Maxine (Ed) Childers and Beatrice Heddleston, both of Akron.

ORRVILLE -- A. Doyle "Stringy" Stringfellow, 85, of 1825 Paradise Road, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital, following a six-month illness.
A memorial service will be held at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville, on Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robin Myers officiating.
There will be no calling hours.

He was born Dec. 11, 1916, in Brinkhaven, the son of Vitalis Ray and Mamie (Lanning) Stringfellow.
He was united in marriage to Marie Tyrrell. She died in March 1970. On Dec. 31, 1971 he was united in marriage to Eulala "Lolly" Stewart Austen in Orrville. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Jerry (Cathy) Stringfellow of Marion; a stepson, Vince (Ann) Austen of Wooster; a stepdaughter, Pam (Doug) Wilson of Durham, N.C.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and three nephews.
Margaret Smith
BIG PRAIRIE -- Margaret Ann Smith, 54, of Big Prairie, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002.
She was born Oct. 1, 1947, in Coshocton County, to Carl L. and Alice (Roahrig) Mulford.
She married Bryon L. Smith on Feb. 14, 1986.
She is survived by Bryon and also by sons, Mark West (Stephanie Muncy) of Wooster and Randy West (Lynn Barnett) of Orrville; brothers, Richard Mulford, Larry (Mary) Mulford, Tom (Sandy) Mulford, Raymond (Ruth) Mulford, Keith (Cindy) Mulford, all of Toledo, and Dan Mulford of Coshocton; sisters, Mary Lou (Larry) Johnson of Coshocton, Rita (Doug) Hancock of Holland, Doris (Sam) Lytle of Sturgis, Mich. and Karen (Darryl) Slabaugh of Columbia, S.C.; stepchildren, Brad (Carol) Smith of Columbus and Brent (Sandra Arnold) Smith of Wooster; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours or services. Cremation will take place.

Josiah Troyer
SUGARCREEK -- Josiah Eric Troyer, 23 months, son of Ben and Mary K. (Miller) Troyer Jr., 4386 County Road 114, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, from injuries sustained in an accident.
Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the Troyer residence with Bishop Henry C. Beachy officiating. Burial will be at Beachy Cemetery in Walnut Creek Township.

He was born March 15, 2000, in Holmes County to Ben and Mary K. (Miller) Troyer Jr.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Ben Linden Troyer III and Justin Shaun Troyer; four sisters, Jolene Renae Troyer, Jessica Lynne Troyer, Bethany Elaine Troyer and Vonda Joy Troyer, all of the home; and grandparents Ben A. and Mabel Troyer of Sugarcreek and Anna Miller of Topeka, Ind.
Rev. Richard Weirick Sr.
WEST LAFAYETTE -- Rev. Richard "Dave" Weirick Sr., 61, of West Lafayette, died Saturday morning, Feb. 9, 2002, at Louis Stokes Wade Park Veteran's Hospital in Cleveland, after a short illness.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery in Killbuck, with military rites being conducted by the Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was born May 26, 1940, in Ashland County to Henry Clark and Eva (Robinson) Weirick Sr. In March of 1984 he married Patricia Weirick and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, Vita Wallace of Orrville, Kemberley Watts of Geneva, Richard Weirick Jr. of Clark, Brenda Webster of Blanchard, Okla., and Donnia Barnes of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four stepchildren, Dennis Conrad of Virginia Beach, Va., Denise Baker of Rocky River, Becky Conrad and Timothy Conrad; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; a great-grandson; a step-great-grandson; a brother, Henry Clark Weirick Jr. of Loudonville; and his former wife, Joyce Ramsey of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Patricia Rowe
HOUSTON -- Patricia Ewing Rowe of Houston, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, of a heart attack.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sugarland, Texas.
She was born in Wooster to Robert R. and Grace E. Ewing and married James W. Rowe.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Rowe of Valparaiso, Fla., and her brother, David J. Ewing of Houston.
Irene Hurd
PLAIN CITY -- Irene Kathlyn Hurd, 84, 5125 Country Place Lane, died Friday morning, Feb. 8, 2002, at University Hospital in Columbus.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster with the Rev. John Kindsvatter, nephew of Mrs. Hurd, officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.

Robert Bowman
LOUDONVILLE -- Robert C. Bowman, 77, 710 Mill Road, Loudonville, died Friday evening, Feb. 8, 2002, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital, after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. Gary L. Pollock officiating. Burial, with military services by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville.

Mr. Bowman was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Perrysville, to Thomas and Edith (Leddy) Bowman and married Alice Bowen. She died in 1998.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Bowman of Loudonville; his daughter, Penelope Bowman of Loudonville; two stepsons, Lawrence and Mary Jane Cavinee of Mount Gilead and Thomas Cavinee of Loudonville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rex Bowman of Glasgo, Ky., Max Bowman of Mount Gilead and Curtis Bowman of Loudonville; and two sisters, Mildred Miller of Loudonville and Norma Jean DeMaitre of Ashland.

KILLBUCK -- Mae J. Klepatzki, 88, of U.S. Route 62, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 9, 2002, at her home, after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Cleveland to Adam and Pauline (Nowicka) Jasky. On July 2, 1932, she married Paul Klepatzki. He died in 1986.
Surviving are a son, Ronald Sr. and his wife, Connie Klepatzki of Killbuck; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Gary Dunn
STOW -- Gary L. Dunn, of Stow, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, after a long illness.
He was born in Wooster .
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ruth; daughter, Kristen (Greg) Peeler of Cuyahoga Falls; a sister, Barrie Jill of Nevada and his stepmother, Ferne Dunn of Nevada.
