MEDINA -- Michael Lee McCrary, 37, of Eastlake Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Harborside Health Care Center in Westlake, after a courageous fight with cancer.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Donald Kuntz officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 6-9 at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 12, 1964, in Ashland, to Merlin "Mac" and Nancy Jane (Williams) McCrary.
Surviving are his father of Medina; a sister, Karen (Michael) Hankins of Wooster; a niece, Kari (Brent) Murray of Sterling and a nephew, Brian (Heather) Walton of Kidron; and a great-niece and great-nephews, Zachary, Hailee, Mitchell, Logan and Colton.
Elizabeth Norton
WOOSTER -- Elizabeth (Davis) Norton, 92, of Swanson Boulevard, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Smithville-Western Care Center, Wooster.
There will be no services or calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.
She was born Dec. 21, 1909, in Clearfield, Pa., to Thomas and Bertina (Gaberalson) Davis and married Ralph Norton. He died in 1992.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn (Robert) Blair of Wooster; grandchildren, Jennifer Grady of Chicago, Jessica Kiper of Shreve and J. Luke Blair of San Francisco; and six great-grandchildren.
Becky Oates
CANTON -- Becky G. Oates, a resident of Canton, formerly of Orrville, passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 12, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center, Canton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4940 W. Tuscarawas St., with Father Joseph Ruggieri as celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Funeral procession will begin at the church.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Reed Funeral Home in Canton.
She was born in Walls, Pa., to Loren and Fanny (Diebler) Brown and married John L. Oates. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 40 years, are a son, Dan McGuire of Newcomerstown; a granddaughter, Mary and her children, Megan, Max and Jack; a niece and nephew, Sharon and Chuck Leopold, both of Orrville and a niece, Mary Louise McCullouch of Wooster. There are several other nieces and nephews surviving.
Walter Lee
JEROMESVILLE -- Walter M. Lee, 70, 1529 state Route 89, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 12, 2002, at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland.
Private family services will be held today (Friday) at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville. The Rev. Kevin Conroy will officiate.
There will be no calling hours.
He was born June 15, 1931, in Liverpool, England to William and Mary (Fitzpatrick) Lee and married Catherine A. Deane on Dec. 22, 1964, in Cleveland. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Jason (Sarah) Lee of San Rafael, Calif., and Adam (Cheryl) Lee of Lakewood; and a granddaughter.
Vernon Gibson
ORRVILLE -- Vernon Ray Gibson, 34, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Brenn-Field Nursing Home in Orrville.
Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Wells Funeral Home in Stanton, Ky. The Rev. Kenneth McClain officiated. Burial was at Crabtree Cemetery.
He was born May 31, 1967, in Middletown to Arnold B. and Nancy Louise (Coldiron) Gibson.
Surviving are his father of Carlisle; and a brother, David (Michelle) Gibson of Orrville.
James Baehr
SAN FRANCISCO -- James H. "Jim" Baehr, 51, of San Francisco died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial of the cremains will be at the convenience of the family.

He was born Aug. 5, 1950, to Wayne and Betty (Kimberlin) Baehr.
Surviving are his mother of Orrville; a sister, Kathy (Ken) Mast of Wooster; a brother, Michael (Helen) Baehr of Marlborough, Conn.; nieces, Jennifer and Stephanie Mast, both of Wooster, Jeannine (Kevin) Wiese of Haddam, Conn.; a nephew, Robert Baehr of Marlborough, Conn.; and a close friend, T. Gailard McKee
FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Gailard G. "Sam" McKee, 98, of Fort Pierce, Fla., formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, in Fort Pierce, Fla., after a short illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Malcolm Peel officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
He was born Nov. 21, 1903, in Wooster to John Wesley and Mary E. (Sidle) McKee.
Surviving are children, David McKee of Arizona, Howard "Jerry" Watson and Barbara Watson, both of Akron, and Marilyn Rice of North Ridgeville; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
His wives, Eva (Criss) McKee and Elizabeth Watson McKee, died previously.
Grace Robinson
ALLEGAN, Mich. -- Grace E. Robinson, 70, of Allegan, Mich., formerly of Rittman, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rittman Cemetery, with the Rev. John Castle officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Local arrangements are being handled by Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman.

She was born July 1, 1931, in Genoa, W.Va., to Jay and Mary Lou (Berry) Workman and married Pearley Robinson. He died in 1980.

WOOSTER -- Elmer Wilson "Bill" Franks, 84, 3140 W. Old Lincoln Way, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Heritage Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Wooster, where he had been a patient since October 2001.

DENVER, Pa. -- Jack R. Schmidt, 53, of Denver, Pa., formerly of Orrville, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at his home after a brief illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roseboro Funeral Home in Denver, Pa. Burial will be at Mallinger Cemetery in Scheoneck, Pa.

He was born Feb. 13, 1949, in Orrville to Robert F. and Arlene (Kleinsmith) Schmidt and married Vickie Hainley on Feb. 9, 2002. She survives.

Rosalie Franks
JEROMESVILLE -- Rosalie Franks, 77, 61 E. Main St., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Samaritan Regional Health System.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Beryl Baum officiating. Burial will be at Jeromesville Cemetery.

She was born March 25, 1924, in Jeromesville to Paul Z. and Edna (Myers) Funk and married James W. Franks on June 10, 1944. He survives.

RADFORD, Va. -- Virginia (Hart) Tomassetti, 81, of Radford, Va., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at New River Valley Medical Center.
Memorial Mass will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Radford, Va., with Father Robert Judge officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va.

MILLERSBURG -- Edna Kline, 63, 4289 County Road 207, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at her home following a battle with cancer.
Services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Nelson Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Kline Cemetery, Berlin Township, Holmes County.

MOUNT VERNON -- Bessie I. Sovine, 88, 13221 Upper Fredericktown Road, Mount Vernon, and formerly of Perrysville, died Saturday morning, Feb. 16, 2002, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon after a two-week illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville with the Rev. Howard Burnett officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Perrysville.

She was born July 25, 1913, in Newville to Francis William and Clara Louise (Godfield) Smith and married Otto Sovine. He died in 1962.
Surviving are a son, Donald (Kitty) Sovine of Perrysville; a stepdaughter, Betty (Bob) Spencer of Ashland; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Smith of Fredericktown; and a sister, Ellen Moore of Mount Vernon.

RITTMAN -- Rodney A. Coffman Sr., 36, 23 N. Seneca, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital following an accident at his home.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bret A. Deffenbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery.
