MILLERSBURG -- Mildred B. Sutherland, 91, of Millersburg, died Saturday afternoon, Sept. 4, 1999, at Sunset View Nursing Home in Millersburg, after an extended illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Wendell Beal officiating. Burial will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery, Killbuck.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 17, 1908 near Glenmont in Holmes County, to John and Delpha Marcella (Williams) Shank and married Kenneth Richard Sutherland. He died previously.
Surviving are children, Juanita J. Chaney and Richard D. Sutherland, both of Millersburg, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
'Dick' Vodika Sr.
ORRVILLE -- Richard J. "Dick" Vodika Sr., 72, 1834 Meadow Lane, died Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 1999, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a long illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Orrville Grace Brethren Church in Orrville, with Pastor Dan Najimian officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, where military rites will be conducted.
Friends may call Monday from 6-9 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, or one hour prior to the services at the church.

He was born May 2, 1927 in Cleveland to Joseph and Mary (Zajac) Vodika and married May E. Metsker on Dec. 11, 1948 in Cleveland. She survives.
Other survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph R. Vodika of Spokane, Wash., Dave M. and Stevie Vodika of Orrville, Richard J. "Rick" Vodika Jr. of Sterling and Jim L. and Susan Vodika of Tempe, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jason, Tina, Justin, Trey, Michael, Jody and Leah Vodika, all of Orrville, Jennifer Vodika of Nevada, and Stephanie Brady of Arizona; great-granddaughters, Natalie Carol Vodika of Orrville and Mercedes Hernandez of Arizona; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Pat Vodika of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a sister, Josephine Kohut of Las Vegas, Nev.
Leora Zody
PERRYSVILLE -- Leora J. Zody, 82, 950 State Route 95, died Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 1999, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville, after a long illness.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Lor Breyley officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville.
Friends may call today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 17, 1916 in Knox County to Walter and Mildred (Miller) Gessling and married Cooney Zody on April 8, 1939. He died July 20, 1999.
Surviving are daughters, Connie Kittle of Wooster and Linda Zody and her friend, Bruce Eich, of Perrysville; grandchildren, Lori Kittle of Columbus, Bryan Sprang of Akron and Terri Sprang of Lexington; a brother, Morris Gessling of Columbus; sisters, Marian Edgar of Mansfield, Donna Yanosheck of Columbus and Jean Holt of Brinkhaven; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Gessling of Mansfield.
John Vasichko
WOOSTER -- John J. Vasichko, 85, of Wooster, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at West View Manor Nursing Center, Wooster.
Local private family services will be held at a later date. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery in Columbus. Father Edward F. Trenor will officiate.
Friends may call a half-hour prior to the Mass at the Chapel.
Arrangements are being handled by Custer Funeral Home, Wooster.
He was born March 5, 1914 in Streator, Ill., to Lucas and Anna (Bereznak) Vasichko and married Louise C. Shust on Oct. 12, 1940 in Kentucky. She died in September 1988.
Surviving are a son, John D. Vasichko and his wife, Mary J., of Wooster; a son-in-law, Donald W. Loos of Columbus; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Vasichko of LaMarque, Texas; and sisters, Mary Fialko, Irene Salz and Frances Wiggett, all of Streator, Ill.

BALTIC -- Levi Y. Raber, 81, 33578 Township Road 231, died Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 1999, at his home after a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Andy E. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery, Crawford Township, Coshocton County.

He was born Feb. 21, 1918 in Holmes County to Jonathan and Fannie (Yoder) Raber and married Amanda Troyer. She died May 28, 1976.

WOOSTER -- Melody Keatley Thomas, 44, of West Liberty Street, died Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 1999, at the Cleveland Clinic from complications with leukemia.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Jerry Niswander officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
There will be no calling hours. Murray Funeral Home in Creston, is handling arrangements.

SUGARCREEK -- James R. Showers, 72, 324 W. Main St., died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Union Hospital, after an apparent heart attack.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Carlan Helgeson officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek, where military rites will be conducted by the Sugarcreek American Legion.

He was born Nov. 4, 1926 in Santoy to Denzil and Miriah (Hodgson) Showers and married Shirley Lahm on Nov. 9, 1945. She survives.

RITTMAN -- Margaret Marie O'Brien, 71, of Rittman, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at her residence.
