Chester Jacobs
WEST SALEM -- Chester H. Jacobs, 65, of West Salem, died Wednesday, July 28, at his home.
Services will be Friday at noon at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with the Rev. Carl Uhler officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
He was born July 1, 1934 in West Salem to Harv and Esther (Heilman) Jacobs and was married to Mary Jacobs. She died in 1998.
Surviving are children and their spouses, William and Margie Jacobs of West Salem and Tami and Scott Fern of Rittman; four grandchildren; sisters, Opal Knox and Edna Kessler, both of Lodi and Helen Cook of Wooster; and a brother, Wayne Jacobs of Wooster.

Brenda Weaver
TAMPA, Fla. -- Brenda (Taylor) Weaver, 37, 16808 Landings Point Lane, died Tuesday morning, July 27, 1999, at University Community Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Stull officiating.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 10, 1961 in Wooster to Theodore and Dorothy (Gerber) Taylor and married Terry Weaver. He survives.
Other survivors include her parents of Wooster; a sister, Deborah Graziana of Land O Lakes, Fla.; and a brother Ronald Taylor of Wooster.

Eunice Lee
ORRVILLE -- Eunice C. Lee, 82, of Orrville, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at Rittman Rehabilitation Center, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Seville, with the Rev. Jim McCommas officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville.
Friends may call Friday from 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Orrville Meals on Wheels.
She was born Aug. 8, 1916 in Akron to Thomas and Ethel (Trout) Pursley and married Clifford F. Lee. He died previously.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Alta C. and Acey Baker of Seville, Kathy C. Bartram of Orrville, Shirley and Victor Stewart of Malta and Richard F. Lee of Wooster; a stepson, Robert E. Lee of Akron; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nelson Reed
DOYLESTOWN -- Nelson A. Reed, 80, of Doylestown, passed away Saturday, July 24, 1999, surrounded by his loving family.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with the Rev. Lynn Garth officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, where a service will be held at 8 p.m. by the Lions.
Memorial contributions may be made to Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown 44230; or Doylestown Health Care Center Activities Department, 95 Black Drive, Doylestown 44230.
He was born June 1, 1919 in Easton to Jacob and Flossie (Swagler) Reed and married Alyce H. Irby on Nov. 29, 1947. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Richard and Nancy Reed of Wooster, Kenneth and Tracy Reed and Minda and Daniel Garbinsky, all of Akron; grandsons, Robert and Christopher Reed of Wooster and Daniel and Andrew Garbinsky of Akron; brother-in-laws and their spouses, James and Faye Irby of Florida, and Jerry and Nancy Irby of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Carol Cook and her husband, James, of Norton and Dona Scarito of Clinton; nieces and nephews of the Weahry family in the Creston area; and his "family" at Doylestown Health Care Center, where he was a resident for 12 years.

Allen Henthorne
NORTH LAWRENCE -- Allen G. Henthorne, 62, of North Lawrence, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Massillon Community Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton, with the Rev. Dan Hostetler officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 4, 1936 in Massillon to Demming and Leola (McVay) Henthorne and married Ruth Gilmore on July 7, 1958 She survives.
Other survivors include sons, John Henthorne of Massillon and Allen Henthorne and his wife, Debra, of Wooster; two grandchildren; brothers and their wives, Demming and Lanna Henthorne Jr. of North Lawrence, Melvin and Beverly Henthorne of Massillon and Eric Henthorne of Wooster; sisters and their husbands, Bessie and Dale Gilmore of Clarington, Shirley and Roy Mellott and Stella and Dave Forshay, all of North Lawrence.

Ina Mowry
MILLERSBURG -- Ina I. Mowry, 81, of Millersburg, died Sunday morning, July 25, 1999, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. David Carrick officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1917 in Millersburg to Frank and Elizabeth (Beall) Carnahan and married Paul R. Mowry on June 12, 1936. He died Jan. 17, 1981.
Surviving are children, Dennis Mowry and Diane McCluggage, both of Millersburg; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Barkman of Lakeland, Fla.

James Guthrie
COSHOCTON -- James Allen Guthrie, 65, 1534 Trade Ave., died Saturday evening, July 24, 1999, at his home after a short illness.
Memorial services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Killbuck First Church of Christ, with the Rev. John Damron officiating. Burial will be at Blissfield Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests contributions be made to Coshocton County Hospice; or to the American Cancer Society.
Surviving are his mother of Millersburg; brothers and their wives, Ed and Jean Guthrie of Canton, Gordon and Mary Jane Guthrie of Sugarcreek, Tom and Linda Guthrie of Wooster, Gary and Carol Guthrie of Millersburg and John and Connie Guthrie of Smithville; a sister, Annabelle Vergon of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a special friend, Wilma J. Conkle of Coshocton.

David Hill
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- David A. Hill, 71, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Rittman, died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with the Rev. Richard A. Lapehn officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat For Humanity, 936 Broadway St., Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29577.
Surviving are sons, Mark Hill of Rittman and Gary Hill of Wadsworth; four grandchildren; brothers, Robert J. Hill of Stafford, Va., and Alan S. Hill of Hawaii; and a special friend, Mary Lou Miller of Myrtle Beach, S.C., with whom he had made his home.

David Derr
LOUDONVILLE -- David A. Derr, 47, 204 S. Water St., died Saturday morning, July 24, 1999, at Cleveland Clinic, after a two-month illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Lor Breyley officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville, where military rites will be conducted by Perrysville Veterans of Foreign Wars and Loudonville American Legion.
Friends may call tonight (Monday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
Surviving are a son, David Allen Derr Jr. of South Carolina, a grandson; brothers, Robert Derr of Perrysville, Donald and Terry Derr, both of Ashland; sisters, Linda Derr and Susan Haft, both of Ashland; and a special friend, Trisha Fisher of Loudonville, with whom he had made his home.

Miriam Ell
LOUDONVILLE -- Miriam Alice Ell, 68, a resident of Loudonville Nursing Home for more than 30 years, died Saturday evening, July 24, 1999, at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, after a five-day illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. John Miller officiating. Burial will be at Ellet Cemetery in Akron.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Surviving is a sister, Jane Easterling of Greenville, Calif.

Edna Schmidt
PORTAGE LAKES -- Edna M. Schmidt, 81, of Portage Lakes, formerly of Doylestown, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Hospice Care Center.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with Wyatt and Kay Patterson officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Doylestown.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Weaver Workshop, 89 E. Howe Road, Tallmadge 44278.
She was born May 8, 1918 in Doylestown to Melvin and Delpha (Wolfe) Boley and married Lewis H. Schmidt. He died in 1998.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Denny and Pat Schmidt of North Carolina, David L. Schmidt and Diane and Ray Tetwiler, all of Akron; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Joni Yoder
FREDERICKSBURG -- Joni A. Yoder, 85, 6860 Salt Creek Road, died this morning, July 26, 1999, at his home.
Services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Henry Miller officiating. Burial will be at Hershberger Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Wayne County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence.
Arrangements are being handled by Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
He was born July 28, 1913 in Holmes County to Abe C. and Lovina (Troyer) Yoder and married Lizzie Ann Mast in March of 1936. She died Dec. 5, 1969. On Nov. 2, 1971, he married Sarah Schlabach. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Abe Yoder of Gallipolis, Roman Yoder of the home, Mrs. Dan J.J. (Mattie) Schlabach and Mrs. Levi J.D. (Ada) Miller, both of Fredericksburg; 56 grandchildren; 150 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Wengerd of Big Prairie and Mrs. Levi J.P. (Amanda) Miller of Millersburg.

Albin Budash
VENICE, Fla. -- Albin Budash, 80, 744 White Pintree Road, died Wednesday, July 21, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be at a later date in Chicago. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Chicago. Arrangements are being handled by Roberts Funeral Home. He married Lois Jeanne Gau on Feb. 15, 1947. She died in 1997. Surviving are two children, Albin Budash Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y. and Mrs. Mark (Irene) Weaver of Wooster; a granddaughter; two brothers, Benny Badeusz of Chicago, Ill. and Claude Badeusz of St. Louis, Mo. and a sister, Alice Pasevic of St. Joseph, Ill.

Myra Jones
DUNDEE -- Myra J. Jones, 67, Pleasant Home Road, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with the Rev. Duane Wilbur officiating. Burial will be at Dundee Cemetery. Friends may call today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Surviving are three sons, Robert F. (Peggy) Jones Jr. of Dundee, Wm. H. Jones of Texas, Jay Allen Jones of Brewster; three daughters, Mrs. Randy (Christina) Dietrich of Dover, Mrs. Norman (Corrina J.) Kirkpatrick and Catherina L. Boreman, both of Dundee; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Furris of Wooster.

Amanda Hershberger
DUNDEE -- Amanda Hershberger, 91, 1470 Township Road 661, died early this morning, July 22, 1999, at her home after a period of declining health. Services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Jacob J.J. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Hershberger Cemetery, Wayne Township, Tuscarawas County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton. She was born Nov. 13, 1907 in Holmes County to Abe J. and Sarah (Beachy) Mast and married Joe L. Hershberger on Dec. 5, 1929. He died Oct. 11, 1998. Surviving are children and their spouses, Abe and Gertie Hershberger, Vernon Hershberger and Katie and Harry Hostetler, all of Dundee; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Noah Mast of Dundee.

Raymond Fast
JEROMESVILLE -- Raymond E. Fast, 78, 2 Boyd Drive, died Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 1999, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Jeromesville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Art Tobergte Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Jeromesville Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville. Memorial contributions may be made to Jeromesville United Methodist Church. He was born April 10, 1921 in Ashland County to Cleo and Maude (Cross) Fast and married Emily Franks on April 17, 1943. She survives. Other survivors include children and their spouses, Judy and Chris Akroyd of England, and Steven and Rebecca Fast of Ashland; and three grandchildren.

Russell Tucker Sr.
ORRVILLE -- Russell Tucker Sr., 73, 614 W. Fike Ave., died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at his residence after a long illness. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Salem Mennonite Church near Wooster, with the Rev. Raul Tadeo and Richard Ross officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691. He was born April 1, 1926 in Calhoun County, W.Va., to Edward and Susie (Nicholas) Tucker and married Betty Davis on May 24, 1957 in Millstone, W.Va. She survives. Other survivors include children and their spouses, Russell and Eloise Tucker of Massillon, Robert and Tia Lisa Tucker and Berneda Killinger, all of Marshallville, Randy and Missie Tucker, Susie and Jeff Schroeder and Sheila and Michael Crosland, all of Orrville and Sharon and Mark York of Groton, Vt.; 18 grandchildren; brothers and their wives, Homer and Bonnie Tucker of Sandridge, W.Va., Euell and Freda Tucker of Arnoldsburg, W.Va., Ottice and Wavelene Tucker of Brewster and Paul and Kathy Tucker of Navarre; and sisters, Pearl Shock of Beach City and Ruby McCumbers and her husband, Harry, of Palestine, W.Va.

PERRYSVILLE -- Conrad "Cooney" Zody, 85, 950 State Route 95, died Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 1999, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center, after a brief illness. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Howard Burnett officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call today (Thursday) from 3-5 and 7-9 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Green-Perrysville Fire Department, in care of Glenn Atkinson, 162 W. 2nd St., Perrysville 44864. He was born Dec. 7, 1913 in Richland County to Henry and Elzena (Mechlem) Zody and married Leora Gessling on April 8, 1939. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Connie Kittle of Wooster and Linda Zody of Perrysville; grandchildren, Lori Kittle of Columbus, Bryan Sprang of Akron and Terri Sprang of Lexington; and a sister, Myrtle Browning of Perrysville.

Sadie Miller
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Sadie A. Miller, 93, of Chattanooga, Tenn., formerly of Millersburg, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at a health care home. Services were held this morning (Thursday) at 11:30 at West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home in Tennessee, with the Rev. Dr. Gary Carver officiating. Local graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Berlin Township Cemetery, with the Rev. Wendell Beal officiating. There will be no local calling hours. Surviving are children, Dorothy Grubbs of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Larry Miller of East Peoria, Ill.; stepchildren, Blanch Schmucker, Esther Burkey, Mary McClelland, Arthur and Orin Miller, all of Millersburg and Janet Litwiller of Bloomington, Ill.; and four grandchildren. Her husbands, Robert A. Miller and D. Frank Miller, died previously.
