STRONGSVILLE -- Samuel David Henkels, 16-month-old son of John A. and Suzanne G. (Deibel) Henkels, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was the grandson of Curtis and Marilyn Deibel of Smithville.
Services will be held at Strongsville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ronald Mowery officiating. Burial will be at Strongsville Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Jardine Funeral Home, 14701 Pearl Road, Strongsville.

WOOSTER -- Elwood E. "Wimp" Jones, 71, 3348 Bayberry Cove, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at his home.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Wooster Cemetery, where burial will take place. The Rev. George Michel will officiate.
There will be no calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, is handling arrangements.

Clayton Orr
APPLE CREEK -- Clayton L. Orr, 78, formerly of Dogwood Circle, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville.
Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Roy V. Wagner officiating. Burial will be at Apple Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services at the church.

He was born Feb. 10, 1921 in Apple Creek to Ross J. and Ethel M. (Hofacre) Orr and was married to Mabel M. (Schnell) Orr for 50 years. She died May 7, 1994.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Susan and William Bleyle of Tiffin, Jan and Jim Hughes of Wooster, Jim and Suzy Orr of Apple Creek and Gary and Barbara Orr of Hilliard; grandchildren, Christy Frank, Greg Bleyle, Jennifer Greathouse, Jon, Becca, Ashlee and Mandy Orr, Patrick, Nathan and Marcus Hughes; a stepgranddaughter, Alyssa Hurt; great-grandchildren, Megan and Jason Orr and Jacob and Alison Greathouse; brothers, Delno D., Alonzo D., William and Harlan R. Orr, and a sister, Norma Jean Knoble, all of Apple Creek.
Lucille Paris
CANTON -- Lucille (Onesto) Paris, 93, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, after an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canton, with Monsignor John C. Finnigan as celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in the Onesto Family plot.
Friends may call one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Rossi Funeral Home in Canton.

Ada Mullet
MOUNT VERNON -- Ada P. Mullet, 88, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at North-Dilley Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Terry Ruther officiating. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

She was born Feb. 19, 1911 in Killbuck to Clarence and Hazel (Miller) Carpenter and married George Owen Mullet. He died in 1971.
Surviving are children, George Mullet of Howard, Merwyn Mullet of Mount Vernon and Shirley Haudenschild of Loudonville; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marge Wince of Louisville.
Elda McClanahan
ORRVILLE -- Elda S. McClanahan, 81, formerly of 425 OrrVilla Drive, died Saturday morning, Aug. 14, 1999, at Lincoln Manor in Orrville, after a long period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Dalton to Noah J. and Anna (Steiner) Bixler and married Robert V. McClanahan on July 6, 1957, in New Philadelphia. He died July 3, 1984.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs. George (Goldie) Breneman of Kidron and Virginia Henry of Wooster; and many nephews and nieces.
Carole Wheland
SPENCER -- Carole J. Wheland, 67, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at her home.
She was the mother of Patricia Veverka of Lodi and mother and mother-in-law of Mark and Samantha Wheland of West Salem.
Memorial services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Spencer, with the Rev. George Swartzfager and Vicar Dee Miklos officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Parker & Son Funeral Home in Spencer is handling arrangements.

Ruth Ann Deeter
ASHLAND -- Ruth Ann Deeter, 39, of Ashland, formerly of West Salem, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was the sister of Jo Gallatin of Lodi.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi, with Jerry Arman officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Homerville.

She was born April 27, 1960 in Oberlin to Richard and Irene (Smith) Gallatin and married Mark Deeter on Aug. 24, 1984. He survives.

Ruth Munger
WOOSTER -- Ruth E. Munger, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was the wife of Kenosha attorney, Earle Munger. He died previously.
Surviving are a son, Bill Munger and daughter-in-law, Linda Hults of Wooster and a daughter, Jean Ainsworth Hartnek and her husband, Lee Hartnek of Tallahassee, Fla.; a granddaughter, Martha Rollin-Soder of Cincinnati and a grandson, Captain Paul Rollin of Pensacola, Fla.; and two great-grandsons of Cincinnati.
Virgil Banfield
WADSWORTH -- Virgil Clyde Banfield, 74, of Wadsworth, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Hospice Care Center in Copley.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Hillcrest Chapel, corner of Acme and Seville Roads, Wadsworth, with the Rev. Roger Loomis officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

He was born March 19, 1925 in Huntington, W.Va., to Virgil and Sadie (Romans) Banfield and married Myrtie Wellman on Oct. 25, 1946. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children and their spouses, Roger and Francene Banfield and Rickey and Linda Banfield; grandchildren, Renee and Rockey; a brother, Louis Banfield; and a sister, Annalee Henthorn.
Virginia Barnard
MILTON, Fla. -- Virginia Alice Barnard, 78, of Milton, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at a local hospital.
Funeral Mass was held this morning (Saturday) at 10 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Thom Crandall, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church officiating. Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Olmsted Falls.
Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m.-noon at Baker Funeral Home in Berea.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Roger M. Barnard of Milton, Fla.; children, Rick Barnard and his wife, Peggy, of Milton, Fla., and Barbara Ames of Brunswick; grand children, Jennifer Godwin (Ricky), Jeffrey Barnard, Kathy, Carol and Becky Ames; and a brother, Bob Creter of Strongsville.

RUSHVILLE -- Jewell P. Adkins, 69, of Rushville, formerly of Wooster, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at her residence.

Verda Shafer
ASHLAND -- Verda E. Shafer, 82, 23 Terrace Drive, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Rhoda Kay McKown of Perrysville.
She was the sister of Lois Mullen and Richard E. Frontz, both of Wooster.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, with the Rev. Sanford Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville.

Other survivors include a son, Frank R. Shafer Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandsons; three step-grandchildren; and a brother, William E. Frontz of Palacios, Texas.
Dorothy Artman
ALBION, Pa. -- Dorothy M. Artman, 78, of Albion, Pa. and formerly of Winesburg, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, of ovarian cancer.
Her body has been cremated and there will be no calling hours or service. Burial of the ashes will be at the convenience of the family in Westlawn Cemetery in Winesburg.
Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.

She married Ross W. Artman on Sept. 4, 1942,. He died March 4, 1996.

BARBERTON -- Rev. Kenneth J. Hartley, 85, of Barberton, died Thursday, August 12, 1999.
