Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with the Rev. Welton Stein officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek. Friends may call Sunday from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Gretchen Ludwick of Coshocton; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Walter Immel of Dundee and Garrison Immel of Sugarcreek and a sister, Mrs. Russell (Esther) Hershberger of Sugarcreek.

WESTFIELD CENTER -- Walter F. Rebman, 85, of Westfield Center, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 19, at Westview Manor Nursing Home, following a period of declining health. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Leroy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Black officiating. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Nancy Rebman of Ashland, a son, Richard of Wooster, a daughter, Faye Vacha of Kidron and daughter and son-in-law, Faith Elaine and Gary Emerson of Penfield; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Harold Rebman of Cleveland.

CRESTON -- Robert W. Reynolds, 89, 227 Coulter St., died Thursday evening, Feb. 19, at Wooster Community Hospital, following a period of declining health. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Creston Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James McCurdy officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Cemetery. Surviving are a stepson, Robert Hart of Creston; two sisters, Ruby Bauman of Rittman and Mrs. Jack (Mary) Kerstetter of West Salem and nieces and nephews.

DALTON -- Brian T. Slates, 14, of Dalton, died Friday, Feb. 20, at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 18600 Davis Road, Dalton, with the Rev. Timothy Hull officiating. Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton and Monday for one hour before the service at the church. WOOSTER -- Vera L. Kaufman, 1552 N. Honeytown Road, Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 19, 1998, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Alan E. Nathan officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreve. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Charles Geib of Shreve; grandchildren, Stephanie and Dale Stein, Melissa Baker and Jody and Dennis Wells of Shreve and Lynne and Mark Geib of Wooster, Michelle and James Summer of San Jose, Calif., Robin and Richard Rokisky of Dover, Kira and Dennis Stocker of Berea; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Adam Stein, Brittany and Avery Baker, Mallory and Wade Wells, Robert and Thomas Summer, Anastasia Rokisky and Katherine and William Stocker. WOOSTER -- Walter A. Eason, 70, 310 Elm St., Wooster, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998 at Glendora Health Care Center. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Stull officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 6:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Ven-Care Hospice, 24 W. 3rd St., Suite 112, Mansfield 44902 in his memory. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Gwin Eason, whom he married June 20, 1948; two sons, Dennis and Douglas, both of the home; daughter-in-law, Melody Eason of Wooster; one grandchild and one great-grandchild and a sister, Geneva Baker of Wooster.

Else Sittel
BALTIC -- Else Aurelie Sittel, 94, formerly of Washington, D.C. and New York City and a resident of Baltic County Manor since 1989, died Friday, Feb. 20, at Baltic Country Manor after an extended illness. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Granview Cemetery in Strasburg with the Rev. David Hammel officiating. Her body has been cremated. Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek. Surviving are a nephew, Walter Sittel of Fresno and other nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Bishop Dan Yoder
BALTIC -- Bishop Dan G. Yoder, 80, 2110 County Road 600, died Friday, Feb. 20, at his residence after an extended illness. Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the Yoder residence with Bishop Delbert J. Erb officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery in Clark Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime after noon today (Saturday) at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Eli S. (Mattie) Miller of Baltic; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Abe G. Yoder of Millersburg and two sisters, Lizzie Raber of Baltic and Mrs. Eli (Amanda) Miller of Millersburg.

Beulah Bell
MILLERSBURG -- Beulah M. Bell, 82, of Millersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 14, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Surviving are a son and his wife, Charles and Linda McBride of Millersburg; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Katherine Shoup
HOLMESVILLE -- Katherine B. Reidenbach Shoup, 92, formerly of Holmesville, died Friday evening, Feb. 20, at Horn Nursing Home in Wooster, after an extended illness. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Edward Balint officiating. Burial will be at Fryburg Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Plain Lutheran Cemetery; or to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691. Surviving are children, Robert P. Reidenbach of Canton, Dorothy Napier of Wellington and Sharleen Sigler of Wooster; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dessie Chapman of Orange, Texas.

Rev. Arnold Olsen
MULBERRY, Fla. -- The Rev. Arnold Peter Olsen, 81, 3485 Lark Lane, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, in Lakeland, Fla. He was the father of the Rev. Stephen P. Olsen of Smithville. Services were held Saturday morning, Feb. 21, at Shepherd Road Baptist Church in Mulberry, Fla. Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home-Southside handled arrangements. Surviving in addition to his son are two other children, Philip I. Olsen of Elyria and Susan D. Moore of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald K. Olsen of Mulberry, Fla.

Faye Simmons
LOUDONVILLE -- Faye H. Simmons, 90, 803 S. Mount Vernon Ave., died Friday, Feb. 20, at her home. Services will be Tuesday at 11 am. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Howard Horton officiating. Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Butler. Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 124 S. Market St., Loudonville 44842. Surviving are sisters, Sylvia VanScoder and Chloe Hay, both of Perrysville and Alma Nell of Loudonville.

WOOSTER -- Elizabeth Anna Parker, 97, formerly of 317 S. Walnut St., Wooster, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 20, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg. There will be no services or calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, is handling arrangements. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Mary Margaret Parker of Millersburg; a granddaughter-in-law, Diane Parker of Wooster and grandsons and their wives, David A. and Constance Parker of Shawnee, Kan., and Edwin L. and Sara Parker of Morago, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Lisa M. and Michael Parker of California, and Sean Parker of Wooster; and a sister, Dorothy Ray of Wooster.

Helen Koerner
WOOSTER -- Helen D. Koerner, 82, 1670 Gasche St., Wooster, died Saturday, Feb. 21, at Austin Retirement Village. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland. Friends may call Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Custer Funeral Home, Wooster. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Richard W. and Mary A. Koerner of Wooster; two grandchildren; and sisters, Anna Krnjaich and Agnes Fedor, both of Cleveland.

A.J. Nieport
WALNUT CREEK -- A.J. Nieport, 86, 4770 Olde Pump St., Walnut Creek, formerly of Canyon Country, Calif., and Canton, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home, after an extended illness. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Scott Snyder officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Barrs Mills Church of God, 4677 State Route 93, Sugarcreek 44681. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons and their wives, Ronald and Cindee Nieport of Merced, Calif., and Richard and Karen Nieport of Bakersfield, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Samuel Summers
COVENTRY, England -- Samuel Vaughan Summers, 50, died Thursday, Feb. 19, at his home after a two-year illness with cancer. Burial will be at Coventry Cemetery in England. A-Pargetter & Sons L.T.D. Funeral Home in Coventry is handling arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Esther Summers, and children, Samantha and Ryan, all of Coventry, England; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Summers of Lodi; a sister, Vicki Brown of Barron, Wis.; brothers, Richard Summers of Rittman and David Summers of Lodi; and nieces and nephews.

Lucille Hollopeter
WOOSTER -- Lucille C. Hollopeter, 75, of Wooster, died Sunday, Feb. 22, at her home. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Paul Sluss officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Wayne County Public Library, 304 N. WOOSTER -- Wava M. Johnson, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 22, at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Mansfield. She was formerly of Wayne County. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Dalton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John H. Wolfe officiating. Burial will be at Apple Creek Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Dalton United Methodist Church; Medical Center Hospice of Mansfield; or to the Dalton Historical Society. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Teri Johnson of Shiloh, Fred and Sally Johnson of Mount Gilead; four grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Swarm of Warren and Dorothy Smith of Wooster; and brothers, Raymond Young of Florida and Donald Young of Wooster.

WOOSTER -- William E. Hall, 67, 1265 Sylvan Road, Wooster, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, at his residence. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Oliver Davis officiating. Burial will be at Congress Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted. Friends may call Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Mrs. Charles (Karen) Bullen of Arlington, Texas, Mrs. Kenneth (Sharon) Knight and Timothy Hall, both of Wooster and Caroline Hahn of Apple Creek; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Carl Hall of Moore, Okla.; and sisters, Pearline Clason and Shirley Alleman, both of Wooster. A daughter, Catherine Stillwagner and a sister, Madeline Finn, died previously.

Hazel Middaugh
COSHOCTON -- Hazel H. Middaugh, 89, of Coshocton, died Sunday morning, Feb. 22, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. Services were held this morning (Wednesday) at 11 at Free Funeral Home in Coshocton. The Rev. Herbert R. Bundy officiated. Burial was at Franklin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hazel Middaugh Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 961, Coshocton 43812. Surviving are eight children, 33 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Linda Tracey
BOARDMAN -- Linda (Perry) Tracey, 48, 6751 Tanglewood, died Sunday morning, Feb. 22, 1998, from a pulmonary embolism. Memorial services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Apple Creek. The body has been cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society; or to a charity of the donor's choice. Surviving are her husband, Scott Tracey of Boardman and formerly of Apple Creek and his son, Seth, her father, Joe Lee Perry and her mother, Eleanor Grennan, a sister and nieces and nephews, all of Indiana. She is also survived locally by Lavern and Betty Tracey of Orrville, Kirby Tracey, Blinn Tracey and Lisa Lemar and their families.

WOOSTER -- Donald E. Franks, 75, 2602 Imperial St., Wooster, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Wooster Community Hospital, after an extended illness. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Fetterhoff officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 1924 Burbank Road, Wooster 44691. Surviving in addition to his wife are children and their spouses, Terry Gene and Penny Franks of Bailey, Colo., Kathleen Ann and Daniel Robert Williamson of Eugene, Ore., and Kenneth James Franks of Wooster; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, James William Franks of Jeromesville.

Bertha Navarro
HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Bertha (Eshleman) Navarro, 78, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of North Lawrence, died Thursday, Jan. 29. A memorial Mass was held Thursday, Feb. 5 at Holy Family Church in Honolulu. Surviving are her husband, Ramon Navarro and children, Ray Navarro and Peggy Rose Navarro; and brothers, James D. Eshleman of Hephzibah, Ga., and Sam J. Eshleman of Wooster.

Joseph Wengerd
MILLERSBURG -- Joseph J. Wengerd, 85, 2951 State Route 39, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 25, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital, Millersburg, after a brief illness. Services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Reuben D. Troyer residence, 3387 State Route 39, Millersburg, with Bishop Ben L. Raber officiating. Burial will be at Raber Cemetery, Walnut Creek Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime after 2 today (Thursday) at the Wengerd residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek. Surviving in addition to his wife are children and their spouses, Clara and Larry Smith of Apple Creek, Mary Yoder and Enos and Twila Wengerd, all of Wooster, Levi and Kay Wengerd of Killbuck and Melvin and Barb Wengerd of Beach City; stepchildren, Melvin Troyer and Mahlon (Patricia) Troyer, both of Sugarcreek and Esther Kaser of Wilmot; 16 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and sisters, Mary Schwartz and Katie Schwartz, both of Michigan.

LOUDONVILLE -- Daniel E. Randall, 50, of 516 N. Spring St., died Wednesday morning, Feb. 25, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Gary Pollock officiating. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Corp., 40 E. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Frank Hudson officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville.
