Rilda Schenk

MARION - Rilda Z. Schenk, formerly of Nevada and more recently of Marion, died at 4:15 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Marion Manor Nursing Home. She was 90. Born in Rhinestone, Pa., on Feb. 27, 1913, she was a daughter of James and Lulu (Hall) Kinkade. She married Fred Schenk on Nov. 16, 1932, in Marion. He died in March 1960. Surviving are two sons, Gerald, Magnetic Springs; and Harold, Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Fred Schenk Jr.; two brothers; and five sisters. Mrs. Schenk formerly worked for Swan Rubber Co. in Bucyrus. Graveside services will be in Nevada Cemetery at 3 p.m. Monday. Denzer-Farison-Hottinger Funeral Home in Marion, is handling arrangements.

Glen Mosman

Glen Robert Mosman of rural Nevada, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Born April 1, 1923, in Eden Township, he was a son of Lloyd and Hazel (Snavely) Mosman. He married Mabel Margraf on June 6, 1948, at the Sycamore Evangelical and Reformed Church. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael, Nevada; Joe, Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Ann Mossbrugger, Upper Sandusky; four grandchildren, Michelle Bailey, Sycamore; Edan Mossbrug-ger, Upper Sandusky; Parker Mosman, Flint, Mich.; and Stephanie Mosman, Yellville, Ark.; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles, Nevada; and a sister, Alice King, Nevada. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Margraf and Catherine Walton. A 1941 Eden High School graduate, Mr. Mosman was a third generation farmer, which he did until his retirement in 1990. He was a life-long member of the Eden Chapel United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years. Mr. Mosman was a North Centeral Electric Cooperative board member for 22 years, and served as its president for 12 years. He also served as a board of trustees member of Buckeye Power Inc. in Columbus for 20 years. He enjoyed reading, especially C.S. Lewis, Oswald Chambers and Ralph Waldo Emerson, and also enjoyed cutting firewood and organic vegetable gardening. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Rick Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Ceme-tery, Sycamore. Visitation is today from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eden Chapel or the organization of the donor's choice in care of Lucas Funeral Home, PO Box 207, Upper Sandusky OH 43351.

Naomi Laipply

BUCYRUS - Naomi "Kitty" Laipply, Bucyrus, died at 9:35 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Fairview Manor. She was 77. Born in Crawford County on May 17, 1925, she was a daughter of Calvin and Bergettie (Cooper) Cooper. She married Raymond Laipply on May 10, 1953, and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Susan Rooker, Lancaster; a grandson, Mark Laipply, Athens; a brother, Raymond Cooper, Bucyrus; and three sisters, Helen Swinehart, Upper Sandusky; Betty Flowers, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Alice Gabriel, Bucyrus. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. A 1944 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School, Mrs. Laipply was a homemaker and worked for R.R. Donnely Co., Peco II (formerly North Electric) and Ley's Jewelry Store in Bucyrus. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Bucyrus. Mrs. Laipply also was a member of Colonel Crawford Post No. 181, American Legion Auxiliary and a 40-year member of the Bucyrus Grange. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus, with the Revs. Ray LaSalle and Earl Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in care of Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus OH 44820.

Darrell Leeth

CAREY - Darrell Neil Leeth, Piketon, died at the age of 46 at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. A son of Norman Leeth and Bonnie Stewart-Harrah, he was born in Pike County on Oct. 19, 1956. He married B. Elizabeth Wilburn in Upper Sandusky on Aug. 6, 2000. She survives. Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Shirley Harrah, Waverly; a son, Christopher, Grayson, Ky.; a grandson, Christopher Leeth; a grandmother, Leona Morgan, Waverly; two brothers, Steven and Richard Leeth, both of Upper Sandusky; and two sisters, Regina Nunley and Rhonda McCarley, both of Upper Sandusky. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Leeth was a laborer. He attended the Pentecostal Church. Mr. Leeth enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and working on cars. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. James Robinette officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation is at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Darrell N. Leeth Memorial Fund in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.

Helen Faber

CAREY - Helen Irene Faber, formerly of 271 Glenn Ave., Carey, died at Eaglewood Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past five years, at 12:31 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003. She was 93. Born May 16, 1909, in Adrian, she was a daughter of James and Ethel (Mullholand) Roof. She and Harry Faber were married May 16, 1927. He died Nov. 7, 1976. Surviving are a son, Harold, Carey; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Ellis; three brothers, Lester, Forest and Richard Roof; and two sisters, Doris Reinhart and Donnabelle Horn. Mrs. Faber was a homemaker. She attended Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carey. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home with the interim pastor Andrea Starn officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the Dorcas Carey Public Library in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.

John Seifert

CAREY - John Joseph Seifert, 131 S. Lake St., Carey, died at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay, at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003. He was 84. A son of Oswald and Agnes (Wagner) Seifert, he was born in Seneca County on March 27, 1919. He married Marietta Niederkohr on May 25, 1939. She died March 29, 1981. Surviving are three sons, Herman, Edward and Richard, all of Carey; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; eight brothers, William, Fremont; Thomas, New London; Urban, Sandusky; Robert, Tiffin; Louis, Redford, Ga.; Harold, Dewitt, Mich.; Oswald Jr., Indiana; and David, Thermopolis, Wyo.; and two sisters, Helen Vadala, Tiffin; and Ruth Woods, Richmond, Va. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert; and five sisters, Margaret Kinn, Dorothy Magers, Delores Szablewski, Mary Rose Kridwood and Alice Seifert. Mr. Seifert retired in 1981 from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers of America in Toledo. He attended the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation. Mr. Seifert was a life member of American Legion Post No. 344, VFW Post No. 3759 and Eagles Aerie No. 2198, all in Carey. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus Carey Council No. 1925, Carey Conservation Club and Moose Lodge No. 872 in New Riegel. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation with the Rev. Regis Schlagheck officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home from 2-9 p.m. Friday. Scripture will be read at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor's choice.

Mace Carpenter

CAREY - Mace Junior Carpenter, 12998 CH 4, Carey, died at his home at 1:45 a.m., Thursday, May 15, 2003. He was 74. Born on July 24, 1928, in Salyersville, Ky., he was a son of Mace and Creacie (Craft) Carpenter. He married Margaret Edington on Nov. 10, 1950. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Gregory Lee, rural Carey; Douglas J., Columbus; Dennis James, Argentina; four daughters, Pamela Lynn Scott, Elaine Kay Fox, and Kandy Sue Gretzinger, all of Carey; and Cheryl Adamec, Van Buren; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dollie Patrick, Mount Sterling, Ky. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Junior; three sisters; and a brother. Mr. Carpenter retired from Yellow Freight as a truck driver. He belonged to Teamsters Local 40. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Beach Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Russ Manns officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery north of Vanlue. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the Mace J. Carpenter Memorial fund in care of Beach Funeral Home, 214 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.

Lowell Caudill

CAREY - Lowell Thomas "Tom" Caudill, Findlay, died at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, at 5:55 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2003. He was 63. Born on Nov. 10, 1939, in Riceville, Ky., he was a son of Lee and Pearl (Hackworth) Caudill. He married Patricia Ann Tong on Oct. 4, 1958, in Mount Blanchard. She died Dec. 25, 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Frank, Fremont; a son, Tom, Fremont; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five sisters, Goldie Kleinmark, Bonnie Caudill and Sharon Yingling, all of Carey; Clara Wickard, McCook, Neb.; and Linda Groves, Findlay. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Hummel and Virginia Tackett; and a brother, Larry. A 1958 graduate of Carey High School, Mr. Caudill served in the U.S. Army and retired as a millwright from Consoli-dated Biscuit in McComb. He attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Carey. Mr. Caudill was a member of VFW Post No. 3003 and Masonic Lodge 227 F&AM, both in Findlay. He enjoyed playing cards, camping and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Layne officiating. Burial will be in Zion Bloom Cemetery in Vanlue, where military graveside rites will be conducted. Visitation is at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, from 3-8 p.m. today and at the church from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.

Barbara Lab

Barbara J. Lab, 313 W. Church St., Upper Sandusky, died at Wyandot Memorial Hospital at 5:27 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2003, at the age of 75. A daughter of Warren and Mabel (Harris) Bennett, she was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Arcadia. She married Richard Lab on Sept. 2, 1949, in Findlay. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Anthony, Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren, Andrew and Curtis Lab; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Waldo Bennett, Lafayette; Ralph Bennett, Findlay; and John David Bennett, Upper Sandusky; and a sister, Carol Pfeiffer, Naples, N.Y. She was preceded in death by two infant children, Jack and Nedra; a brother, James Bennett; and a sister, Geneva Lehman. A 1945 graduate of Findlay High School, Mrs. Lab attended Tiffin University. She had been employed by Marathon Oil in Findlay, Neon Products and Metropolitan Bank in Lima, and Commercial Savings Bank, Dr. C.B. Schoolfield and Dr. Kyu Park, all of Upper Sandusky. Mrs. Lab enjoyed being with people, talking, artwork, making stationery and Christmas cards, reading and traveling to friends' and family's homes. She also crocheted children's toys to give away at the doctors' offices. The graveside service will be June 7 at 9:30 a.m. in Old Mission Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Wessler officiating. Memorials may be made to the Upper Sandusky Community Library or to the organization of the donor's choice in care of Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky OH 43351.

Martha Musgrave

FOREST - Martha Ellen Musgrave, formerly of Forest and more recently of Kenton, died at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton at 1:40 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2003. She was 95. Born on Nov. 6, 1907, in Hardin County, she was a daughter of Ferdinand and Cora (Wilcox) Dible. She and Herman "Sal" Musgrave were married Aug. 7, 1936. He died May 19, 1970. Surviving are two sons, Ray, Forest; and H. Dale, Quincy, Mass.; a daughter, Peggy Kuhlman, Lepsic; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ramon Lee; five brothers, Gordon, Malcoln, Edward, Carl and Fred; and a sister, Frances "Peggy" Green. A 1925 graduate of Kenton High School, Mrs. Musgrave retired after 20 years as Forest Elementary School cook. Mrs. Musgrave was a charter member of the Forest Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and McVitty VFW Post No. 1102 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Forest. She also was a member of Vesta Temple Phythian Sisters No. 75 in Forest, and was a past district chief. Mrs. Musgrave participated in the Pinochle Club in Forest. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Shields Funeral Home in Forest, with the Rev. Brett Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Hueston Cemetery, Forest. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor's choice.

Ida Taylor

Ida Gwendolyn "Dody" Taylor of Franklin, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at Walnut Creek Nursing Center in Kettering. She was 87. Born April 19, 1916, in Marion, she was a daughter of Francis and Daisy (Waltimyer) Eatherton. She married Paul "Charlie" Taylor on Aug. 31, 1940. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Hirsch, West Richland, Wash.; five grandchildren, Jeffery Hirsch, Bryan Hirsch, Ben Taylor and Stephanie Taylor-Dunkel; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Mary Jane Koehler, Mainville. She was preceded in death by a son, Tom; a sister; and a brother. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Lori Ammons

Lori Lynn Ammons, 110 1/2 N. Main St., Nevada, died at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, at 6:33 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2003. She was 28. Born on Sept. 16, 1974, in Sioux City, Iowa, she was a daughter of Robert and Patsy (Carter) Speck. She later was adopted by Thomas and Marnie Hill of Upper Sandusky. All survive. She and Jessie Ammons were married July 14, 2001, at the First Church of God in Upper Sandusky. He also survives in Nevada. Other survivors are three children, Seth, Danika and Jonathan, all of Nevada; and a brother, Robert Speck, Findlay. Mrs. Ammons was a homemaker and baby-sitter. She attended First Church of God. Mrs. Ammons enjoyed children, collecting Scooby Doo figurines and memorabilia, laughing and having fun, reading novels and playing with her dog Sassy. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at First Church of God with the Rev. Mike Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Cemetery in Marseilles. Memorials may be made to the Lori Ammons ChildrenŐs Fund in care of Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Upper Sandusky OH 43351.

Dorothy Moser

Dorothy Alice Moser, 88, died at the Wyandot County Nursing Home, where she had resided since 1992. She died at 7:55 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2003. Born in Wyandot County on July 7, 1914, she was a daughter of Fred and Cleo (Bardon) Moser. Surviving are two sisters, Janet Wagner, Upper Sandusky; and Miriam Worth, LaGrange, Ind.; 14 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. A 1932 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Ms. Moser was a homemaker and also worked at Kimmel Cleaners and baby-sat. She worked at the Marion Depot during World War II. She attended John Stewart United Methodist Church. Ms. Moser was a member of United Methodist Women, Order of Eastern Star No. 366 Warpole Chapter and a former member of Champion Grange and the Wyandot County Extension Group. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Geissinger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to John Stewart United Methodist Church in care of Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Upper Sandusky OH 43351.

Andrew Williams

CAREY - Andrew Isaac Williams of Vanlue, died at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay, at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2003. He was 80. Born in Carey on Sept. 24, 1922, he was a son of Ray and Mary (Bakies) Williams. He married Mary Heck, and they later divorced. He married Doris Elaine Nestor on Nov. 6, 1990. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Linda Frederick and Donna Williams, both of Findlay; Diane Michaelis, Yelm, Wash.; and Elizabeth Cater, Carey; a stepdaughter, Carol Carmona, Findlay; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James, Sycamore; and Leo, Bucyrus; and a sister, Leona Roszman, Upper Sandusky. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Russell Williams; and a sister, Bernice Boyce. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Williams retired from National Lime and Stone Co. in Carey. He was affiliated with Grace United Methodist Church in Carey. Mr. Williams was a life member of VFW Post No. 3759 in Carey. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey is handling arrangements.

Kenneth Rowlinson

BUCYRUS - Kenneth R. "Kenny" Rowlinson, Bucyrus, died on Beck Road following a farm accident at 11:10 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2003, at the age of 50. A son of Warren and Leola (Wood) Rowlinson, he was born on Feb. 12, 1953, in Kenton. He married Cathy Ann Leonhardt on Oct. 26, 1981. She survives. Also surviving are his mother; five sons, Jason, Marion; Wes, Upper Sandusky; and Randy, Gary and Josh, all of Bucyrus; four brothers, Larry, Roger and Rodney, all of Bucyrus; and Richard, Galion; a sister, Connie Walker, Bucyrus; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. A graduate of Colonel Crawford High School in 1972, Mr. Rowlinson farmed and was part of the Leonhardt Farms with his father-in-law for more than 30 years. He attended Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Rowlinson was involved in 4-H and enjoyed being with children. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home in Bucyrus, with the Rev. Mike Corwin officiating. Burial will be in Brokensword Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to a fund set up for Rowlinson's sons in care of Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus OH 44820.
