Monty Hildreth
FOREST - Monty B. Hildreth, 2700 Hollybrook Dr., Findlay, and formerly of Forest, died at 4:43 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at St. Vincent Hospital and Med Center in Toledo. He was 55.
Mr. Hildreth was born Sept. 7, 1949, in San Francisco, Calif., to Joseph D. and Alice J. (Ensminger) Hildreth. He married Carol D. Lawrence on June 27, 1970, and they were divorced. Surviving are two sons, Joseph B., Kenton, and Steven “Benji”, Mt. Victory; one sister, Tana Hight, formerly of Marion; and two grandchildren, Hayden B. and Kaylin D. Hildreth, Mt. Victory.
A 1968 graduate of Riverdale High School, Mr. Hildreth was a retired first class linesman for Local 32 IBEW of Lima.
Private family graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Shields Funeral Home, Forest, who is handling arrangements.

Roberta Young
CAREY - Roberta J. “Tiny” Young, 51, of 128 1/2 E. Findlay St., Carey, died at her parents’ home, 527 West St., Carey, at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004.
The daughter of Frank and Joan (Bentz) Thompson, she was born on May 28, 1953, in Carey. She married Allan C. Young, and they later divorced.
Surviving are three children, Chad and April Young, Carey; and Jamie Young, Tiffin; three grandchildren, Peyton and Bryce Young and Preston Row; and a brother, Allen Brown, Carey. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Travis James Young.
A 1972 graduate of Carey High School, Ms. Young was a laborer at A.O. Smith in Upper Sandusky for 26 years.
She attended the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey.
Ms. Young was a member of VFW Post No. 3579 Auxiliary in Carey. She was a Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation with the Rev. Regis Schlagheck officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is at Stombaugh-Batton funeral Home, Carey, from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. A Chrisitan wake will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donald Haubert
CAREY - Donald F. “Shorty” Haubert, New Riegel, died at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at his residence. He was 68.
A son of Hilarian “Happy” and Ruth (Coldiron) Haubert, he was born in Seneca County on Sept. 28, 1936. He married Wanda L. Miller on Nov. 21, 1964, in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Republic. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda Kelbley, McCutchenville; and Cathy Haubert, Toledo; two sons, Ronald and Roger, New Riegel; five grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Amanda and Austin Kelbley and Skyla Nye; six sisters, Dorothy Preble, Fostoria; Joan Kirian, McCutchenville; Helen “Jeanie” Kin, New Riegel; Mary “Booty” Collet, Carey; Virginia “Toddy” Mocke-nstrum, McCutchenville; and Theresa “Sissy” Reinhart, Alvada; and two brothers, Robert, Alvada; and Bernard, Fostoria. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry; and an infant daughter, LaDonna.
Mr. Haubert retired in 1991 from Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria after 27 years of employment. He also was a retired Seneca County farmer.
He attended St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown.
Mr. Haubert was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Ameri-can Legion Post No. 354 in New Riegel. He also was a member of the Fostoria Sportsman Club.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown, with the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Frenchtown. Visitation is at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. There will be a rosary service.

Porfiria Torres
Porfiria Torres, 410 W. Spring St., Upper Sandusky, died at 11:33 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Marion General Hospital. She was 96.
Born in Mexico on Sept. 15, 1908, she was a daughter of Carlos Torres and Maxima Zaragoza.
Surviving are two sons, Vince Rodriguez and Ted Lopez, Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Rosa Rall, Upper Sandusky; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Christine Costello, Upper Sandusky; and Rosa Esquibel, Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Ms. Torres was a homemaker and did baby-sitting.
She attended St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Ms. Torres enjoyed watching soap operas and Lawrence Welk on TV. She sewed, knitted, quilted and crocheted afghans and enjoyed making homemade tortillas and beans every day. She also did flower gardening, especially roses, grew avocados, collected buttons and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery. Visitation is at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friday. There will be a Scripture service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Tim Coppler
CAREY - Tim A. Coppler, 6155 CH 106, Carey, died at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo at 3 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004. He was 49.
Born in Findlay on Jan. 26, 1955, he was a son of Earl W. and Della J. (Weaver) Coppler. They survive in Carey.
Also surviving are a daughter, Autumn Coppler, Carey; a granddaughter, Cheylsie Kidwell; and a brother, Dan, Carey.
A 1973 graduate of Carey High School, Mr. Coppler was employed at Hancor Inc. in Findlay for the past 23 years.
He was of Protestant faith.
Mr. Coppler was a member of Muskie Inc. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and muskie fishing anywhere.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Cynthia Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. Sunday.

Marjorie Gossman
CAREY - Marjorie A. Gossman, 84, of 427 Frederick St., Carey, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of Leo Benjamin and Margaret (Clark) Schoenberger, she was born in Wyandot County on Dec. 5, 1919. She and Louis Ervin Gossman were married in March 1945. He died June 17, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Howard, Williamstown; and Bonnie Feasel, Carey; and four grandchildren, Scott Feasel, Pam Howard, Paul Howard and Sara Howard. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie Anne Feasel; five sisters, Helen Beagle, Irene Gossman, Maxine Schoenberger, Lena Mae Baker and Mary June Schoenberger; two brothers, Glen Dale Schoenberger and Harold Allen Schoenberger; and a half brother, Clifford Clark.
Mrs. Gossman was a housewife.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Beach Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Joseph Searfoss officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey. Visitation is today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, and before the service Saturday.
Memorials may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, food pantry and for soup suppers.
Harold Schenk
Harold E. Schenk, 71, of Nevada, died at 8:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at his residence.
Born in Columbus on Aug. 4, 1933, he was a son of Fredrick A. and Rilda Z. (Kincade) Schenk. He married Christine Robertson on Jan. 17, 1953, in Greenup, Ky. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ralph, Bucyrus; two daughters, Beverly Dyer, Lykens; and Karen Butler, Flemingsburg, Ky.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Gerald, Magnetic Springs. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Butler; a brother, Fredrick Jr.; and a sister, Gertrude Schenk.
After attending Nevada High School, Mr. Schenk was a general foreman for the Mills Co. in Upper Sandusky for 43 years.
He attended the Oceola Tabernacle of Praise.
Mr. Schenk was a member of AMVETS Post No. 777, VFW Post No. 2842, Moose Lodge No. 1093 and was a past president of Sons of the AMVETS. He served with the honor guard for military graveside rites many times, and also was a member of the Eagles. Mr. Schenk enjoyed fishing, camping, going to blue grass festivals and spending time with his family.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Carl Angel officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Fox
CAREY - Mary L. Fox of Carey, a resident of the Carey Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the last eight years, died at the facility at 2:23 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004. She was 82.
Born in West Virginia on Jan. 28, 1922, she was a daughter of John and Mary (Cserney) Sabo. She married James Walters, and they divorced. She later married Robert "Bobby" Fox, and they divorced.
Surviving are a daughter, Faith Ann Noss, Clyde; two grandchildren, Denise Amor and Kip Noss; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Lewis Sabo, Perrysburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A 1940 graduate of Perrysburg High School, Mrs. Fox worked at RCA in Findlay.
She attended Parkview Assembly Church in Carey.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Paul Goetz officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
