Kenneth Williams
Kenneth L. Williams of Morral, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community. He was 88.
Born on Jan. 16, 1916, in Morral, he was a son of Lloyd B. and Sarah E. (Loudenslager) Williams. On Sept. 18, 1936, he married Mildred L. Francis in Morral Methodist Church. She died May 14, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Robert, Morral; and Steven, LaGrange, Ky.; five grandchildren, Ted, Cynthia Ladig, Cathleen Leichliter, Cheryl Denzik and Christine Young; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald, Morral; and a sister, Maxine Cochrun, Morral.
A graduate of Morral High School, Mr. Williams was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of Morral United Methodist Church, and at one time served on its board and as treasurer.
Mr. Williams was a trustee with the Marion Rural Electric Board for 18 years and served as treasurer and director for the Grand Prairie Cemetery. He also served on the Marion Producers Livestock Board, and enjoyed woodworking.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Morral United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Scannell officiating. Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge. Visitation is Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, and for an hour before the service at the church.

Grace Schmidt
BLUFFTON - Grace E. Schmidt, Bluffton, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, at the age of 84.
A daughter of Andrew and Bessie (Amweg) Vogt, she was born in Forest on Sept. 25, 1920. She and Eugene Schmidt were married on Dec. 25, 1940. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Eugene Jr., Bluffton; two daughters, Carol Ann Burns, West Bend, Wis.; and Karen Kirkland, Belleville, Mich.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Weaver, Kenton; and Mary McDaniel, Forest. She was preceded in death by a grandchild; and a sister, Dolly Weaver.
Mrs. Schmidt graduated from Forest High School and was a homemaker.
She attended English Lutheran Church in Bluffton.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at English Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kevin Mohr officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery in Kenton. Visitation is for an hour before the service at the church.

Mary Joan McMahon
Mary Joan McMahon, 70, of West Bigelow Street, Upper Sandusky, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Morning View Care Center in Marion.
Born in Marion County on Dec. 20, 1933, she was a daughter of Kenneth M. and Mary Alice (Snyder) Converse. Her mother survives in Marion.
Also surviving are three daughters, Pamela Pinney, Prospect; Bobbi Hare, Mount Gilead; and Cleda Drake, Upper Sandusky; three sons, Stan Flowers, Phoenix; Steve Flowers, Marion; and Kevin Flowers, Upper Sandusky; 14 grandchildren, Erica Pinney, Richwood; Wesley and Kelsey Pinney, Prospect; Lauren, Logan, Langley and Lane Flowers, Marion; Ashley Binau, Ryan and Cody Drake, Upper Sandusky; Alyssa, Andrea and Amanda Hare, Mount Gilead; and Lindsay Flowers, New Jersey; and two sisters, Patricia Wood, Waldo; and Sherril Appelfeller, Marion. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Ms. McMahon graduated from Marseilles High School in 1951, and then attended Marion Technical College, graduating in 1983 with an associate’s degree in data processing technology. She graduated from Tiffin University in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Ms. McMahon was an assembler, press operator and material coordinator at Whirpool Corp. in Marion, retiring in 2000 after 29 years of service. After her retirement, she worked in customer service at the Comfort Inn in Upper Sandusky from 2001-03.
She at one time was a member at Forest United Methodist Church, where she played the organ.
Ms. McMahon enjoyed horses, was active in 4-H as a young girl and later as an adviser, music, was a collector, enjoyed flower gardening and house plants, reading and watching her grandchildren and children.
The memorial service will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home with the Rev. Doral Sharp officiating. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and it was Ms. McMahon’s wish to be cremated.

Mary Neubauer
FOREST - Mary K. Neubauer, 512 S. Spiedel Ave., Forest, died at 8:32 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Marion General Hospital. She was 82.
A daughter of Burton E. and Marie (Grooms) Pierce, she was born in Chillicothe on June 14, 1922. She married Virgil H. Ogan on Oct. 9, 1941, and he died in March 1960. She married Raymond W. Byerly in December 1961. He died Nov. 2, 1970. She and Francis L. “Frank” Neubauer were married on July 14, 1990. He survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Joe Ogan, Upper Sandusky; David Ogan, Yorktowne; John Ogan, Summersville; and Raymond Byerly, Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Mary Altvater, Nashville, Tenn.; three stepsons, Reid Neubauer, Pioneer; Lee Neubauer, Canton; and Mark Neubauer, Mount Blanchard; a stepdaughter, Julie Neubauer, Arlington; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Ogan.
Mrs. Neubauer retired from A.O. Smith Corp. in Upper Sandusky.
She was a member of the Moose and Eagles lodges, and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, all in Upper Sandusky. Mrs. Neubauer enjoyed baking, bowling and taking care of her family.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Shields Funeral Home, Forest, with the Rev. Steve Umphress officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, where a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today.

Albert Brocklesby
Albert L. "Jack" Brocklesby, a resident of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since 1969, died at the facility at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004. He was 88.
Born in Mononcue on May 14, 1916, he was a son of Charles R. and Grace M. (Bishop) Brocklesby.
He is survived by three nephews, Robert, Joseph and Dallas Brocklesby; five nieces, Judith Ashmore, Cheryl Bachtell, Joyce Kreps, Jean Quay and Laura Stroup; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Thomas, Edward and Dick; and two sisters, Edythe Craun and Ethel Long.
Mr. Brocklesby attended Angeline School of Opportu-nity and was employed at Angeline Industries for 30 years as a paper shredder. At home, he put wood and coal on the fire to heat the house, fed the chickens, got the mail, held and rocked all his nieces and nephews and took care of the family horse, Molly. He made weekly visits to the family graves at the Cemetery, and he enjoyed Lawrence Welk music, dancing, crafts and his pet cat.
He was of Methodist faith.
Mr. Brocklesby considered the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center his home, and he greeted each new resident, as well as their family members, at the facility. He pushed meal carts and helped push wheelchair residents to and from the cafeteria. Mr. Brocklesby visited the kitchen help early each morning, and enjoyed wearing suspenders with sheriff badges.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home with the Rev. David Roach officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. Friday.

Noland Holt
Noland E. Holt of East Church Street, Upper Sandusky, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at his residence. He was 69.

Frederick Elliott
Frederick “Fritz” R. Elliott, 69, of Morral, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Marion General Hospital.
Born in Wyandot County on July 16, 1935, he was a son of Donald and Leona (Walters) Elliott. He married Betty Slavey, and they later divorced. He and Shirley Pfleider-Scott were married on Nov. 11, 1971, in Marion. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Joseph Elliott, Sycamore; Todd Elliott, Morral; William Scott, Naples, Fla.; Brian Kelly, LaRue; and Mike Kelly, Morral; eight daughters, Cheryl Dyer, Upper Sandusky; Juanita Smith, Marion; Linda Johnson, Naples; Anna Doane, Upper Sandusky; Debbie Price, Marion; Carol Johnston, Marion; Dianna Kelly, Marion; and Jackie Morgan, Sycamore; 31 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Elliott, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson and two sisters, Donna Mullholland and Dolores Wood.
After attending Harpster High School, Mr. Elliott was a carpenter and mason with Cliff Danner Construction for many years. Before that, he drove truck for McFarland Transport.
Mr. Elliott served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Model Airplane Association, and enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, working on tractors and taking part in tractor pulls.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Zweizig officiating. Burial will be in York Street Cemetery in Jackson Township. Visitation is at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Janice McLaughlin
CAREY - Janice J. McLaughlin, 1354 Ohio 568, Carey, died at her residence at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004. She was 80.
A daughter of Alonzo and Mamie LaVerne (Sigler) Green, she was born in Carey on June 22, 1924. She married Fred A. McLaughlin on July 1, 1947, at The Priest House in Carey. He survives.
Also surviving are five children, Bernie “Punk” Stahl, Pataskala; Ron McLaughlin, Carey; Joyce McLaughlin, Bradenton, Fla.; Tom “Turk” McLaughlin, Carey; and Carole McLaughlin, San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frieda Mae Elchert, Carey. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter and a sister, Frances Collet.
A 1942 graduate of Carey High School, Mrs. McLaughlin retired from A.O. Smith in Upper Sandusky after 26 years of employment.
She attended the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation.
Mrs. McLaughlin volunteered at the Carey Food Pantry, Essex’s clothing donation center, Franciscan Missions Association and the Shrine Cafeteria.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation with the Rev. Ernest Waechter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. A Christian wake will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thomas Giesey
FINDLAY - Thomas W. "Tom" Giesey, 61, of 329 W. Findlay St. Carey, died at 3:12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Born in Findlay on July 10, 1943, he was a son of Samuel and Grace (Altman) Giesey. He married Caren L. Archable on Feb. 26, 1972, and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Danielle Phoenix, Carey; three sons, Jon Giesey, Upper Sandusky; and Tom Jr. and Mike Giesey, both at home; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Codi, Trae, Trevor, Sarah, Tyler, Trent and Brandon; a sister, Betty VanDenEynde, Findlay; and a brother, Jim Giesey, Findlay. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lacey Giesey; a brother, Sam Giesey Jr.; and seven sisters, Wilma Bickmier, Leanna Friend, Mary Spitler, Peg Chaffin, Ginger Chaffin, Eileen Giesey and Sherry Giesey.
Mr. Giesey was a furniture mover/truck driver for Imlach of Ohio, where he was awarded numerous safe driving awards.
He was a member of Crawford United Methodist Church.
Mr. Giesey enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sporting events.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike VanDenEynde Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, and for one hour before the service on Thursday.
