Ruth Fewell
FOREST - Ruth C. Fewell, 5094 CH 195, Forest, died at the age of 93 at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at the Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A daughter of John and Josephine (Althause) Dettwiler, she was born in Hardin County on Sept. 19, 1911. She married Hanson Fewell on Sept. 29, 1934. He died March 1, 1956.
Surviving are a daughter, Roberta Yingling, St. Marys; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Allene Hibner, Kenton. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald.
A graduate of Kenton High School, Mrs. Fewell was a homemaker.
She attended Grant United Methodist Church in Forest, and had been a member of the former Eureka United Methodist Church in Forest. There she served as church pianist, Sunday school teacher and was a member of its United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Fewell was a member of the Dunkirk and Forest Kan-Do Grandmother’s Club and of Crafty Lassies’ Craft Club.
The funeral will be Wed-nesday at 11 a.m. at Shields Funeral Home in Forest, with the Rev. Jeremy Gillfillan officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Kenton. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday.

L.V. Ebenhack
L.V. Ebenhack, 83, of Waverly, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.
Born on Nov. 29, 1920, in Yellowbud, he was a son of Marcus B. and Elizabeth B. (Wright) Ebenhack. On Dec. 18, 1943, he married Pauline M. Baker. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dan, Danbury, Conn., and Ben, Rochester, N.Y.; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marcus Jr., Charles and Emmett; and two sisters, Hazel Miller and Marlene Garrison.
Mr. Ebenhack graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor of science in education, and received his master’s degree in education from Kent State University. He was a retired secondary education teacher with 20 years of service at Garfield Heights High School, and taught industrial arts and coached at Upper Sandusky High School from 1952-56.
He was of Methodist faith.
Mr. Ebenhack was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former secretary for the Ohio Industrial Arts Association, a life member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and a member of Karmer Post D.A.V. in Zanesville.
The funeral was Saturday at Boyer Funeral Home with Chaplain Renee Burleigh officiating. A private graveside service was held at Brown Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg.
Elma ‘Sally’ Hare
Elma D. “Sally” Hare, of Lavina Drive, Bucyrus, and formerly of Naples, Fla. for the last 18 years, died at Heartland of Bucyrus at 1:04 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004. She was 78.
Born in Wyandot County on July 4, 1926, she was a daughter of Ephrian and Inis (Ulrich) Stansbery. On July 12, 1955, she married Leo E. Hare in Upper Sandusky. He survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Watts, Bucyrus; a son, Bob Gottfried, Gypsum; five grandchildren, Rick McWaters, Tim McWaters, Miles Horsley, Randy Gottfried and Tammy Criag; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Smith, Marion. She was preceded in death by a sister, Effie Ward.
After attending Mifflin School, Mrs. Hare was a homemaker and worked for the Timken Co. in Bucyrus for 25 years. Before that, she was at one time an Avon consultant in Upper Sandusky.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Steward officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. There is no visitation.

Jack Clark
DELAWARE - Jack K. Clark, 61, of Delaware, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 18, 2004, at his residence.
Born on Feb. 26, 1943, in Marion County, he was a son of Lewis M. and Susie (Bartram) Clark. His wife of 26 years, Cyndi Braughton Clark, survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jack Allen, Cardington; Jason and Matthew, Delaware; two daughters, Sue Ann Colwell and Stacy Clark, Delaware; 10 grandchildren; five brothers, Lewis, Arizona; Donald, Carey; Willard, Upper Sandusky; Edward, Arkansas; and Larry, Delaware; and two sisters, Dorothy Branch, Mansfield; and Shirley Sayre, Upper Sandusky.
A Willis High School graduate, Mr. Clark was a general contractor.
Mr. Clark enjoyed hunting, working on motorcycles and cars and being active in his grandchildren's sporting events.
The funeral was Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Delaware, with the Rev. Woody Bagwell officiating. Burial was in Greenmound Cemetery.

Carl Stansbery
CAREY - Carl J. Stansbery, 552 Grove St., Carey, died at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay. He was 80.
Born in Carey on Nov. 7, 1924, he was a son of Leonard and Etta (Musgrave) Stansbery. He married Florence M. Ritter on Jan. 23, 1947, in Greenup, Ky. She died Aug. 2, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Bobby Joe, Carey; two daughters, Janice Norris, Carey; and Kathy Stapleton, Mount Blanchard; eight grandchildren, Todd, Holly, Rickki, Rob, Jenilee, Christopher, Shawn and Matthew; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Howard, Carey; and Alfred, Upper Sandusky. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Walter, David, Richard and Roy; and two sisters, Clara Mae Bensin and an infant, Marry Etta.
Mr. Stansbery was a welder, having worked at National Lime and Stone Co. in Carey, Webster Co. in Tiffin, Differential Car in Findlay and Charles Associates in Findlay.
He attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Carey.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Stansbery served in World War II as an anti-aircraft crewman on the Hawaiian Islands. He was a member of the Carey Conservation Club, American Legion Post No. 344 in Carey. He enjoyed playing the banjo and spending time at the Carey Senior Citizens Depot.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Bobby Turner officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with full military graveside rites conducted by local veterans' organizations. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Carey Senior Citizens Depot.
Ray Culver
Ray Allen Culver, Tiffin, died at St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin, at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004. He was 75.
Arrangements are pending at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home.
Carrie Houser
CAREY - Carrie Lynn Houser, 33, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Tallahassee, Fla.
Born on Oct. 21, 9171, in Endicott, N.Y., she was a daughter of David and Diane (Jenot) Houser. They survive in Apalachin, N.Y.
Also surviving are a brother, Mark, Boston; grandparents, Mary Catherine Jenot, Carey; a number of aunts and uncles, including Roger and Judy Jenot, Carey; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Martha Houser and Carlton Jenot.
Ms. Houser was raised in Apalachin, and graduated from Vestal High School in 1990. She continued her education at SUNY Buffalo and received her master’s of fine arts in dance from Ohio State University. Ms. Houser worked last year as a guest professor at Jacksonville University, and currently was teaching at Florida State University. She also graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Massage and worked as a licensed massage therapist in Ithaca, N.Y., for a short time.
Ms. Houser was known for her quick wit and sense of humor, and reflecting her personality in her dance pieces, artwork, photography and video work.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Consolation in Carey at 11 a.m. Saturday. Visitation is for an hour before the service at the church.

Laura ‘Jeanne’ Laferty
SYCAMORE - Laura “Jeanne” Laferty, formerly of Sycamore and more recently of New Haven, died at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at the age of 77 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
Born in Detroit on June 15, 1927, she was a daughter of Fred C. Berlien and Erma L. (Young) Berlien Wolfrum. She married Laurel Kisor, and they later divorced, and Richard Moler, and they later divorced. She and Hancer Laferty were married on June 15, 1996. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary Kisor, Fairbanks, Va.; six stepchildren, Sue Wells, Willard; Hancer Laferty Jr., New Haven; Sheri Bailey, New Washington; Gary Laferty, Willard; Sandy Feltner, New Haven; and Pam Shephard, Greenwich; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean Wolfrum, rural Fostoria. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Kisor; a stepdaughter, Arena Laferty; and a stepgrandson, Rodney Laferty.
A homemaker, Mrs. Laferty formerly worked at General Electric in Bucyrus.
She formerly attended Sycamore United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Laferty enjoyed playing bingo, traveling with her husband and playing with her dog, Spike, and cats, Half Pint and Luckey.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation is Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Georgia Southward
MARION - Georgia M. Southward, 78, formerly of New Bloomington, died at Morningview Care Center at 11:42 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004.
Born in Carey on Feb. 16, 1926, she was a daughter of Gary George and Hattie Bell (Cook) Sherman. She married Irvin E. Southward on Dec. 16, 1946, in Greenup, Ky. He died March 11, 1997.
Surviving are three sons, William, Cheyenne, Wyo.; James, LaRue; and Irvin F., Pasadena, Md.; six daughters, Linda Shoewalter, Mount Vernon; Vivian Jackson, Morral; Lillian Van Horn, Cardington; Georgia B. Green, New Bloomington; Donna Honaker, Marion; and Doris Bowen, Delaware; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Derington, Fruita, Colo. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Southward was a homemaker.
She was of Methodist faith, and was a member of the DAV.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home, Marion. Burial will be in Agosta Cemetery, New Bloomington. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. Sunday.
