W. Scott Ritter
CAREY - W. Scott Ritter, 31, of Findlay, died at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004.
A son of Elizabeth Grose-Eddington, he was born in Findlay on June 11, 1973. On May 9, 1998, he married Virginia Miller in Carey. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother in Carey; a son, Brice, at home; a stepdaughter, Alissa Martin, at home; a stepson, Charles Martin, at home; maternal grandfather, William Grose, Carey; a sister, Lisa Breitigam, Carey; a brother, Joshua Ritter, Canal Winchester; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Harriet Grose; and a brother, Timothy Ritter.
Mr. Ritter was a laborer.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at New Vision Fellowship, 1648 Lima Ave., Findlay, with his cousin, the Rev. Shane Helms, officiating.

Florence Stansbery
CAREY - Florence M. Stansbery, 552 Grove St., Carey, died at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay, at 10:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at the age of 74.
Born on Feb. 8, 1930, she was a daughter of George and Gertrude (Shine) Ritter. She and Carl J. Stansbery were married on Jan. 23, 1947, in Greenup, Ky. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Bobby Joe, Carey; two daughters, Janice Norris, Carey; and Kathy Stapleton, Mount Blanchard; eight grandchildren, Todd, Holly, Rikki, Rob, Jenilee, Christopher, Shawn and Matthew; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Ritter, Carey; and Dick Ritter, Upper Sandusky; and four sisters, Linda Weatherholtz, Mary Lou Duffin and Carol McKee, Upper Sandusky; and Shirley Rife, Sycamore. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Stansbery, Jane Harding and Marguerite Beidelschies; and two brothers, Paul Ritter Sr., and an infant, David.
Mrs. Stansbery retired from The Budd Co. in Carey, in 1997. She attended Grove Street Tabernacle in Carey.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Bobby Turner officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Helen Fox
Helen L. Fox, North Warpole Street, Upper San-dusky, and more recently a resident of Fairhaven Retire-ment and Health Care Com-munity, died at Fairhaven at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004. She was 86.
Born in Upper Sandusky on March 28, 1918, she was the daughter of Elzer and Dorothy (Seebach) Johns. She and Vincent L. Fox were married May 6, 1939, in Kentucky. He died June 21, 1980.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas and Jerre, Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Sue Zimmerman, Upper Sandus-ky; three grandchildren, Gregory and Kristy Fox, Holland; and Rachael Zim-merman, Upper Sandusky; and a brother, Harold Johns, Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, James and Tommy Johns.
A graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Mrs. Fox and her husband owned and operated Fox's Garage from 1947-90. She also had worked for Flox's Department Store.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Fox at one time was a member of the Upper Sandusky Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for more than 30 years. She was a former member of the AMVETS Auxiliary, Emblem Club and Women of the Moose. She also was a member and had served as president on three occasions for the Northwest Ohio Volunteer Firemen's Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and ceramics.
Private services will be held Saturday, with the Rev. Charles Steward officiating, and burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. There is no public visitation.

James Lawrence
BUCYRUS - James A. Lawrence, 74, formerly of Bucyrus and more recently of Upper Sandusky, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1929, in McGuffey, he was a son of John H. and Cora M. (Blust) Lawrence. He married Lucille L. Kalb on June 2, 1950. She died May 25, 1974. On Nov. 11, 1974, he married Mary L. Cooper. She died May 20, 2004.
Surviving are two children, Rebecca Price and Michael Lawrence, Danville; two stepchildren, Marvin Cooper and Marlene Stanley, Bucyrus; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl, Dunkirk; and Jesse, Tiffin; a sister, Emma Honeyman, Troy; and a half sister, Marie Banks, Lucas. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward; a brother, Jerry; two half brothers, Bob and Merle Shenberger; two sisters, Lucille Honeyman and Della Hodges; and a half sister, Mary Lawrence.
After moving to Bucyrus in 1950, Mr. Lawrence started working at Timken. He retired from there Feb. 2, 1983, after 31 years of employment. He then did janitorial work at Struble Drug Store, cleaning for a barber and mowing lawns.
Mr. Lawrence was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, and enjoyed listening to gospel and country music.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus, with the Rev. Bob Jividen officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Cleo Rowland
BUCYRUS - Cleo C. "Jr." Rowland of New Washington, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Med Central Mansfield, at the age of 91.
A son of Curtis M. and Mary (Graham) Rowland, he was born in Williamstown in Wyandot County on April 20, 1913.
A sister, Norabell Stiefel, Bucyrus; and several nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Cecil, Perle, Emery, Eugene and Willis Rowland.
Mr. Rowland moved to Crawford County in 1933, where he was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the American Bowling Congress. Mr. Rowland also enjoyed his orchard, spending time with family, hunting and was a member of the NRA.
Private graveside services were held this morning in Old Mission Cemetery, with the Rev. Renae Meggitt officiating.

Christopher Nicholas Elwood
FOREST - Christopher Nicholas Elwood died at 10:14 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Grant-Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was 3 days old.
Born Aug. 3, 2004, in Columbus, he was a son of Leo W. Jr. and Nicole"Nikki" (Bell) Elwood, Forest, both of whom survive.
Also surviving are a triplet sister, Caitlyn Jane, Grant-Riverside; sister, Stacy, and two brothers, Leo"Bobby" and Jason, all at home; maternal grandparents, Lester Bell, Sycamore, and Jane Bell, Upper Sandusky; and paternal grandfather, Leo W. Elwood Sr., Wharton. He was preceded in death by his triplet brother, Curtus Allen.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, with the Rev. Paul Scannell officiating. There is no visitation, and Shields Funeral Home in Forest is handling arrangements.

Curtus Allen Elwood
FOREST - Curtus Allen Elwood was stillborn at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Grant-Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was a son of Leo W. Jr. and Nicole"Nikki" (Bell) Elwood, Forest, both of whom survive.
Also surviving are a triplet sister, Caitlyn Jane, Grant-Riverside; sister, Stacy, and two brothers, Leo"Bobby" and Jason, all at home; maternal grandparents, Lester Bell, Sycamore, and Jane Bell, Upper Sandusky; and paternal grandfather, Leo W. Mary S. Koehler
Mary S."Sue" Koehler of Morral, died at the age of 77 at 5:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Marion General Hospital.
Born in Crane Township on Aug. 23, 1926, she was a daughter of Roy and Icy (Beamer) Schindler. She married John D. Koehler on Sept. 30, 1945, at First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Samuel, Wharton; two daughters, Charlene Koehler, Brush Ridge; and Rosemary Craig, Morral; four grandchildren, Steven Koehler, Wharton; Cindy Frey, Columbus; and Jennifer Craig and Matthew Craig, Morral; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elouise Huffman-Davis, Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ora and Ralph Schindler; and three sisters, Melle Landversicht, Edith Shafer and Kathryn Jacoby.
A 1944 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Mrs. Koehler was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and of its women of the church. She was active in the church choir and was a former Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Koehler was serving as president of the Morral Village Council, on which she served several terms. She also was a volunteer with the American Bible Society, and enjoyed raising flowers, antiques and music.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home with the Revs. Carl Roepcke and Charles Steward officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is today any time after 12 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family present from 2-7 p.m.

Kathleen Loudenslager
CAREY - Kathleen Loudenslager, 91, of Findlay, died at her residence at 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004.
Born on March 7, 1913, in Arlington, she was a daughter of George W. and Sylvia (Hinton) Longworth. She married Clyde Groves and they later divorced. She then married Russell Loudenslager on July 2, 1938, in Findlay. He died Oct. 19, 1969.
Surviving are a son, Gary Groves, Findlay; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted Longworth, Findlay; and four sisters, Ruth Clabaugh, Mansfield; Alda Ritter and Beatrice Hotelling, Carey; and Janelle Holden, Joplin, Mo. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Longworth; and three sisters, Thelma Beltz, Gladys Jones and Virginia Longworth.
Mrs. Loudenslager was a homemaker, and was of Protestant faith. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing solitaire.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Brent Layne officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Memory Gardens, Arcadia. Visitation is at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
