Ellen Reel
Ellen A. Reel, formerly of County Highway 44, Nevada, and a resident of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since 1996, died at the facility at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004. She was 86.
A daughter of Curry and Maude (Neal) Sunderland, she was born in Van Wert on May 5, 1918. On Aug. 28, 1941, she married Jonathan Reel in Nevada. He died Feb. 17, 1967.
Surviving are five sons, Raymond Ault, Montana; Jonathan Jr., Harpster; Richard and Jake Reel, Upper Sandusky; and Eddie Dean Reel, Bucyrus; three daughters, Sharon Karg, Nevada; Fern Parker, Harpster; and Vicki Reel, Upper Sandusky; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Reel; four brothers, William, George, Elmer and Belva Sunderland; and five sisters, Eva, Phoebe, Ruby, Rebecca and Shirley.
Mrs. Reel was a homemaker.
She attended Union United Methodist Church in rural Upper Sandusky.
Mrs. Reel enjoyed collecting angels, country gospel music and spending time with family and friends.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with burial following in Nevada Cemetery. The Revs. Claude McKiddy and Sonja Bender will officiate. Visitation is Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nancy Ann Scheid
TIFFIN - Nancy Ann Scheid of Tiffin, died at her residence Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004. She was 74.
Born in Toledo on June 1, 1930, she was a daughter of Harry and Alma (Fillippi) Aubrey. She and Eldon"Al" Scheid were married in Tiffin on Jan. 13, 1951. He died Jan. 11, 2003.
Surviving are four sons, Gary, Chicago; Mark, Fort Eustis, Va.; Jim, Delaware; and Ron, New Bern, N.C.; a daughter, Janet Scheid, Tiffin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia Schwartz and Marcia Sherwood, Tiffin.
A 1948 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School, Mrs. Scheid was a housewife.
Mrs. Scheid was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and enjoyed playing cards with friends at Allen Eiry.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. James Say officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes before the service. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, Tiffin.

Stanley Riedel
SYCAMORE - Stanley Claude Riedel, 61, of Tiffin, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at his residence.
Born in Sycamore on Feb. 27, 1943, he was a son of Stanley H. and Helen M. (Walton) Riedel. He married Peggy Caldwell, and they later divorced. He and Shelly Rochester were married Sept. 8, 1984. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Tracy Riedel, Republic; four grandchildren, Tyler Riedel, Miranda Bingamon, Gabby Galan and Madison Galan; two brothers, Craig, Nevada; and Tobe, Tiffin; and two sisters, Carolyn Sigler and Cleone Hummel, rural Sycamore.
A 1961 graduate of Mohawk High School, Mr. Riedel was a general laborer for Crescent Manufacturing in Fremont for 20 years.
He was of Protestant faith.
Mr. Riedel served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received the National De-fense Service Medal, Viet-nam Service Medal, Viet-nam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore, with the Rev. Kelly Brown officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visi-tation is at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Fern Loudenslager
FINDLAY - Fern Evelyn Loudenslager, owner and operator of the former Ned's Market in Findlay, died Monday, August 9, 2004, at 1:02 p.m. at Birchaven Retirement Village, where she resided. She was 95.
Mrs. Loudenslager was born Feb. 24, 1909, in New Stark, Ohio to Harry Virden and Rosa Mae (Hall) Glasco. She married Ned Loudenslager July 14, 1934, and he died May 3, 1991. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Carl, Charlie, Homer and Lawrence Glasco; and sisters, Betty Edwards and Wanda Van Hook.
Mrs. Loudenslager was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Upper Sandusky. Prior to owning Ned's Market, she was employed at National Automotive Fibers and The Country Market in Findlay.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Birchaven Retirement Village chapel. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home in Findlay, and for one hour prior to services at the Birchaven chapel.

Fern Loudenslager
FINDLAY - Funeral services for Fern Evelyn Loudenslager will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Birchaven Retirement Village chapel in Findlay. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
Mrs. Loudenslager died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at 1:02 p.m. at Birchaven Retirement Village, at the age of 95.

Helen Brents
Helen G. Brents of Harpster and more recently a resident of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died at the facility at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004. She was 93.
Born in Mount Blanchard on March 3, 1911, she was a daughter of Austin and Della (Brown) Sink. She married Alvin L. Brents on June 3, 1929, in Fort Wayne, Ind. He died June 21, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Gary, Weston; three daughters, Joan Morral, Harpster; Sharon Montgomery, Findlay; and Marcia Brents, Westlake; eight grandchildren, Mike Morral, Upper Sandusky; Steve Morral, Florida; Vicki Washburn, Harpster; Kimberly Durbin, South Bend, Ind.; Kyle Brents, Weston; Karan Southwick, Bowling Green; and Melissa Montgomery-Clark and Mike Montgomery, Columbus; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kim Marie Brents; five brothers, Lynford, Cecil, Lowell, Ralph and Clyde Sink; and two sisters, Murl Weininger and Evelyn Eberly.
A 1928 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, Mrs. Brents was a homemaker. She and her husband also owned and operated The General Store in Harpster from 1945 until retiring in 1974.
Before her marriage, she worked at Tiffin Glass, and at one time, she worked at Flox’s Department Store in Upper Sandusky.
She was a 50-plus-year member of Harpster United Methodist Church, and served as church treasurer for many years, and also coordinated many dinners at the church.
Mrs. Brents was a member and past president of the Harpster Mother’s Club, was a member of the WSCS and served on the election board for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed sports, especially Ohio State, the Indians and Reds.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Harpster United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jackie Underhill officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home and at the church for an hour before the service.

Richard McColly
Richard J. "Judd"McColly, 191 Broadview St., Upper Sandusky, died at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004. He was 75.
Born in Champaign County on May 28, 1929, he was a son of William R. and Edna E. (Moore) McColly. He married Viola A. LeVan-Fisher on May 23, 1948. They were separated, and she survives in Upper Sandusky. He and Marjorie E. Beatty were married on Aug. 20, 1971. She died Feb. 10, 1999.
Also surviving are four sons, Roger and Richard R., Upper Sandusky; John, Marion; David, Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Bonnie Ratliff, Upper Sandusky; Cathy Brady, Clarksville, Tenn.; a stepson, Floyd Penwell, Forest; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Rhoden, Apache Junction, Ariz.; and Joyce Waits, Upper Sandusky; 16 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; a half brother, Don McColly, Cable; a half sister, Maxine McCutheon, Columbus; and a niece. He was preceded in death by a son, James; a stepson, Charles Penwell; a stepgrandchild; a brother, Marion; and a sister, Doris Henry.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. McColly worked as a farm hand in Champaign County. He also worked at Urban Mill Feed and Grain, and was a bulldozer operator for Roger Henry Excavating from 1964-82. He retired from Chief Dairy in 1987.
He was a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ.
Mr. McColly was a member of the VFW and participated in neighborhood sporting events. He was a Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds fan, enjoyed playing cards, hunting, going to garage sales, traveling to Arizona, listening to gospel country music and enjoyed his pet poodle, Buffy. He collected pens and hats.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Boswell officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. Sunday.

Mary Menningen
TIFFIN - Mary C. Menningen, 58, of Tiffin, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.
Born on Jan. 30, 1946, in Bellefontaine, she was a daughter of Wilbur and Shirley (Koenig) Benten. She married David F. Menningen in Fremont on April 27, 1968. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother in Fremont; two sons, Timothy, Toledo; and Gregory, Tiffin; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Daniel Benten, Cincinnati; and Michael Benten, Fremont. She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Angela Menningen.
A 1966 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Mrs. Menningen worked as a controller at Seneca Sheet Metal.
She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin, with the Rev. Tim Ferris officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There is no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
