Fern Cook
Fern Lewis Cook, formerly of Marion, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004 at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community, where she had been a resident since May 2001. She was 84.
Mrs. Cook was born Oct. 15, 1919, in Antrim Township, to Delta E. and Hester E. (Willoughby) Lewis. She married Marion C. Cook Nov. 12, 1962, and he died July 12, 1999.
Surviving are one brother Carl Lewis, Harpster; nephews Daniel, David, Michael, Mark, Tim, Rev. Craig and Robert Lewis; eight great-nephews; 10 great-nieces; nine great-great nephews; and three great-great nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne F. and Charles F. Lewis.
A graduate of Nevada High School, Mrs. Cook took post-graduate courses in Upper Sandusky and attended Ohio State University. She was an executive secretary for the Erie Railroad, Erie Lackawanna Railway and Conrail, retiring after 30 years, and worked at Corner Grocery Store in Marion for 13-1/2 years,
Mrs. Cook was a member of and held various offices in the National Association of Railway Business Women; a member of Central Christian Church in Marion, where she served as an elder for nine years; and a member of the Delray Rovers Camping Club. She and her late husband enjoyed camping and traveling. Mrs. Cook also enjoyed flowers, sewing, cooking, watching Lawrence Welk, and her pet dog, Skippy. She spent 27 years at Big Pine Key, Fla.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, with the Revs. Reid Miller and Cathy Wirth officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Cynthia Lenhart
KENTON - Cynthia Ann Lenhart, 94, Kenton, died at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Corinthian Nursing Facility in Kenton.
She was born May 1, 1910, in Prestonburg, Ky., to David and Margaret (Kilgore) Patrick. On Nov. 26, 1926, she married Ernest Lenhart in Norwalk.
Surviving are six daughters, Phyllis Kaiser, Harrod; Betty Richard, Cridersville; Joy Naglich, Las Vegas, Nev.; Shirley Combs and Gladys Sheets, both of Kenton; and Audrey Nichols, Forest; 36 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Estelle Patrick, Willard. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Lenhart was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home, Kenton, with the Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Visitation is from noon to 3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Cory Washburn
Cory A. Washburn, formerly of Upper Sandusky and more recently of Willard, died at 11:13 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, in Cleveland. He was 34.
Born in Upper Sandusky on June 8, 1970, he was a son of Roger Washburn of Bellevue, and Karen Lee of Upper Sandusky. On March 12, 2000, he married Krista Hursh in Las Vegas. She survives.
Also surviving are his father and stepmother, Nancy; mother and stepfather, Daniel; two sons, Trey, Upper Sandusky; and Ethan, Willard; a daughter, Cassie Shuff, Tiffin; a brother, Scott, Upper Sandusky; two sisters, Erica and Amy Washburn, Bellevue; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Betty Washburn, Morral; paternal stepgrandparents, Charlotte Thompson, Bellevue; and William Thompson and wife, Bonnie, Deltona, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Russell and Vera Swinehart, Upper Sandusky; and maternal stepgrandmother, Donna Lee, Carey; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Betty Swinehart.
A 1988 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Mr. Washburn had been active in wrestling, swing choir, plays and cross country. He attended Heidelberg College. Mr. Washburn was the director of operations for Zeppe's Pizzeria in Bedford Heights, and previously was the CEO of East of Chicago in Willard.
He attended First Lutheran Church, and had at one time served on church council.
Mr. Washburn enjoyed home remodeling and landscaping, music, singing, public speaking and learning. He enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises, and adventure sports, such as white water rafting, snorkeling and para-sailing. Mr. Washburn was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed fine dining and had been an Eagle Scout.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Steward officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday anytime after 12 p.m., with the family present from 2-9 p.m.

Fred Forsyth
LUFKIN, Texas - Fred R. Forsyth, 65, of Huntington, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at his residence.
Born Aug. 26, 1938, in Lykens, he was a son of Fred Henry and Mary (Pope) Forsyth. He is survived by his wife, Wilmoth.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cindy Smalley, Sycamore; and Barbara Ware, Lufkin; a stepson, Howard Bench, Sterling Heights, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Susan Tucker, Huntington; four grandchildren, Krystal Smalley, Cody Smalley, David Ware and Brianna Ware; two stepgrandchildren, Kenneth John Bench and Abby Bench; and two cousins.
Mr. Forsyth was a retired machinist for Lufkin Industries, where he worked for 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and working in his yard. He was a horseman and had been involved in 4-H, and had resided in the Huntington area for more than 17 years.
Memorials services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin, Texas, with the Rev. Blackie Cranford officiating. Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beverly Hemm
BUCYRUS - Beverly C. Hemm, 57, of Bucyrus, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at her home.
Born in Bucyrus on March 3, 1947, she was a daughter of Wilbur and Camilla (Painter) Adams. On April 12, 1971, she married Kenneth Hemm, who survives.
Also surviving are her father in Nevada; three children, Christopher, Los Angeles; Missi Grove, Bucyrus; and Kory, Napoleon; three grandchildren, Hannah Grove, Chloe Grove and Lily Hemm; two brothers, Norman Adams, Deep Gap, N.C.; and Fred Adams, Madison Heights, Va.; and a sister, Janet Jacobs, Naperville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her mother.
In 1965, Mrs. Hemm graduated from Wynford High School with honors, and later owned and operated Bev's Custom Graphics and Screen in Bucyrus. She also was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hemm was a secretary/treasurer for the Wynford Athletic Boosters, was a longtime member of the Bucyrus Area Jaycees, secretary and president of Girl Scout Troop No. 324 in Nevada, and had been an active member of Rainbow Girls.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus, with Gary Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home today from 5-7 p.m. and from 12-2 p.m. Thursday.

Helen Johnson
Helen (Armbruster) Johnson of Frostproof, Fla., died at her home early Tuesday morning, Aug. 17, 2004. She was 78.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Wyandot County, and later lived in Columbus before retiring in Florida.
Her services are with the Jerry Spears Company Funeral Home on West Broad Street in Columbus.
Rylan Scott Ogg
Rylan Scott Ogg was stillborn at 7:41 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
He was a son of Scott J. and Stephanie D. (Freeman) Ogg, both of whom survive in Upper Sandusky.
Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Donald and Barbara Freeman, Marion; paternal grandfather, Melvin Sanford, Upper Sandusky; and two brothers, Ryan and Alec Ogg, Upper Sandusky. He was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Joyce Sanford.
Services will be private with the Rev. Charles Steward officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, and there will be no visitation.

Claude Sanders
CAREY - Claude E. Sanders, 316 e St., Sycamore, died at 3:47 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, from injuries sustained in an accident on Ohio 50 near Chillicothe. He was 50.
Born in Satana, Kan., on April 15, 1954, he was a son of Charles E. and Faye L. (Dillinger) Sanders. He married Kathy C. McAdams on Dec. 15, 1973, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kirby. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven, Auburn, N.Y.; and Micky, Stilwell, Okla.; a daughter, Christina Sanders, Sycamore; seven grandchildren, Johnathan, Brendan, Erin, Shyla, Marissa, Kyle and Logan; and four brothers, Vinnie, Stilwell; Mark, Maud, Okla.; Charlis, Reno, Nev.; and Sequoya, Stilwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Malleah Sanders.
Mr. Sanders was a truck driver for Triple A Trucking in Vanlue. He graduated from Flaming Rainbow University in Stilwell with a bachelor of science degree.
He was of Presbyterian faith.
Mr. Sanders was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam war. He be-longed to the Cherokee Nation of Ok-lahoma, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in the family cemetery in Stilwell.
Visitation is at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, from 5-7 p.m. today.

Kristie Koehler
Kristie Koehler, 240C Richardson Drive, Upper Sandusky, died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Tiffin Mercy Hospital in Tiffin.
She was born Aug. 18, 2004, in Tiffin to Jason G. and Sherrill A. (Bair) Koehler. They survive.
Also surviving are grandparents Gary and Dianna Koehler, Upper Sandusky; and Mark and Donna Schriner and Dave Bair, Republic; five great-grandparents; a brother, Scott Koehler; and two sisters, Hope and Kaitlynn Koehler.
Graveside services were held in Old Mission Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Elsholz officiating.
Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Wilbur Park
Wilbur L. Park, 89, of New Bloomington, died at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at Marion General Hospital.
A son of Robert D. and Lula (Karnes) Park, he was born in Marion County on Sept. 28, 1914. He married Vera D. Murphy on March 8, 1936, in Mount Victory. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Myron, LaRue; three grandchildren, Darrin Park, New Bloomington; Arlin Park, LaRue; and Natalie Morgan, Columbus; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Warren, Fremont; and Darrel, Upper Sandusky; five sisters, Mabel Montgomery, Marion; Alice Cottrell, Harpster; Pauline Hotelling and Margaret Hotelling, Upper Sandusky; and Kathleen Landon, Cuyahoga Falls. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Clyde and Raymond; and two sisters, Florence Weaver and Mildred Donhua.
Mr. Park graduated from Meeker High School in 1933. He farmed his entire life, and in later years, did so with his son, Myron.
He was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church in Marion.
Mr. Park was a member of Farm Bureau, and enjoyed putting in a full day of work on the farm.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Durtche. Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Brush Ridge. Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
