Funeral services for Clinton native Ricky G. Ingram, 52, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of God.
Brother Roy Dobbs and Chaplain Dan Day will officiate with burial following in the Clinton Cemetery under direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home.
Services also are scheduled at 7 o’clock tonight in Oklahoma City at the Resthaven Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Ingram was an Oklahoma City businessman who had begun his career in Clinton.
He died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City of complications from cancer, which he had battled for 8½ years.
Ricky Glenn Ingram was born Dec. 19, 1951, in Clinton to Glenn Ingram Jr. and Melba (Morrison) Ingram. He grew up on the family farm east of town and graduated from Clinton High School in 1970. He was active in the Future Farmers of America, winning numerous awards for his breeding and showing of Hereford livestock.
Ingram continued to farm while earning a degree in agriculture education from Oklahoma State University.
On Jan. 10, 1976, he married Linda Sweeney of Clinton at Las Vegas, Nev. They made their home here where, in addition to farming, he worked in the oil fields and designed the first freshwater system for oil drilling.
In 1986 he started a limousine service in Clinton, later moving it to Oklahoma City as King Limousine Service. He was instrumental in bringing the first super-stretch limousine service to Oklahoma City, and he and the drivers who worked for him transported many celebrities over the years. In 1995, he was in charge of transportation arrangements for the international news media that covered the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building, personally driving many of the television news anchors and their crews.
Among the celebrities from various walks of life that he had driven were Dan Rather, Connie Chung, Michael Douglas, Newt Gingrich, Reba McIntyre, Willie Nelson, Tobie Keith, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Mick Jagger and Gerry Hall.
His vehicles also picked up and delivered many organs for transplant.
Ingram’s wife worked with him in the business and was involved with him in a number of mobile home parks. They owned parks in Oklahoma City, Blanchard and Clinton, as well as other western Oklahoma communities, and formerly owned the large Meridian Sooner Mobile Home Park near Tinker Air Force Base.
Ingram enjoyed buying established parks, renovating and landscaping them, and increasing their property values.
He also bought antiques and collected automobiles.
Ingram was a member of the First Church of God in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home in Oklahoma City; three sons and their wives, Richie and Amanda Ingram of Duncan, Bob and Amy Ingram, Clinton, and Ricky and Samantha Ingram, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Ashley Ingram, Notre Dame, Ind.; two grandchildren, Ryan Ingram, Edmond, and Alexis Ingram, Duncan; one sister, Teri Ingram-Haskett, Custer City; his mother-in-law, Christine Sweeney, Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Dr. Diane Sweeney, Omaha, Neb., and Jolene Singleterry (and husband Keith) Chickasha; and a special family friend, Jana Quattlebaum, Norman.
Ingram was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert Kirk Ingram.

Funeral slated for Lyda Roof at 1:30 pm
Funeral services for Lyda Pearl (Murray) Roof, age 91 of Weatherford, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church at Weatherford with Rev. Lynn Brack officiating.
Roof was a member of the United Methodist Church and an officer with the UMW organization.
In her 91 years she was a farm wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She lived in Custer County her entire life.
She worked at various times as a family historian, a public school cook and a quilter — having made each of her children and grandchildren a handmade quilt sewn especially for that person.
She provided her five children with clothing made by her own hand washed in soap she had made.
And she played the piano while her husband played his hand-made fiddles.
Burial will follow in the Mound Valley Cemetery at Thomas under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford.
Survivors include five children, Kathryn Laughlin of Del City, Phyllis Cohlmia of Oklahoma City, Belva Settles of Ridgecrest, Calif., Rita Gregory of Fallbrook, Calif., Dwayne (Ocie) Roof of Weatherford; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 56 years Ocie Edwin Roof, Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Tony Murray, Pink Murray; a sister, Hazel Murray; two sons, one in infancy and another at 18 months, Edwin Dale.
The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions in her honor to the First United Methodist Church at Weatherford.

Funeral services for Rick Ingram, age 52, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Resthaven Funeral Home in Oklahoma City and at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of God in Clinton.
Ingram died Friday afternoon, July 2, 2004, at Integris Southwest Hospital in Oklahoma City following an eight-year battle with cancer.
He grew up in Clinton but had lived since the 1980s in Oklahoma City. He and his wife, Linda, owned and operated King Limousines as well as various mobile home parks.
Stanley-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton is in charge of arrangements and plans to release a full obituary for Tuesday’s newspaper.

Funeral services for Troy Clyde Smith, age 85 of Dill City, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the McClure Funeral Home in Cordell with Truman Teel officiating.
Smith was born on Feb. 3, 1919 in Hollis, the son of Andrew Jackson and Eliza (Blagg) Smith. He died on Monday, June 28, 2004, at the Clinton Veterans Center.
Clyde lived and worked in the Dill City Area most of his life before entering the Veterans Center in 1987. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were a sister, Edna Smith; and a brother, Oars Smith.
Interment will follow in the South Burns Cemetery.

Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia C. (Castro) Ornelas, age 44 of Clinton, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton with Father Carl Janocha officiating.
A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Ornelas died very unexpectedly at University Hospital in Oklahoma City on Monday, June 28, 2004. She was born on April 22, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Manuel and Eloisa (La Soya) Castro, Sr.
Reared in Clinton, she attended grade school here and then moved to Elk City. Only recently had she moved back to Clinton.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed Mexican dances and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, Eloisa Castro; a daughter, Rosalinda Ornelas; three sons, Frank DeLeon of Clinton, Ernestro, Jr., Jose Ornelas, all of Clinton; sisters, Rosemarie Padgett of Mississippi, Juanita Castro of Oklahoma City; brothers, Manuel of Clinton, Joe of Mississippi, Arnulfo of Clinton; five grandchildren; eight nieces; six nephews; seven great nieces; and 14 great nephews.

Jerry Berry rites Friday at 1:10 pm
Funeral services for Jerry Lynn Berry, age 50 of Cordell, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Cordell with R.B. Mathis and Doyle
Berry died Monday, June 28, 2004, at the Cordell Christian Home. He was born on Sept. 9, 1953 at Delano, Calif., the son of Dalton and Rosa Berry.
The family moved back to Cordell when Jerry was only a baby, and he spent most of his life in the Cordell and Dill City area.
He started working at an early age helping his father gather eggs at the Jigg’s Chicken Farm west of Cordell and graduated from Cordell High School in 1971.
He loved playing baseball and football and had worked for Gotebo Trucking before moving to Arlington, Texas where he worked for Glassrock Homehealth Care.
In 1984 he married Susan Monor, and later they moved back to Cordell.
In 1992 he started working for the City of Cordell in the water and electric departments. He went on to become the sexton for the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell until he became ill in December of 2003.
He enjoyed fishing and playing golf as well as working in his vegetable garden, sharing the produce.
His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Fred Truman Powers, age 58 of Corn, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Corn with burial in the Alfalfa Cemetery under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford.
Powers died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. He was born on May 4, 1946 in Carnegie, the son of Fred and Orvilla (Ratliff) Powers.
The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions to the Crow’s Roost Volunteer Fire Department at Fort Cobb Lake.

Funeral services for Clarence Albert Pringle, age 78 and a former Clinton resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton with minister Patrick Peters officiating.
Pringle died Saturday, June 26, 2004, in the Prairie House Living Center at Plainview, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1925 in Clinton, the son of Mable Kerns and Clarence Pringle.
Reared in the Stafford community where he attended school, Pringle married Minnie Weil on Aug. 7, 1943 in Sayre.
He soon enlisted in the U.S. Army on Feb. 2, 1944 during World War II.
He served on the Tinan Island in the South Pacific with the 374th General Hospital Division as an auto mechanic.
Pringle reached the rank of tech sergeant and was honorably discharged on March 26, 1946.
He moved his family to the San Diego, Calif. area until 1953. He then returned to Hale Center, Texas where he owned and operated a mechanic shop until he retired in 1966.
Pringle was a member of the Church of Christ, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
He, along with his wife, moved to Clinton in 1990 to be near his wife’s ailing mother. They later moved back to Texas.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were a sister, Minnie Belle Pringle; and three brothers, Leroy Pringle, Billy Potts and William Dale Pringle.
Burial will conclude in the Parkersburg Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie, of Plainview, Texas; three daughters, Lillie Davis and her husband, Gary, of Hale Center, Texas, Mrs. Bill (Paula) King of Clinton, Marie Bland of Hale Center, Texas; a son, David Pringle and his wife, Nomi, of Denton, Texas; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters, Georgie Dunbar of San Diego, Calif. and Artie Fay McCoy of Santee, Calif.
