Juneau resident Jerry Jones died Dec. 18, 2007, in Juneau. He was 61.

Timothy Rollmann
Former Juneau resident Timothy Kent "Tim" Rollman died unexpectedly on Sept. 25, 2007, at his home in Searcy, Ark., where he lived for the past three years. He was 50.
He was born March 29, l957, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Kent and Norma Lou Hamilton Rollmann of Searcy.
He worked as a paralegal for 20 years. His favorite place of work was at the law firm of Faulkner Banfield in Juneau, where he was a paralegal for five years.
He is survived by his parents; sister, Kristy Shelton and her husband, Cliff; a nephew, Tyler "Ty" Shelton; and a niece, Alex Shelton, all of Duluth, Ga.
He requested that his ashes be taken to his favorite place in Juneau that was always in his heart, even after he moved away from Juneau.
Memorial gifts may be made to Searcy Children's Home or the American Heart Association.
Nicholas Joseph Vonda Jr.
Former Juneau resident Nicholas Joseph Vonda Jr. died unexpectedly on Oct. 4, 2007, at Mount Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka, while being treated for pneunomia. He was 60.
Born Jan. 23, 1947, in Juneau, to Joe and Ella Vonda, he was third to the oldest of nine brothers and two sisters. He was Deisheetaan of the Deishuhit and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 in Korea. He also was a member of the Sitka American Legion, Sitka Moose Lodge, Labor Union 71 and a fisherman on the Katherine S.
At an early age, his father taught him to play the guitar. All the brothers eventually became musicians in varying degrees of expertise. He became a professional musician, traveling throughout the Lower 48, performing with Bill Evans as the Timber Tramps.
In Juneau, he formed the Vonda Brothers Band, playing in various bars, hired to perform at many special events. When he moved to Sitka in 1981, he continued performing with a variety of musicians. Eventually, as a solo act, he became known as "Nick at Night."
He was employed as a maintenance technician for the Mount Edgecumbe School District. People who worked with him praised his work ability, knowledge, ethics and dependability, his family said. One co-worker described how he was good for the group: "Whenever our crew was having a bad day and bickering, Nick would end the day by saying 'OK, group hug.'"
His caring made him a very special co-worker, his family said. He enjoyed his job very much, especially when doing service calls for staff and students at the school.
He enjoyed fishing, photography, gardening, cooking and working with his hands to build things. According to his family, he was well known for his loving, caring and understanding for family and friends. He would always contribute his time to the betterment of life through his music, they said.
"He definitely left a positive influence on many people and will truly be missed," his family said. "Rest in peace, Nick. We love you."
He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Joseph Vonda Sr.; brothers, Robert, Richard and Joe Vonda; and granddaughter, Alexa Vonda.
He is survived by his mother, Ella Vonda; sisters, Josephine Nelson and her husband, Bruce, and Janet McCarty and her husband, Tim; brothers, Norman, Bob, Ray, John and Rudy Vonda; the mother of his three children, Marjorie Buckner; children, Beverly, Nick III and Jason Vonda and their half siblings, Allen Locke, Terry Bermudez and Tonya Vonda; grandchildren, Tonie, Jamie, Margorie, Natalie, Carrie, Renee, Haley, Chloe, Nick IV, Kendra, Kayloni, Paul and Jordon Vonda; great-granddaughter, Natalia Vonda; companion, Esther Lawson and her children, Brian, Missy, Lisa, Angela and Debbie Martin, Valeri Barkhoefer and her husband, Ty, and Bill Evans; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends across Alaska and the Lower 48.
Memorial services will be held at noon today at the Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Bruce Edmund Hinke
Longtime Juneau resident Bruce Edmund Hinke died Oct. 3, 2007, in Juneau. He was 62.
Born Nov. 30, 1944, he was a Juneau resident for 59 years. He attended Juneau-Douglas High School and was a medical corpsman for the U.S. Navy. He worked as a computer technician for the Department of Labor.
He enjoyed hiking local trails and sport-fishing with his family.
He is survived by his son, Shayne Hinke, of Juneau; granddaughter, Veronica Hinke, of Juneau; brother, Keith Hinke, of Juneau; mother, Eleanor Hinke, of Juneau; father, Edmund Hinke, of Port Angeles, Wash.
Beverly Alice Williams
Lifelong Alaskan Beverly Alice Skeek Loy Williams died Oct. 8, 2007, in Anchorage, following a brief battle with cancer. She was 74.
She was born Nov. 28, 1932, to Thomas L. and Amy Skeek in Kake. She was a Petersburg resident for many years.
She was a junior soldier in the Salvation Army and a member of the Anchorage Salvation Army Citadel for 18 years. According to her family, she was an accomplished seamstress who learned to work with upholstery. She particularly enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her outstanding cooking and baking and was especially well known for her delicious baked desserts, which were served at many potlucks and Salvation Army functions, her family said.
Her family said she had a great passion for beachcombing and gathered many food items from the beaches of Southeast Alaska in traditional style, which she generously shared with others. She was a great inspiration to her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, they said.
She was a member of Sealaska Corp., and was active in the Petersburg Chapter of the Women of the Moose, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She gave generously of her time and commitment to the organizations she belonged to, her family said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Amy Skeek; a sister, Shirley Kuwata; two infant brothers; and first husband, Dave Loy, father of Kevin Loy.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Williams; son, Kevin Loy; granddaughter, Jasmine Nicole Loy; and brothers, Leonard and Reggie Skeek.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Salvation Army Anchorage Corps, 2100 DeArmoun Road. In accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be scattered along Sandy Beach in Petersburg.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army Anchorage Corps to further its mission in Alaska.
