Patrick Dean Johnson
Juneau resident Patrick Dean Johnson died July 17, 2010, at home after a long struggle with illness. He also endured numerous surgeries over the course of five years resulting from a job injury.
He was born March 21, 1960, in Minot, N.D. He made his home in Juneau for the last 15 years and worked as a glazier at Perseverance Glass Co.
He lived his life serving God and whoever was on that path.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Judith and Dennis Johnson of Everett, Wash.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Angela M. Johnson of Juneau; his brother Perry Johnson and nieces Heather and Holly Johnson of Everett Wash.; his children Sharon (and Tim) Love, Carmea (and Chris) Davis and Phillip Daetwiler; his grandchildren Corporal Aaron Howard, Zachary Love, Rebekkah and Tamara Howard, Hannah, Farrah and Jonah Davis, Olivia Hickman, Payton, Crysta, Savannah and Makayla Daetwiler and his great grandson Isaac Aaron Coronell.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on July 21 at the Glacier Valley Church of God.
Heather Irene Hosford
Heather Irene Hosford passed away unexpectedly July 16, 2010 in Mesa, Ariz.
Born November 26, 1976 to Mike and Susan Hosford, Heather spent the first seven years of her life in her beloved Dyea (Skagway) with her sister Rachel. She later lived in Petersburg, Fairbanks, and Juneau. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1994, and attended the University of Alaska Southeast.
Heather was a devoted and loving mother. She had a great sense of humor, a strong spirituality, and showed kindness to all she met. Anyone who knew Heather will remember her for her commitment to family and friends, compassionate soul, love of animals and the outdoors, and interest in astrology and angelology. She will be missed, but will always live in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Brian Meier, her mother Susan Hosford, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her sons Tyler, Mike and Andrew Burns; father Mike Hosford of Skagway; sister Rachel Hosford Spence and husband Darren of Mesa, Ariz.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Heather's life will be held at 2 p.m. September 11 in Dyea (Skagway), Alaska at the Chilkoot Trail Outpost.
In lieu of flowers, the Heather Hosford Memorial Fund has been set up at Wells Fargo to be used in support of her three sons.

Carol Ann Morris
Longtime Juneau and Haines resident Carol Ann Morris peacefully passed away on June 21, 2010 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage after a long illness. She was 59.
She was born in San Marcos, Texas on January 18, 1951 to Lloyd F. and Norma Jean Martin and was raised in Irving, Texas. She moved to Alaska in the summer of 1982. She made her home in Juneau and worked as a bank teller for the First National Bank of Anchorage's Channel Branch until 1998 and moved to Haines shortly after.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Norma Jean and a nephew, Michael Hastings.
She is survived by her sons: Kenny Kinnamon of Texas, Jay D. Morris of Pittsburgh, Kevin S. Morris of Grants Pass, Ore., sister Mary (Gerald) Hastings of Bedford, Texas, niece Shelly Morrison of Texas and numerous relatives in Texas and Kansas.
At Carol's request, her ashes will be spread by her sons, no service will be held.
Margaret A. Fuelling
Margaret A. Fuelling of Caldwell, Idaho died July 20, 2010. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.
Margaret was born August 4, 1921 at Glenwood, Minn., a daughter if Clyde A. Cooley and Ella Carson Cooley. She attended elementary school at District 67 in Pope County, Minn. In 1935, she moved with her family to Caldwell, Idaho where she attended high school. She attended business school in Boise for a year. She became a Christian in Minnesota and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Boise.
She worked for Pacific Fruit and Produce, Olson Company and the Morrison-Knudsen Company, Inc. at various construction sites until her marriage to Bernard Fuelling in 1948 at Storrie, Calif. They lived in Folsom and Paradise, Ca where Bernard was employed on dam construction jobs. Bernard died in Calif. Margaret moved to Alaska in 1974, and was employed by an air charter service and worked on the Alaska pipeline. She also worked for the State of Alaska Social Services, the Department of Labor and retired from the State of Alaska in Juneau as an accountant and collection manager.
After leaving Alaska, Margaret lived in Sacramento, Calif. She and her grandson enjoyed several trips together. In 1988, she moved back to Caldwell to be close to her sister, Marjorie. Margaret enjoyed bowling, reading and traveling. One year she read 74 books, with one being "War and Peace." The next year she read 53 and one of those was the Bible. While in Juneau, she traveled to Baltimore and to Bermuda. She traveled from Sacramento to New Zealand, Sydney, Australia and Fiji. She also went to the British Isles, Siberia, Faeroe Islands and Iceland, Greece, Turkey, Costa Rica and a trip by boat from Vienna to the Black Sea on the Danube, Eastern and Western Canada as well as some of the United States.
Survivors include sons Wayne N. Fuelling and Neal A. Fuelling (Laura) of California; her sisters Marjorie LaRue of Caldwell, Idaho and Ruth Wulf (Warren) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her brother Dean Cooley (Peggy) of Cedar City, Utah and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Cooley, niece Joanne Hinkle, an infant son Kenneth and her beloved grandson Arthur. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
Paul Dean Paxton
Former Juneau resident Paul Dean Paxton passed away at home on June 27, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 27, 1942 in Pratt, Kan. to Orval and Evelyn Paxton, he was raised in Middleton. He enlisted in the Navy from 1959 to 1968. In his lifetime, he spent time in Antarctica, Guam, Juneau, Hawaii, and California before settling in Nampa, Idaho.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 38 years, Connie Lee (Clark) Paxton, their sons Jay of Oakland, Calif., Mike and wife Joelle of Boulder, Colo., his son Tom Brown, wife Monica and their children Nicole, Shannon, and Gary Dean of Boise, Idaho; granddaughters Chane' and Shelby Nelson of Nampa, Idaho; siblings, Dan Paxton, Pat White, Sherry Miller, Kathy Woodfin, Linda Hemsley and Debby Flynn.
Paul was preceded in death by a baby girl Christiona Marie, and a step-daughter Jodi Nelson.

Graveside services were July 1, 2010 at Idaho State Veterans' Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with full military honors.
