Shirley Neal Teseneer
Shirley Neal Teseneer, 60, died Aug. 9, 1999 at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, S.C.
Born in Honea Path, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Obbie Claymond and Annie Mae Harter Neal.
She was retired from personnel work for the State of Alaska. She was a member of a local harmony group in Juneau, and was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church in Greenwood, S.C., and the Church of Christ in Juneau.
Survivors include her husband Gary L. Teseneer; two daughters, Vikki T. Gowan of Greenwood, S.C. and Gina T. Schmitz of Juneau; a son, Stan L. Teseneer of Bradley, S.C.; four sisters, Florence Owens of Belton, S.C., Blanche Gilmer, Irene Heck, and Frances Vaughn, all of Honea Path, S.C.; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church, Greenwood, S.C., with Rev. Leland S. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, S.C., from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening.

Ellen Raney Jones
Longtime Juneau resident Ellen Raney Jones died Dec. 8, 1998, at her home in Juneau, after a year-long struggle with lymphoma cancer.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Chapel by the Lake.
She was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Carlsbad, N.M., and raised in La Junta, Colo. She attended nursing school in Denver, and after graduating as a registered nurse, she stayed in Denver to care for polio patients. During World War II she worked on the highly classified Los Alamos project.
Looking for a little adventure, she applied for jobs in Alaska and was offered a nursing position in Nome in 1946. She met her husband there and they were married in April of 1947. They moved to Gustavus later that year, and to Juneau in 1950. The family returned to Nome in 1960, to Cantwell in 1963, and back to Juneau in 1965. They also lived in Sitka from 1969 to 1972.
She worked for Dr. Ken Moss and enjoyed meeting and helping care for children in Juneau for almost 25 years. She loved her friends, her life in the church, sewing and other crafts, socializing, playing the piano and organ, and the closeness of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse H. Jones of Juneau, son and daughter- in-law Doug and JoAnn Jones, and their children Scott and Meridith, of Juneau; daughter and son-in-law Sidney and Steve Nelson, and their children Victor, Timothy, Able and Faith, of Game Creek, Alaska; daughter Christy Jones of Juneau; and daughter and son-in-law Beth and David Schwartzengraber and their family Naomi, Jessica, Jeremy, Stephen, Alex, Hannah, and Tiffany Schwartzengraber of Juneau.

Jerry Cash Cole
Former Juneau resident Jerry Cash Cole died July 3, 1999, in Tacoma, Wash. He was 44.
He was born Jan. 13, 1955, in Valdez. He was a truck driver for Reliable Transfer in Juneau before moving to Anchorage and then to the Seattle - Tacoma area.
He is survived by his son Jeremy Brien Cole of Wenatchee, Wash., his mother Coleen P. O'Brien of Seattle, sister Sherry Cole of Juneau and brother Brien Cole of Anchorage.

Maynard P. Peterson
Former Juneau resident Maynard P. Peterson of East Wenatchee, Wash., died July 8, 1999, at Central Washington Hospital from injuries resulting from an automobile accident July 3. He was 83.
He was born Nov. 19, 1915, in Grand Forks, N.D., to Peder and Mary (Reiten) Peterson. He moved to Peterson, N.D., where he attended and graduated from high school.
He moved to Juneau in 1935, and married Joyce Weymouth Fowler in 1941. He was a commercial fisherman, and owned and operated Mendenhall Dairy from 1950 to 1961. They moved to Washington in 1961, and settled in Wenatchee in 1989.
He was a life member of Juneau Elks BPOE number 420.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of Wenatchee, children Kay VanKeuren of California, Ronald Peterson of Juneau, Dody White of Ketchikan, John Peterson, Linda Nestor, David Peterson and Donna Winkley of Washington, sisters Dorothy Sewill of Juneau and Gen Malherek and Lorraine Howell of Washington, brothers Don of Washington, Bob of Juneau, and Jerry Peterson of Hoonah, and daughter-in-law Janis Peterson of Washington, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by daughter Linda and son Lee.
At the request of the family there will be no services.
Susan Helene Harris
Former Juneau resident Susan Helene Harris died on July 23, 1998, in Costa Mesa, Calif. A potluck dinner to celebrate her life will be held at 5 p.m. on Aug. 8, at the home of Dixie Belcher, 1991 Hughes Way in Juneau.
Harris was born on June 4, 1947, in San Francisco, Calif., to Phyllis Murdey and Frank P. Homan. She graduated from Ketchikan High School in 1966, and attended a medical technician training school in Seattle. She lived in Juneau for many years before moving to Southern California in 1983.
Harris enjoyed floral design and cooking. She will be remembered for her generosity and devotion, her family said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Phyllis Homan, and her close friend Doug Herring.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Frank and Janie Homan of Juneau; brother Peter Woolery of Washington; nephew Tim Homan of Bellingham; nieces Kristin Schultz of Juneau, and Pepper, Katy and Keri Woolery of Washington; aunt Dorothy Loris of California; and former husband Dennis Harris of Juneau. She also leaves a large extended family in Ketchikan, Juneau, Bellingham, Seattle and California.
