Donald Crosby Plummer
Longtime Juneau and Skagway resident Donald Crosby Plummer died Dec. 5, 1998, in Juneau.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at DIPAC. Another service will be held in Skagway at a later date, and will be announced.
He was born July 10, 1944, in Akron, Ohio. His family moved to Los Angeles, where he attended high school and junior college. He took many professional and technical courses during his more than 20 year career in the telecommunications industry. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve in California.
He lived in Juneau from 1976 to 1992, and in Skagway from 1992 until 1998. He married Sioux Plummer on May 6, 1977, outdoors at the Shrine of St. Therese.
Plummer was also a small business owner for 12 years; he owned and operated Orca Screenworks in Juneau and The Skagway Inn in Skagway. He was a member of the Skagway Eagles Aerie 25 and the Skagway Elks.
His family writes that he was an excellent self-taught photographer and screen printer. He loved quality music of all kinds, a good meal and a great glass of wine. He cherished the peace and beauty of the wilderness, and loved fly fishing for steelhead. His family greatly appreciated his wacky sense of humor, brilliant imagination, joy for life and loyal devotion to his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart C. and Catherine S. Plummer of Los Angeles.
He is survived by his wife Sioux of Juneau, son James S. Plummer and fiancee Lian Hulk, and Timothy S. Cunningham and daughter-in-law Kelly, all of Skagway, daughter Carrie Pusich and son-in-law Mark of Juneau, daughter Stacey Kozakar and son-in-law Jack of Glendale, Calif., sister Dianne Rammon of Bodenheim, Germany, stepmother Ruth Plummer of Los Angeles, and five grandchildren, Hailey and Jeffrey Pusich, Matthew Cunningham, and Taylor and Siera Kozakar.

Priscilla Corpuz
Longtime Juneau resident Priscilla Corpuz died Aug. 6, 1999 at Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau. She was 76.
She was born Jan. 21, 1923 in Angoon, the third of 10 children born to Albert and Mary Dick, also known by their respective Tlingit names, Kaatdaa and Koowaa. Priscilla was a member of the Kaagwaantaan clan and was a member of the Ch'aak Kudei Hit, or Eagle Nest House. Her Tlingit name was Tsayis.
On Dec. 28, 1952 she married Macario (Mac) H. Corpuz, Sr., and the couple make their home in Juneau. Their marriage of 36 years ended with his death in 1988.
She worked in the canneries of Excursion Inlet, Hoonah, Hawk Inlet and she was a Bible school teacher for children in Juneau and Douglas. She also worked with the court system on behalf of Native children. She was a hostess at the House of Wickersham, Baranof Hotel and the Governor's Mansion. She worked at Bartlett Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Alaska Native Sisterhood, the Filipino Community, Goldbelt, Inc., Sealaska Corp., and served as one of first members of the Auke Tribe Council. She was a lifetime member of the Alaska Native Sisterhood.
Priscilla's family writes that she loved singing with the prayer groups, gardening, picking berries, sewing, knitting and supporting children in sports. She also enjoyed the Native culture. She was mother and grandmother to all in whom she was greatly pleased and honored. She had a warm and loving smile for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Wayne and David Morgan; daughter Karen Morgan; sisters Naomi Kanosh, Helen Flood, Lydia Dick, Lillian Fawcett and her brother William Dick.
Survivors include sons Fred Morgan, Jr., Timothy Morgan, Macario "Mac" Corpuz, Jr., Robert Corpuz, Michael Corpuz (Marti); daughters Carole Morgan, Marlene Corpuz, Elena Corpuz (Andrew Maas), Evelyn Corpuz and Eleanor Williams.
She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Dick of Skagway, Albert Judson of Juneau and Joe Judson of Hoonah, and sister Rachel Jennings of Washington, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Juneau Tlingit and Haida Community Council Center, with a reception to follow. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Juneau Tlingit and Haida Community Council Center, with dinner following the burial.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Dick, Doug James, Kenny Merculief, Wally Marvin, Don Nowlin and Kurt Milnes.
Honorary pallbearers are Cyril George, Sr., Dony Corpus, Sr., Joe Bennett, Sr., Matthew Fred, Sr., Ron Williams, Paul Johnson, Victor Johnson, Kenneth James, Kenny Perkins, Chuck Jennings, Lucy DeAsis, Marie Olsen, Elsie John, Selina Everson, Edna James, Diane Church, Ruby Nelson and Lillian Parduhn.
James M. Erickson Sr.
James M. Erickson Sr., died Aug. 7, 1999 in Hoonah. He was adopted by his father-in-law, Johnny James, into the Raven Moiety, Takdeintaan Clan, Snail House. His Tlingit name was Naakwei.
He was born June 30, 1920 in Stanwood, Wash. and lived in Hoonah for more than 50 years.
He owned a commercial hand-trolling fishing boat called the "We Three" for a time, and also worked at Mount Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka as an ambulance driver.
His family writes that he was an avid supporter of school children and he and his wife Alice raised more than 30 foster children. He worked as a custodian for the Hoonah schools for more than 20 years and upon his retirement, in appreciation for his many years of service, the school district's administrative building was dedicated in his name. He loved to play the guitar and yodel, loved his chickens, was an expert gardener and loved the sport of baseball. He knew his stats.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Erickson, sisters Tillie Specht, Myrtle West and Betty West of Washington state, and brothers Robert and Howard Erickson.
Survivors include sons Jim Erickson, Jr., (Mary); Bobby Erickson (Darlene); grandchildren Theresa, Jay, Jessie, Jamie, Christopher and Jordon, and great-granddaughter Alison E. Schoonover. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives, including foster children.
Mary K. Reed
Longtime Juneau resident Mary K. Reed died in Juneau on Aug. 8, 1999.
A wake is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Moose Lodge, with a memorial service to be held on Sept. 17.
Jason and Jessica Lidholm
A celebration of life memorial service for Jason and Jessica Lidholm, who died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at Auke Bay Bible Church, 11970 Glacier Highway, across from Fisherman's Bend.
Judith Alstead Nance
Longtime Juneau resident Judith Alstead Nance, 82, died April 4, 1999, at her daughter's home in Austin, Texas, after a long illness. A full obituary and notice of memorial services will run at a later date.
