Fobe Peres
Juneau resident Fobe Peres died suddenly on July 16, 1998. A gathering of her friends will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Glacier Gardens visitor's center, the botanical gardens at 7 mile Glacier Hwy.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1957, in Montana, to Warren and Florence Siebenaler. She moved to Juneau in 1975, where she was employed by the State of Alaska, and worked for the departments of Labor, Education, and Transportation.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her husband and friends.
She is survived by her husband Kelly Peres of Juneau; parents Warren and Florence Siebenaler of Montana; brother Mike Siebenaler of Montana; sister Mary Forster of Canada.
She is preceded in death by her brother Bill Siebenaler.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her name to the Gastineau Humane Society, 7705 Glacier Hwy, Juneau 99801.
Arthur James "Jim" McHardy
Former Juneau resident Arthur James ``Jim'' McHardy recently died in Phoenix, Ariz. His family believes he died between July 3 and 6, 1998, but the exact date is not known. Private services were held in San Diego, Calif., on July 10, 1998.
McHardy was born April 12 or 14, 1959, to Earl and Muriel McHardy. He was an eight-year resident of Juneau, graduating from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1977. He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and went on to become an aircraft mechanic.
He is survived by his parents, Earl and Muriel McHardy of Utah; and his brothers Bruce McHardy of Juneau, Robert McHardy of Florida, and Richard McHardy of Arizona.
Contributions may be made in his name to any alcohol and drug abuse program.
Marie Peters
Juneau resident Marie Peters, 65, died July 26, 1998, at Bartlett Regional Hospital. A special service will be held for the family on Thursday at the Russian Orthodox Church. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall.
Peters was born Sept. 6, 1932, to Gertrude (Young) Peters and Willie Peters. She was Eagle of the Wolf clan, Yanyeidi, and was the great-great granddaughter of Chief Anatlahash of the Taku Tribe and Chief Kowee of the Auk Tribe.
Peters enjoyed making flowers for Memorial Day and loved to embroider and crotchet gifts. She was a very generous person who took great pleasure in family gatherings, her family said.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Gertrude Peters; brothers James, Roy, Robert and Frank Peters; and sisters Lena Lillian Laiti and Alice Nelson.
She is survived by her son Allan Larry Peters of Juneau; sister Dorothy Coronell of Juneau; nephews Frank Coronell, Ray Coronell, Joseph Coronell, Ben (Penny) Coronell, Ronald Laiti, Clarence ``Butch'' (Andrea) Laiti, Carl (Gala) Nelson, all of Juneau; Christopher (Vivian) Coronell of Anchorage; Ed Hotch, Roy Peters, William Peters, and Daniel Peters, all of Klukwan; nieces Nita Coronell, Lillian (Steve) Petershoare, Evelyn (Larry) Myers, Dionne Laiti, Judy (George) Franklet, all of Juneau; Dyann Myers of Anchorage; Angie Howard of Haines; cousins Irene Roberts and family of Sitka and Juneau; Francis (Florence) Eddy, and Karen Ray, both of Sitka; Francine Jones, Nancy Douglas, Gary Eddy, Kitty Eddy, Rocky Eddy, all from Juneau; and the children of the late Andrew and Lloyd Sutton, of Anchorage and Hawaii; grandchildren D.J. and Kayla Peters, and their mother Cecelia Knutson of Juneau; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Peters' nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Petershoare, Larry Myers, Gilbert James, George Franklet, Carl Nelson, and Andres Cadiente Sr.
Frederick William Harris Jr.
Longtime Juneau resident Frederick William Harris Jr. died June 30, 1998, after a brief illness. Services were held 1 p.m. today at the ANB Hall.
Harris was born March 18, 1948, in Kake, to Fred and Ellen Harris. His Tlingit name was Kahna-tsoo-eesh, after his uncle. Harris was Wooshketaan from the Shark House.
Harris attended school in Juneau and graduated in 1968. He then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and received an honorable discharge.
Harris was employed as a commercial fisherman and most recently worked as a custodian at the ANB Hall. He was a Sealaska and Goldbelt shareholder and was registered with the Juneau Tlingit-Haida Community Council.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and spending time with friends and family.
Harris was preceded in death by his father Frederick Harris Sr.; sisters Annie Friberg and Cecelia Charles; brothers Johnny Kitka, Marley Harris and Marvel Harris; paternal grandmother Annie Eldemar; aunts Bessie Visaya, Katherine Mills, and Helen Salpid; his uncles Gilbert Mills Sr., Edward Sarabia Sr., John Eldemar, and David Eldemar; cousins Lucy Hanson and Albert Sakamoto; and nephew Willie Watson.
Survivors include his mother Ellen Harris of Juneau; brothers James Kitka, Stanley Harris Jr., and Casey Lanz, all of Juneau; sisters Katherine White, Angie Porter and Marlene Harris, all of Juneau, Mynita Gonzales of Seattle, and Helen James of Nevada; uncle Daniel Eldemar; aunts Janie Eldemar, Irene Lampe, Helen Sarabia, Helen Peters, and Elaine Etukeok; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Tony Barril, David Garcia, Eric Olsen, Gilbert Dick, Charlie John and Norman Sarabia. Honorary pallbearers were Daniel and Jannie Eldemar, Don Bellinger, the Mills family, Doug Imboden, Helen Sarabia, Fred Houston, Rudy Istiris, Frank Miller, Irene Lampe and Elaine Etukeok.

Beatrice Martha Coyner
Juneau resident Beatrice Martha Coyner died July 3, 1998, in Juneau. Services will be held Wednesday in Tulare, Calif. Friends may call the Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary for further details.
Coyner was born July 7, 1906, in St. Louis, Mo., to William Bade and Louise Stuernman Bade. She attended school in St. Louis, and married Wes Coyner Sr., on Nov. 25, 1926.
She was active in Pinehust and the Miramonte Chamber of Commerce. She worked as a bookkeeper and also as a housewife.
Coyner enjoyed cooking, baking pies and playing cards.
She is survived by her son Wes Coyner Jr. and daughter-in-law Dolores Coyner of Juneau; granddaughter Claudia Metcalfe of California; grandson Keven Coyner of Connecticut; sister Doris Martell of California; and four great grandchildren.
