Died, on the 5th instant, in the fifty-fourth year of her age, Mrs. R.A.
PARHAM. She was born in Sussex County, Virginia, moved to this country early in
life, and on the 5th day of November 1832, became the wife of Nicholas
PARHAM, now deceased. During that year she also made a profession of religion at
Old Cambridge Camp Grounds and ever afterwards lived an exemplary, consistent
member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. She was confined to her bed for
four years with rheumatism…
June 24, 1870:
In Memoriam- James Edgar RUSSELL was born in Athens, Alabama, January 17,
1843, and died in Helena, Arkansas, June 12, 1870, and was consequently aged 27
years, 4 months and 26 days. He joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church
in this place September 16, 1858. A very dear friend has departed, who less
than one year ago, left us in buoyant health, and with high hopes… We knew him
well; possessed of the wealth of an intellectual character of great promise,
a quick, and keen perception of all that was grand and beautiful in nature,
and his face when beaming with a smile, shone with the nobility of a pure,
generous heart…
