Vivian Reed Cobb

Services for Vivian Reed Cobb, 87, were at 2 p.m. Monday at K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Rev. David Daniels Jr., officiating. Burial was in Green lawn Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Cobb died Friday at her home.
Survivors include a brother, Leon Reed of McCalla; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Cobb was retired from Johnson and Johnson.
Dr. Euri Belle Bolton

Dr. Euri Belle Bolton, 107, of Dawson, Ga., formerly of Jacksonville, died Thursday at the Lillian Carter Nursing Center in Plains, Ga. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Foreman Cemetery in Webster County.
Dr. Bolton was born in Terrell County, Ga., on Feb. 22, 1895, the daughter of Robert Lee Bolton and Mary Lee Culpepper Bolton. She received her childhood education at Mt. Olive School near Parrott, Ga., and completed the ninth grade requirements at Poplar Springs in Laurens County. She received her Normal degree from G.N.&I.C., later known as Georgia State College for Women and Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. Her first teaching experience was as principal of two rural schools in Terrell County. She then accepted a position as Extension worker for G.S.C.W., in which capacity she helped to pioneer the use of standard educational and intelligence tests.
In 1922, she was granted a fellowship to Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn., and earned her bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. degrees in psychology. She returned to her alma mater and was a member of the faculty there from 1925-58, most of this time as head of the psychology department.
From 1961-66, she served as director of testing and guidance for the N. E. Independent School District of Harris County, Texas.
She made her home in Jacksonville from 1966-94, at which time she went to live at the Lillian Carter Nursing Center.
Dr. Bolton was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, the Georgia Retired Educators Association, American and Georgia Psychological associations, American Association for the Advancement of Science and had been listed in several issues of Personalities of the South.
Survivors include three nephews, John L. Bolton of Sanford, N. C., Robert Bolton of Waynesboro, Ga., and Dr. William S. Bolton of Atlanta; two nieces, Nelle F. Hudson and Olive F. Powell, both of Parrott, and a number of great-nephews and great-nieces.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Olive Methodist Church, in care of Mrs. Carolyn Kenneth, Rt. 1 Parrott, Ga., 31777 or to a favorite charity.
Anthony George Areno

Services for Anthony George Areno, 42, were at 2 p.m. Thursday at K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory with Revs. David Daniels and Fred Taylor officiating. Burial was in White’s Gap Cemetery.
Mr. Areno died May 20 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Survivors include his parents, Barbara P. Areno and George L. Areno of Jacksonville, and a brother, Michael Houston Areno of Ohatchee.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Tamara K. Areno, and a brother, John L. Areno.
Pallbearers were Ray Weldon, Gary Prince, John VanCleave, Jeff Johnson, Tim Shadrick, Steve Slay and Clint Player.
Mr. Areno was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Fraternal Order of Eagles and ROTC. He was the founder and president of the Calhoun County Head Injury Association Practical Side.

Tammy L. Bragg

Services for Tammy L. Bragg, 43, were at 2 p.m. Monday at K. L. Brown Funeral Home with Revs. David Vinson and Norman Smith officiating. Burial was in Jacksonville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bragg died Friday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her mother, Olivia Gail Bragg of Jacksonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brigett (Coggins) and Chris Vernon of Piedmont and Kelly (Gaddy) and Chad Vinson of Oxford; a sister, Marsha Bragg; four brothers, Randy Bragg of Jacksonville, Tony Bragg of Lake Charles, La., Cully Bragg of Jacksonville and Dustin Bragg of Jacksonville; grandparents, Myrtle Bragg of Jacksonville and James and Rosenell Gilcrest of Mobile; and seven grandchildren, Dexter Vernon, Tucker Vernon, Riley Vernon, Lily Grace Vernon, Dylan Vinson, Hunter Vinson and Chase Vinson.
Ms. Bragg was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was formerly employed at Kerr Cabinet Company. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Max Bragg.
Pallbearers were Larry Bragg, Jerry Bragg, Wendell Bragg, Donnie Bragg, Dean Key and Darren Patterson.
Shirley Jean McCraw

Services for Shirley Jean McGraw, 57, were at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith Chapel AOH Church of God with Jewell Thomas officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge.
Mrs. McCraw died May 31 at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonya Glass of Anniston and Cara Barrett of Shreveport, La.; a son, Charles W. McCraw Jr., of Jacksonville; her mother, Mae Brew Black of Anniston; seven sisters, Charliene Slaughter and Judy Glenn, both of Detroit, Sarah Nell Carter of Anniston, Barbara Milner of Toledo, Ohio, Bernice Thomas of San Angelo, Texas, Veronica Rime of Germany and Beverly Wright of Prince George, Va.; two brothers, Bobby David of Dadeville and Willie James Milner of Detroit; and three grandchildren, Tameka Bojang, Rafeal McCraw and Chiquetta McCraw.
Pallbearers were family, deacons and friends.
Mrs. McGraw was a member of Smith Chapel AOH Church of God and a 1962 graduate of Anniston High School.
Mrs. McGraw was preceded in death by a grandchild, Nakia McCraw.
