Blackmon
Services for Calvin C. Blackmon Sr., 73, of 4410 Asbury Ave., will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Teresa Forshee and Dr. Charles Owens officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Blackmon died Tuesday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Counts Blackmon of Anniston; a son, Calvin C. Blackmon Jr. of Centre; two sisters, Ruth Carter of Anniston and Sue Coston of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Joe Blackmon of Anniston; and two grandchildren, Wesley Blackmon and Shelley Elkins.
Pallbearers will be Ed "Hoot" Gibson, Paul Kadle, Joe Hayes, Bill Snider, Johnny Yother and Melvin Womack.
Mr. Blackmon, a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, was retired from Monsanto after 37 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving on the USS Randolph in the South Pacific. He received three Battle Stars. He was a Shriner and member of Masonic Lodge 443 and First Baptist Church of Saks. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Blackmon.
B. Chambers
CENTRE
Services for Bonnie Mae Chambers, 86, of Centre, will be today at 11 a.m. at Noah Baptist Church with Revs. Clinton Green and Herbert Reid officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The body will be at Perry Funeral Home until one hour before services.
Mrs. Chambers died Monday at Cherokee County Nursing Home.
Survivors include two sons, Dallas Ray Chambers and Travis Jay Chambers, both of Centre; three half brothers, Jack Mallett of Rome, Ga., Robert Mallett of Montgomery and James Mallett of Pensacola, Fla.; two half sisters, Annie Pearl Hopwood and Tennie Lambert, both of Centre; five grandchildren, David Chambers, Jeff Chambers, Sherry Rayborn, Leigh Ann Shannon and Lowell Johnson; and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Chambers, a native of Cherokee County, was a homemaker and a member of Noah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Chambers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Noah Cemetery Fund.

Services for Gertrude Graham Chambers, 86, of Enterprise, formerly of Cherokee County, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Chambers died Tuesday.
Survivors include a son, Truett Chambers of Enterprise; two sisters, Ruth Igou and Tevis Grant, both of Gadsden; a brother, Oris Graham of Gadsden; and two grandchildren, Lee Chambers and Marilee Chambers.
Mrs. Chambers was a member of Centre First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parker Sunday School Class of Centre Baptist Church.

Services for Johnathan Ray Lang, 17, of Piedmont will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home.
Mr. Lang died Tuesday at his home.

Services for Rev. Duffie Morgan, 74, of 240 Cedar Springs Drive, Jacksonville, will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home with Bishop James Martin and Rev. David Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery, Gadsden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 tonight.
Rev. Morgan died Tuesday at Wessex House in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Morgan of Jacksonville; two daughters, Dr. Cathy Morgan of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jan Morgan Ricks of Tuscaloosa; a son, Michael Morgan of Centre; two sisters, Margaret Garrett of Gadsden and Dot Beauford of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, Rev. Bobby Morgan of Decatur; and two grandsons, Michael Morgan II and Matthew Morgan of Centre.
Pallbearers will be Rev. James Rainey, Rev. Dr. Mark Green, Rev. Charles Graham, Rev. Mark Willingham, Hoyt Turner and James Batey.
Rev. Morgan was a World War II Navy veteran and was employed by Anniston Army Depot. He was a well-known pastor in the Congregational Holiness Church, serving at Limbaugh Chapel C.H. Church in Talladega, Pine Grove C.H. Church in Websters Chapel, the Centre C.H. Church an the Tredegar Chapel C.H. Church in Jacksonville. He served on the North Alabama District Presbytery of the Congregational Holiness Church for 34 years, as secretary from 1962-82, and as District Superintendent from 1983-96. He served on the general executive board of the Congregational Holiness Church in Griffin, Ga., from 1993-95. He was a member of the Tredegar Chapel Church.
Rev. Morgan was preceded in death by a brother, W.L. Morgan.

NEWELL
Services for Daphie Mae Shiflett Morrison, 78, of Newell will be today at 4 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with Revs. Ray Runyan and Roy Wysner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Morrison died Monday at Randolph County Hospital in Roanoke.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Heard of Newell; a son, Rodney Morrison of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Eris Cook of LaGrange, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jana Heard, Johnathan Heard and Judd Heard; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnathan Heard, Judd Heard, Phillip Heard, Michael Cook, Vernon Lipham and Jerry Williamson.
Mrs. Morrison, a lifelong resident of Randolph County, had been employed with Sewell Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.
