Martin
BLUE MOUNTAIN
Services for James Burton Martin, 73, of 8 Net St., will be today at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Chapel.
Mr. Martin died Friday at Carraway Hospital.
Survivors also include three brothers, Fred L. Martin and William Jackson Martin, both of Jacksonville and John M. Martin of Lincoln.
Mathis
HEFLIN
Services for Paul "Pete" Mathis, 73, of Heflin will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Crumley's Chapel Church of God. Burial will be in Crumley's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 and Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m.
Mr. Mathis died Sunday at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley H. Mathis of Heflin; two daughters, Lisa Harmon of Ranburne, Rhonda Ivey of Heflin; four sisters, Jenny Daniel of Heflin, Vera Lott of Oxford, Lillie Lesueur of Munford and Bernice Young of Anniston; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Mathis was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County.
Murphy
Services for Harvey DeWayne Murphy, 49, of 912 Coleman Drive, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Whites Gap. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 at Gray Brown Service Mortuary and Crematory.
Mr. Murphy died Saturday in Anniston.
Survivors include one daughter, Audrey Elizabeth Murphy of Anniston; one son, John Edward Murphy of Anniston; one sister, JoAnn Turgeon of Anniston; three brothers, Harold Murphy of Tucson, Ariz., Jerrie Murphy of Oxford and Kenneth R. Murphy of Anniston; and one grandchild, Markyn Bradberry.
Pallbearers will be Steve Strange, Kenneth Medders, Mike Lipscomb, Kenneth Rurnham and Dennis Jones.
Mr. Murphy was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He owned and operated DeWaynes Dry Cleaning and Delivery Service. He was a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Patterson
TALLADEGA
Services for Ruby Hughes Johnson Patterson, 76, of Gorgan Drive, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Moore officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Oxford. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 8 at Miller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Patterson died Saturday at Gunter Circle Nursing Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Johnson of Alexandria and Mary Rooks of Munford; one son, Morris Johnson of Munford; one sister, Doris Wallace of Alexander City; two brothers, Larry Hughes of Oxford and Gerald Hughes of Munford; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Heaney, Lamar Johnson, Danny Rooks, Kyle Rooks, Keith Rooks and Hubert Johnson Jr.
Mrs. Patterson was a lifelong resident of Talladega County and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Scott
WOODLAND
Services for Jim W. Scott, 91, of Woodland will be today at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kerry Harris and Brother Junior Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Napoleon East Church of Christ Cemetery. Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scott died Saturday at Randolph County Hospital.
Survivors include one sister, Betty Lou Bowen of Woodland; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tim Moore, Bobby Perry, Denny Ivey, Viron Cantrell, Rodney Richardson and C.L. Scott.
Mr. Scott was a native of Randolph County. He was a self-employed trader of various merchandise. He was a Protestant by faith. Mr. Scott was a WW II Army veteran where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
Stewart
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas
Services for Dr. A.D. Stewart, 81, of Prairie View, Texas, were Sunday at the Anniston Funeral Services. Private services will be today, with burial in Edgemont Cemetery.
Dr. Stewart died Sunday in Prairie View.
Survivors include his wife, Nina P. Stewart of Anniston; one daughter, Jacqueline Stewart Campbell of Baton Rouge, La.
Dr. Stewart was retired as head professor of the math department at Prairie View A&M University.
Thomas
Services for Terry Wayne Thomas, 46, of 2131 U.S. 78 East, Anniston, will announced by Anniston Funeral Service.
Mr. Thomas died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.
Williams
ALEXANDRIA
Services for Theo Dunn Williams, 75, of 924 Post Oak Rd. will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Eulaton United Methodist Church with Revs. John Cosby, Danny Danders and Sam Graham officiating. Burial will be in Eulaton United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8:30 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams died Sunday at her residence.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Gardner of Alexandria and Carol Moore of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Williams, Bob Williams, Alan Williams, Jeff Gardner, Shane Jones, Bobby Russell, Micheal Smith and Frank Hadder.
Mrs. Williams was a native of Arley and a resident of Alexandria. She retired from South Central Bell and was a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Williams and a son, Buddy Williams.
