ROHR

Services for George E. Rohr, 77, were at 11 a.m. March 28 in the chapel of K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. Truman Norred officiated.
Mr. Rohr died March 25 at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Rohr of Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Larry Helsel of Charleston, Ill., a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kim Rohr of Portage, Pa.; a brother, Hascal Rohr of Summerville, S.C.; a step-son and his wife, David and Sue Morris of Jacksonville; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Mr. Rohr was born on May 21, 1927 in Baltimore Md. He had been a resident of Calhoun County since 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and, after the war, re-enlisted in the U.S. Army.
He served in Korea and Vietnam and received two Purple Hearts. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies.

SKINNER

Services for Grover Thomas Skinner, 84, were at 10 a.m. March 28 at Hatcher Avenue Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Gardner officiated. Burial was in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Smyrna.
Mr. Skinner died Saturday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Lee Skinner of Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bobby Pannell of Fayetteville, Ga.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Patsy Skinner of Mableton, Ga., Jerry and Debbie Allen of Jacksonville; and Terry and Vicky Allen of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren, Eric Allen, Brandy Johnson, Shane Allen, Brett Allen, Vivian Brown, Eddie Skinner, Stephen Skinner, Lisa Thrash and Robin Pannell and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Dickeson, Jesse Barksdale, Frank Stevenson, Wendell Ray, Mike Easterwood and Joey Croft.
Mr. Skinner was a World War II veteran and retired civil service employee. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Skinner, and his first wife, Emily.

WHALEY

Services for Glover Whaley, 70, of Lineville were at 2 p.m. March 24 at Lineville Church of Christ with Scott Latham, Michael Horn and Paul Cockrell officiating. Burial was in Lineville City Cemetery with Clay County Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Whaley died March 22 at University Hospital in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Shirley Whaley; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Roy Adamson of Lineville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Missia Whaley of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Dana Adamson, Jack Whaley and Nathan Whaley; a great-grandson, Tanner Adamson; a sister, Maggie Dollar of Warner Robbins, Ga.; and a brother, Grover Whaley of Anniston.
Pallbearers were Nathan Whaley, Jack Whaley, Jody Whaley, Harold Dollar, Vernon Chapman, Rayford Johnson, Albert Gregg, James Horn, Duward Rice and Jerry Rice. Honorary pallbearers were Cavin Hill, Fred Knight, Ed Latham, Bill East, Jeral Clark, Dr. Dwain Rush, Larry Buchanan, Anthony Mathews, Ben Johnson, Seth Johnson, Bill Johnson, Jeff Kinder, Jack Macoy, Sonny Hill, Flem Walker, Doc Walker, Gerald Short, Doyle Sprayberry, Roy Hudson, Bobby Pettus, Blake Harmon, and members of East Alabama Antique Farm Equipment Club and members of Clay County Exchange Co-op Coffee Club.
Mr. Whaley was a native of Randolph County, but had lived in Lineville most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Anniston Army Depot as a mechanic.
He was a member of East Alabama Antique Farm Equipment Club and Lineville Church of Christ, where he was the song director and had previously served as a deacon.
ARIAIL

Services for John Ariail, 71, of Mobile, formerly of Wellington, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Union Methodist Church in Wellington with Rev. Art Burroughs officiating. Burial was in Forrest Cemetery with Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Ariail died Feb. 5 in Mobile.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Snider Ariail; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Alvin McCord of Mobile; a son, Mike Ariail of Mobile; his mother, Gladys P. Smith of Wellington; two grandsons, Aaron Ariail and Zachary Ariail,; two brothers, Don Ariail of Waco, Texas, and Jim Ariail of Wellington; an uncle, Will Smith Prickett of Prickettville; an aunt, Joan Bryant of Prickettville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sam Vaughn Sunday School Class.
Mr. Ariail, a native of Wellington and longtime resident of Mobile, graduated from Alexandria High School and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Union Methodist Church in Wellington and attended Auburn University.
CANTY

Services for Emel Canty, 85, were at 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Roosevelt Parker officiating. Burial was in Jacksonville City Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Services in charge.
Mrs. Canty died Feb. 3 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation.
Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doris and Ulysses Jenkins of Cleveland, Seclonia and Earl Morris of Jacksonville and Opal L. Harris of Birmingham; and five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Walter Levell, Emanuel and Evelyn Levell, and James Levell, all of Cleveland, David Levell of Jacksonville and Elijah and Orean Levell of Gadsden.
Pallbearers were nephews. Honorary pallbearers were deacons and stewards.
Mrs. Canty was a member of new Hope BaptistChurch and was retired from the Washington D. C., School District. She was preceded in death by her husband, Landers Canty, her parents, and two brothers.
LYNN

Services for Margaret Lynn, 71, were at 3 p.m. Feb. 5 at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. T. R. Harper, Rev. Edward Smith and Clarence Angelette officiating. Burial was in Piedmont Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Lynn died Feb. 3 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Edward Lynn; a daugher and son-in-law, Priscilla and John Regan of Woodstock, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Debbie Lynn of Piedmont; two sisters, Callie Gaines of Maysville, Ga., and Mae Seaboat of Jefferson, Ga.; two brothers, B. L. Wright of Jerfferson, Ga., and Jo Wright of Buford, Ga.; four grandchildren, Stacey Stephens, Misty Brown, April Lynn and T. J. Lynn, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were T. J. Lynn. Mark Howell, Frank Reid, Sonny Reid, Bill Mills and Stan Pritchett.
Mrs. Lynn was a Georgia native, a former Piedmont resident and had lived in Jacksonville for the past four years She was a member of Faith Temple Christian Center and had worked in home healthcare for many years. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Lynn.
