Services for Ruby Priest Harris, 87, were at 11 a.m. Feb. 7 at First Baptist Church of Williams with Rev. Mike Oliver and Dr. Barry Howard officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Harris died Feb. 4 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include two sons, James H. Priest of Minneapolis and Miles A. Priest of Jacksonville; a stepdaughter, Barbara Plante of Rochester Hills, Mich.; a stepson, Roy Harris of Mason, Mich.; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Harris was a member of First Baptist Church of Williams. She was a riveter during World War II, working on the bomb bay of a B-29 Bomber.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by four sisters, Enzia Johnson, Minnie Green, Lillie Mae Welch and Ida Belle Ponder, and five brothers, Arthur Green, Roy Green, Hubert Green, Walker Green and Duard Green .
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Williams building fund.
ROSE

Graveside services for Ted Lee Rose, 71, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 5 at Piedmont Memory Gardens with Bill Roberts officiating. K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rose died Feb. 2 at his home.
Survivors include four nephews, Cecil Rose of Avon Park, Fla., Randy Rose and Roger Rose of Michigan, and Barry Rose of Mississippi.
Pallbearers were friends.
Mr. Rose, a lifelong Jacksonville resident, was the foster son of Jeff and Elsie McFall.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Rose and Harold Gene Rose.
PAYNE

Services for Helen Taylor Payne, 77, were at 11 a.m. Feb. 4 at Mamre Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Murphy officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery. Anniston Memorial Funeral Home was in charge.
Mrs. Payne died Feb. 1 at her home.
Survivors include her husband, John V. Payne; four sons and daughters-in-law, Coley and Sharon Payne of Anniston, Carlos and Debra Payne of Wellington, Dennis and Sharon Payne of Alexandria, and Toney and Sheryl Payne of Jacksonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Clanda and Greg Page of Alexandria and Connie and Gary Atchley of Jacksonville; a sister, Nell Swindall of Gadsden; a brother, Joe Taylor of Longview, Texas; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and her caregivers, Brenda Whittle and Jeannie Angle.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Shannon Page, Heath Payne, Josh Payne, Chad Payne, Gary Atchley and Timmy Atchley.
Mrs. Payne was a member of Mamre Baptist Church. She was a paper carrier for The Anniston Star for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Chester Taylor; three brothers, Jake Taylor, Mickey Taylor and Crystal Taylor; and a sister, Dorothy Dollar.

CHEATWOOD

Services for Kathleen Noah Cheatwood, 60, of Athens were at 11 a.m. Jan. 29 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens with Brother Danny McMullins officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Cheatwood died Jan. 27 at Huntsville Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Barney W. Cheatwood; two sons, Wade Brock Cheatwood of Pulaski, Tenn., and Wayne Allen Cheatwood of Athens; a daughter, Susan Ann McLemore of Athens; two sisters, Dorothy Ford of Jacksonville and Sylvia Saterfield of Wellington; and a brother, Lamar F. Noah of Jacksonville.
Mrs. Cheatwood was a member of Oneal Church of Christ. She sang with Athens State University Chorus and the community chorus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Omadell Trantham Noah; a brother, Hilton P. Noah; and a twin sister.
DOSS

Services for William Carter Doss, 75, were at 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center chapel with Revs. Ricky Doyal, Bryan Watts and Steve Williams officiating. Burial was in Rabbittown Cemetery.
Mr. Doss died Jan. 28 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Myra and Steve Williams and Hilda Parris, all of Jacksonville, and April and Jeff Jones of Piedmont; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John David and Denise Doss and Kenneth Doss, all of Piedmont; a brother, DeWitt Doss of Jacksonville; two sisters, Fannie Crook and Lola Faye Glenn, both of Jacksonville; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were David Doss, Dustin Doss, Derek Doss, Sloan Garner, Chuck Parris, Aaron Parris and Jeff Jones.
Mr. Doss, a Calhoun County native and lifelong resident, was a member of Grace Tabernacle Ministries. He had been employed by the City of Jacksonville. He enjoyed the Atlanta Braves and Alabama Crimson Tide. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Doss, seven brothers, and six sisters.
HUDSON

Services for Martha Kate Hudson, 70, were at 11 a.m. Feb. 1 at Collier-Butler Chapel with Rev. Neva Hudson officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery with Collier Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Hudson died Jan. 29.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Hudson, Rickey and Neva Hudson, Loyal Jr. and Annette Hudson, Marcus Hudson and Tony and Valerie Hudson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and Larry Smith and Margaret Wright; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Katherine Fite.
Pallbearers were Devon Bell, Kenny Hudson, Norman Waters, Chris Gaddy, Jason Parris and Larry Smith. Honorary pallbearers were associates of Southern Care Hospice and Barbara Townsell.
Mrs. Hudson was a member of Church of the Nine Gifts, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was dedicated to her family, teaching and her friends.
Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal F. Hudson; a granddaughter, Erin Hudson; and a great-grandson, John Brody Bell.
