Services with full military honors for Cletus O. Behel, 76, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. today at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Behel died Monday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Record Behel; two daughters, Anne Behel Collins and her husband, Lynn, of Southside and Kaye Behel Helm of Anniston; a son and his wife, Ronnie and Redith Stallings of Cullman; four grandchildren, Jesse Johnson and his wife, Charity, Kevin Johnson, Tisha Stallings Ray and her husband, Richard, and Tiffany Stallings Sessoms and her husband, Larry; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Wallace, Brian Forbus, Jeff Tims, Kenny Stratton, Larry Watts, J.C. Smith, James Farmer and Forrester Tillson.
Mr. Behel was an elder at Betta View Hills Church of Christ. He retired from the Army with 23 years having served in Korea and Vietnam. He retired from Federal Civil Service as an investigator for the District Attorney’s Office in Anniston and the Department of Defense in Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Betta View Hills Church of Christ Building Fund.

Mrs. Mathis died Monday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham.
Newton

Services for Arlys L. Newton, 92, of Anniston will be 10 a.m. today at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford with Richard O’Connor officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens.
Mrs. Newton died Monday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and her caregivers, Gerald Carter, Sherry and Willie Carter, and Betty Reid.
Pallbearers will be Walter Reid, Ronald Reid, Ralph Carter, Lamar Carter, Scott Poore and Harry Reid.
Mrs. Newton, a former Orlando, Fla. resident, and her husband helped start the Victory Baptist Church in Orlando, where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terrance Newton; her parents, Cleve and Leora Carter; and five brothers, Harl Carter, Claxton Carter, Paul Carter, Vernon Carter and Ralph Carter.
Nichols

PIEDMONT – Services for Jerry Lamar Nichols, 51, of Piedmont (Gnatville Community) will be 11 a.m. today at Jordan Funeral Home in Centre with Revs. Harry Carter and Billy Murdock officiating. Burial will be in Gnatville Cemetery.
Mr. Nichols died Monday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hunt Nichols; three sons, Ralph Carter of Rome, Ga., Christopher Carter and Tim Clark, both of Piedmont; three daughters, April Mullinax and Allison Hatch, both of Rockmart, Ga., and Vallerie Nichols of Silver Creek, Ga.; a sister, Linda Faye Lanham of Rome, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren, Hunter Trace Mullinax, Boston Marie Chereyll, Abigal Marie Clark, Haley Marie Clark, Curtis John Locklear, Angel Clark, Allan Scott Clark, Macalla Davis, Joshua Craig Hatch and Chareyll Linda Clark.
Pallbearers will be Tim Clark, Kyle Nichols, Hal Blair, Johnny Nesbit, Kevin Nesbit, Josh Nichols, Dean Hatch and Lynn Mullinax.
Mr. Nichols, a Floyd County, Ga. native, was Baptist. He retired from Bekeart Steel. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Nichols; and a sister, Margarett Louise Nichols.

RANBURNE – Services for James Merlin Noles, 65, of Ranburne will be announced by Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin.
Mr. Noles died Tuesday at Wedowee Hospital.
Patterson

CHICAGO – Services for Mitchell Patterson, 59, of Chicago, formerly of Anniston, will be noon Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. J.E. Merriweather officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.
Mr. Patterson died Wednesday in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Patterson; a son, Paul Harris of Chicago; a daughter, Tijuana Naylor of Lithonia, Ga.; four sisters, Myrtle Patterson of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Gwendolyn Patterson, Catherine Patterson and Mary Mustafa and her husband, Carl, all of Anniston; five brothers, Coston Clifton and his wife, Carrie, of San Antonio, Claude Clifton and his wife, Dorothy, of Cleveland, Ohio, Charles Lewis Patterson and his wife, Mary, of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Bobby Patterson and Ralph Patterson, both of Anniston; his mother-in-law, Lillian Freeman of Chicago; two stepchildren, Jo Monique Whiteside and Frederick Whiteside, both of Chicago, and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Claude Clifton, Coston Clifton, Bobby Patterson, Jimmy Patterson, Charles Patterson and Ralph Patterson.
Mr. Patterson, an Anniston native, had lived in Chicago since 1960. He retired from Reliable Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Nettie Patterson.
