LINCOLN - Graveside services for David "Toby" Freeman, 46, of Lincoln will be 2 p.m. Friday at Coldwater Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Sonny Champion officiating and Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega in charge.
Mr. Freeman died Wednesday at Beckwood Manor Health Care.
Survivors include his mother, Sarah C. Freeman; two sisters, Virginia Freeman and Patricia Talley; and five brothers, Joe Freeman, Billy Freeman, Shorty Freeman, Curtis Freeman and Andy Freeman.
Mr. Freeman, a Coldwater native, lived in Calhoun and Talladega counties most of his life.
Garrett

ALPINE – Services for James Eddie Garrett V, 91, of Alpine will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Maryland Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Threatt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary of Talladega in charge.
Mr. Garrett died Tuesday at Talladega Healthcare Center.
Survivors include six daughters, Mary C. Mallory of Alpine, Bobbie Groce and Eula Struggs, both of Birmingham, Catherine Harris of Waldorf, Md., Betty Sellers of Snellville, Ga., and Odessa Davis of Detroit; a stepdaughter, Ruby Calhoun of Talladega; a son, Larry D. Garrett of Alpine; 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mr. Garrett was a member and deacon of New Maryland Baptist Church and served as superintendent of Sunday School and as custodian. He retired from the Talladega County Board of Education, and was a farmer. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, the Cheerful Givers Society and the American Union Relief. He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Rachel Swain Garrett; his first wife, Pearline Gray Garrett; his second wife, Artie Richardson Garrett; a sister, Rachel Long; and five brothers, Isiaah Garrett, Johnny Garrett, Governor Garrett, Dyke Garrett and Taylor Garrett Jr.
Gentry

Services for Steve Gentry, 49, of Anniston will be announced by Miller Funeral Home of Oxford.
Mr. Gentry died Tuesday at his home.
Haggerty

JACKSONVILLE – Services for June Smith Haggerty, 72, of Jacksonville will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville with Rev. Bert Breland officiating. Burial will be in Green lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 tonight at K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center and an hour prior to services at the church.
Mrs. Haggerty died Tuesday at Riverview Medical Center in Gadsden.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph O. Haggerty; a daughter and her husband, Sherrie H. and Randy Wiggins of Jacksonville; a son and his wife, Barry R. and Denise Haggerty of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Mary Ellen Tucker of Fayette; a brother and his wife, Ralph T. and Denise F. Smith of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Janet Smith of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren, Lindsay S. Haggerty, Ashley D. Wiggins, Jordan M. Haggerty, Brett R. Wiggins, Kristen N. Scott and Kasey R. Scott.
Pallbearers will be Mike Stephens, Ray Stephens, Tommy Smith, Kevan Tucker, Brandon Smith and Rick Browning. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Haggerty was a member of Jacksonville First Baptist Church for 45 years and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and Keenagers. She taught at Jacksonville High School for 26 years and at Emma Samson High School for four years. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Van Smith; a brother-in-law, James P. Tucker; and her parents, Clarence and Jessie Smith.

Hamby

LINCOLN – Services for Paul Brian Hamby Sr., 42, of Lincoln will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Revs. Bill Goodwin and Finley Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamby died Tuesday in Oxford.
Survivors include two daughters, Brianna Hamby and Whitney Hamby, both of Ohatchee; a son, Paul Brian Hamby Jr. of Oxford; his mother, Betty Foster Hamby of Lincoln; and a brother, Milton R. "Rudy" Hamby Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Anniston.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Carlisle, Larry Phillips, Bobby Holloway, Johnny Bullock, Hobie Talley and James Blankenship.
Mr. Hamby was employed by the Anniston Army Depot. He recently returned from Kuwait in support of Iraqi Freedom. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton R. Hamby Sr.

Malatino

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – Services for Kathryn Ann Malatino, 87, of Saint Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Anniston, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Bob Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 5-6:30 tonight with a Rosary following at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary & Crematory.
Mrs. Malatino died Saturday in Saint Petersburg.
Survivors include five sons, Lonnie Malatino of Clearwater, Fla., Thomas O. Malatino of Tampa, Fla., Raymond Malatino of Orlando, Fla., Tony Malatino of Lakeland, Fla. and Richard Irwin of Hoover; two sisters, Dorothy Plunkett and Hazel Powell, both of Anniston; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Malatino, a Bessemer native, was a founding member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. She was an executive secretary for the city of Anniston Museum. She was past president of the 27th Division Association Women’s Auxiliary and a member for more than 60 years.
