OXFORD Services for James A. Williams, 66, of Oxford will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Holcombe officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams died Thursday at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Scarlett and Joe Rowe of Georgia; a son and his wife, Jay and Sheila Williams of Oxford; his mother, Pauline Williams of Anniston; six sisters, Gwen Bennett of Columbia, S.C., Peggy Ledbetter of Marietta, Ga., Sue Paris and Brenda Parris, both of Anniston, Sheila Orcutt of Dubuque, Iowa, and Debbie Williams of Cornelia, Ga.; two brothers, Hershell Williams of Alexandria and Donny Williams of Oxford; and three grandchildren, Joshua Heath Williams, Cheyenne Reese Williams and Dylan Sexton Williams.
Pallbearers will be Billy Williams, Thomas Jackson, Mike Davis and members of the Westwood Baptist Mens Bible Class.
Mr. Williams, a Munford native and longtime Oxford resident, was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sexton Williams; a son, Stacey Sexton Williams; and his father, Edward Judson Williams.
Elder

OXFORD Services for Herbert Elder, 86, of Oxford will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Elder died Wednesday at his home.
Survivors include three daughters, Billie Sue Christopher of Oxford, Evelyn Howle of Jacksonville and Ludie Aderholt of Saks; two sons, Gary Elder of Alexandria and Gene Elder of Oxford; a brother, Bill Elder of Anniston; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Shirley Turner.
Pallbearers will be David Elder, John Elder, Tony Elder, Chad Elder, Jay Bartell and Chris Langley.
Mr. Elder, a Georgia native and longtime Calhoun county resident, was Baptist. He worked for U.S. Pipe and Kilby Steel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tressie B. Elder; a son, Terry Elder; and a daughter, Janice Smith.
Flowers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Services for Ethel Flowers of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Anniston, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Anniston with Ollie English officiating. Burial will be in Union Spring Cemetery in Talladega with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.
Mrs. Flowers died Thursday in Kansas City.
Survivors include a son, Norris Flowers; a brother, John Henry Storey of Talladega; two grandchildren, Travis Huguley and his wife, Juanita, and LeShenna Flowers; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Heflin

Services for Almus "Shorty" Heflin, 75, of Anniston will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Murray Temple in Anniston with Minister Sudealia Douthard officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.
Mr. Heflin died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Mary G. Heflin; seven sons, Almus Gaston and his wife, Latangela, of Anniston, Jimmie Almond and his wife, Chyrl, of Dayton, Ohio, Randy Smith of Atlanta, Howard Godwin, Tyrone Godwin and Sidney Godwin, all of Detroit; six daughters, Ruby Byrdsong and Barbara White and her husband, Phillip, all of Anniston, Camelia Godwin, Catina Godwin and Teresa Godwin, all of Detroit, and Frances Wright and her husband, William, of Martinsville, Va.; 35 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the Air Force. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mr. Heflin retired from the Air Force.
Jackson

Services for Ruth Jackson, 68, of Anniston will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Jackson died Wednesday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.
Kohn

OXFORD Graveside services for Ernest Kohn, 80, of Oxford will be 11:30 a.m. today at The Temple Beth-El Cemetery with Rabbi Mark Peilen officiating and Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge.
Mr. Kohn died Wednesday in Anniston.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Kohn; a stepson, Chris White of Birmingham; two stepdaughters, Christy Jones of Pensacola, Fla. and Sherry Arnet and her husband, Jan, of Flagler Beach, Fla.; a brother and his wife, Herbert and Frances Kohn of Atlanta; a nephew, and a niece.
Mr. Kohn, a Frankfurt, Germany native and longtime Calhoun County resident, was a holocaust survivor. He was a dairy farmer and a member of the Elks Club, the Lions Club and the Alabama Dairy Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Irene Kohn.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Leukemia Foundation, or to Temple Beth-El.
Perry

HEFLIN Services for Truman Burch Perry, 22 months, of Heflin will be 9 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Perry Family Cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge.
The child died Tuesday in Heflin.
Survivors include his parents, Tracy Lance Perry and Robbi Burch Perry of Heflin; a brother, James Lamar Perry of Heflin; and his grandparents, Nancy Burch and Lamar and Theta Perry.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Perry, Brian Taylor, Patrick Taylor and Tom Doenitz.
