Services for Marie Regina Vernon, 93, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Haven United Methodist Church with Rev. Ollie English officiating. Burial will be in Edgemont Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Omega Omega Services will be 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Williams died Wednesday at her home.
Herring

JACKSONVILLE - Services for Walter Lee Herring, 84, of Jacksonville will be 2 p.m. Monday at K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center chapel with Rev. Joe Harris officiating. Burial will be in Green lawn Memorial Gardens with K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Jacksonville in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Herring died Friday at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include his wife, Nannie Ruth Hollingsworth Herring; a brother, Donald E. Herring of Oxford; five sisters, Lou E. Black, Francis Boyd, Ruth Burleigh, Beatrice O’Brien, all of Anniston, and Betty Smith of Oxford; 20 nieces, and 15 nephews.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Mr. Herring, an Anniston native and longtime Jacksonville resident, was an Army veteran. He was a member of Whites Gap Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janie Lee Herring; a brother, John L. Herring; and a sister, Sara Mae Phillips.
Johnson

Mr. Johnson died Friday at his residence.
Maples

GAYLESVILLE - Services for Roland David "R.D." Maples, 61, of Gaylesville will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Perry Funeral Home chapel in Centre with Revs. G.W. Reed, Freddie Waldrop and Jim VanPelt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Gaylesville with Perry Funeral Home of Centre in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Maples died Saturday at the University Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Robbie Burleson Maples; a son, Tracy Alan Maples and his wife, Kellie, of Lafayette, Ga.; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Duffell and her husband, James, of Gaylesville, and Michelle Renee Brewster and her husband, Alford, of Gaylesville; a sister, Nancy Rickett and her husband, David, of Cedar Bluff; three brothers, Larry Teague and his wife, Jo Ann, of Gaylesville, Dewayne Teague and his wife, Fredia, of Cloudland, Ga., and L.C. Teague and his wife, Eleanor, of Lindale, Ga.; a stepbrother, Billy Teague and his wife, Sue, of Gaylesville; four grandchildren, Sloane Brewster, Zac Mobbs, Tracy Maples Jr. and Shalee Duffell; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Maples, a Jefferson County native, was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary McGinnis Perry.
McCraven

BIRMINGHAM - Services for Matthew Jones McCraven, 79, of Birmingham, formerly of Anniston, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Gray Brown-Service Mortuary & Crematory chapel with Rev. Perry Wood officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens in Anniston with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary & Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 4-6 today at the funeral home.
Mr. McCraven died Friday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Lois McCraven; three sons, James McCraven and David McCraven, both of Birmingham, and Dennis McCraven of Brazelton, Ga.; five granddaughters, a grandson and a great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be family.
Mr. McCraven, an Anniston native, had lived in Birmingham since 1957. He was a member of East Lake United Methodist Church and was a Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Donald and Essie Lee McCraven, and a brother, Donald E. McCraven.
Sparks

ASHLAND - Memorial services for Larry Hoyt Sparks, 56, of Ashland will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Clay County Funeral Home chapel in Ashland with Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the service.
Mr. Sparks died Saturday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Debrah Sparks; a daughter, Donna S. Moore of Ashland; three sons, Jeffrey Neil Sparks and his wife, Christy, Timothy Larry Sparks and his wife, Erin, and Shane Bohannan and his wife, Kelly; a grandson, Trevor Moore, and a granddaughter, Ansley Sparks.

Mrs. Striplin died Saturday at Cleburne Nursing Home.

Mr. Hays died Saturday.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Kim Hawkins of Centre, and Eric Hays of Centre; a brother, William Cole Hawkins of Centre; a sister, Taylor Jo Hays of Hokes Bluff; his grandparents, Betty Poore, Victor and Peggy Poore, and Joe Hays; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Kelly, T.C. Roberts, Andrew Robinson, Chris Battles, Brandon Allsup and Chris Hill.
Mr. Hays graduated from Cherokee County High School in 2003. He was employed with Subway.
