ATKINS

Services for Daniel Atkins, 74, of 603 Thomas Ave. SE were Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Charles CME Church with the Rev. Charles Agee officiating. Burial was in Jacksonville City Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge.
Mr. Atkins died Nov. 18 at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Francis Mathis Atkins of Jacksonville; three daughters, Mary Louise Nixon, Carol Annette Harrell and Lynn Means, all of Jacksonville; three sons, Bobby Joe Atkins and Charles Atkins, both of Jacksonville, and Serbville Siders of Detroit; two brothers, Willie Storey of Detroit and Fesson Davis of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lula Mae Smith.Mr. Atkins was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired form the Union Yarn Mills. He was a member of St. Paul CME Church.
HARRELSON

Services for Lillian Juanita Harrelson, 55, were Sunday at 2 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Dickerson officiating. Burial was in New Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Harrelson died Thursday at Jacksonville Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, David Coggins and Denny Coggins, both of White Plains; a daughter, Donna Dunn of White Plains; two brothers, Hoyt Easterwood and Terry Easterwood, both of White Plains; a sister, Dorothy Heath of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Adam Easterwood, Jeff Dickeson, Jesse Barksdale, Kevin Turner, Ray Duncan, Steven Wells, Danny Easterwood and Horace Burns.
Mrs. Harrelson was a native of Calhoun County and a resident of Jacksonville. She was a Baptist.
JOHNSON

Services for Elizabeth “Betty” Anne Ferkler Johnson, 75, were Sunday at 1 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with Father Jim Alves officiating and K. L. Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in charge. Burial was in Cherokee Memory Gardens in Centre.
Mrs. Johnson died Friday at Wessex House after a long illness.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy L. Glass of Jacksonville; Joni L. Thomas of Pell City and Betsy L. Johnson of Lam Passas, Texas; a brother, Harry W. Ferkler of Laurel, Md.; eight grandchildren, Kelly Romines, Leigh Glass, Kerry Thomas, Korri Thomas, Ricky Caylor, Christine Caylor, Jimmy Caylor and Jennifer Frank; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lee Romines, David Romines, Jerry Harris, Jack McCoy, Ken McCoy and Curtis Roberts.Mrs. Johnson was a native of Baltimore and a resident of Calhoun County.
She was a member of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church of Baltimore. She was an Atlanta Braves fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James E. Johnson Jr. who died in 1990, and two sons, James E. Johnson III and John T. Johnson.

TROTTER

Services for Command Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Clyde H. Trotter, 81, of 132 Betta View St., were Sunday at 1 p.m. at K. L. Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Coffman officiating. Burial was in Green lawn Memorial Gardens.
Sgt. Maj. Trotter died Thursday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Corene Jay Trotter of Jacksonville; a sister, Juanita Hause of Indianapolis; three brothers, Wilburn Trotter of Indianapolis, Thomas Trotter and Jack Trotter, both of Rockford, Ill.; and a grandchild, Sarah Trotter of Jacksonville.
Sgt. Maj. Trotter, a native of Trafford, was a resident of Jacksonville for 21 years. He was retired from the U. S. Army after 27 years of service and was a veteran of World War II.
Sgt. Maj. Trotter enjoyed working with wood. He build three houses for members of his family, subcontracting out some of the work.
A Democrat, he worked with a local realtor putting up signs for her company.
BUNDRUM

Services for Ottie Lee Pittman Bundrum, 85, of 923 Mountain St. NW, were Saturday at 2 p.m. at K. L. Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Truman Norred, Phil Winningham and Walker Dean officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Bundrum died Nov. 25 at Jacksonville Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Hinds of Blue Mountain and Brenda Stern of Ohatchee; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Bundrum of Saks and Mary Bundrum of Jacksonville; two sons, Fred Bundrum of Jacksonville and Buck Bundrum of Saks; two sons-in-law, Bill Hinds of Blue Mountain and Lee Stern of Ohatchee; three sisters, Charlotte Ford of Huntsville, Katherine Brownstein of Douglasville, N.Y., and Helen Pittman of Piedmont; 12 grandchildren, Scott Bundrum, Craig Bundrum, Sabrina Usrey, Regina Bryant, Brandy Hendiel, Tony Bundrum, Jeff Bundrum, Brenda Clement, Kendall Newman, Dawn Genarri, Sheila Stewart and Arnold Stern Jr.; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Echols Bryant, Scott Bundrum, Tony Bundrum, Kendall Newman, Glen Usrey, Craig Bundrum, Jeff Bundrum, Ronnie Clement, Rodney Hendiel, Robert Genarri and Arnold Stern Jr.
Mrs. Bundrum, a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, was a member of West Side Baptist Church and the Myrtle Casey Sunday School class.
She enjoyed gardening. In the 1950s, she helped her husband of 67 years, the late Clifford Bundrum, run their grocery store on West Mountain Avenue and worked in a sewing factory for several years. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Pittman and a grandson, Mark Hinds.
Memorials can be made to the Cancer Society.
JOHNSTON

Services for Ada Taylor Johnston, 86, of 215 Harold Boozer Road, were Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Williams with the Revs. Michael Oliver and Lamar Denkins officiating. Burial was in Williams Cemetery with K. L. Brown Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Johnston died Nov. 25 at her home.
Survivors include three daughters, Doris J. Green, Marie Swenson and Sarah Ann McGinnis, all of Jacksonville; a son, Bobbie Lee Johnston of Jacksonville; a sister, Sarah Thomason of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren, Lane Green, Regina Fincher, Cheryl Haynes, Keith Johnston, Steven Johnston, Lee Swenson, Wendell McGinnis, Melissa Arndt and Suzanne Everhart; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wendell McGinnis, Keith Johnston, Steven Johnston, Lane Green, Lee Swenson, Wayne Everhart, Randy Haynes, Steve Arndt and Bill Fincher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Johnston. A Calhoun County native, Mrs. Johnston was a member of First Baptist Church of Williams and the Bert Boozer Sunday School class. She was a charter member of the Nannie Douthit Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for a number of years as a sales clerk at TG&Y, Wal-Mart and other stores. She enjoyed quilting and traveling with her church group. According to her family, she was an avid Braves fan, even when they weren’t winning.

HERB

Services for Margaret Herb, 80, of Gadsden were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Dr. Phillip Young officiated.
Mrs. Herb died Friday.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Jane Herb of Southside and Guy and Shirlene Herb of Jacksonville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gloria Taylor of Jacksonville and Sybil and Paul Chapman of Alpharetta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Sandy Phillips, Geoffrey Taylor, Chuck Herb, Griffin Herb and Clint Herb; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Claude Chandler Jr., of Bond, Miss.; and three sisters, Wilma Tessier of Bozrah, Conn., Phyllis Ferguson of Nash, Texas and Donna Copeland of Marshall, Texas.
Mrs. Herb was a native of Mississippi and a resident of Alabama for most of her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or to a favorite charity.
MacRAE

Graveside services for Nellie Haynes MacRae, 88, of 1500 Seventh Ave. NE were Sunday at 2 p.m. in Sharon Cemetery in Mount Gilead, N. C., with the Rev. Strad Sniveley officiating and McKeithan Funeral Home of Mount Gilead in charge. K. L. Brown Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. MacRae died Nov. 25 in Jacksonville.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne H. MacRae of Fayetteville, Ark.; a son, Robert A. MacRae of Jacksonville; a sister, Mrs. M. W. Sloan of Charlotte, N. C.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. MacRae, a native of Charlotte, was a resident of Charlotte and Mount Gilead most of her life. She was a resident of Jacksonville for the past one and one half years.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville and a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Mount Gilead where she served as organist for over 60 years.
