Services for Lois Easter Royall, 75, of Anniston will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford with Dr. Roland Brown and Pastor Bentley McQuinn officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Royall died Friday at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Royall; a daughter, Loray Stewart; a son, Phil Royall; a sister, Maxine Easter; two brothers, Eddie Easter and Ray Easter; five grandchildren, Allison Cavender, Chris Stewart, Kelly Brannam, Brad Royall and Trent Royall; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Royall, a Winston-Salem, N.C. native, had lived in Anniston two years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem. She was a homemaker.
Walker

OXFORD – Graveside services for Thelma Owens Walker, 101, of Oxford will be 3 p.m. today at Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery in Anniston with Dr. Rodney Gilmore officiating and Miller Funeral Home of Oxford in charge.
Mrs. Walker died Thursday at her home.
Survivors include two nieces, Mildred Sharman of Montgomery and Betty Owens of Jacksonville, Fla.; four nephews, Kenneth Owens and his wife, Bobbie, of Oxford, James C. Owens of Fruithurst, and Ray Owens and Jack Owens, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grand-niece, Kim Owens Mattox of Munford; a grand-nephew, Todd Owens of Oxford; and several great-grand-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Owens, Todd Owens, Russell Bryant, Mayor Leon Smith, Brett Mattox and Dale Kendricks.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the Christian Scientist Church of Boston. She was an artist who studied under Robert Brackman in Noank, Conn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Yoe Walker.
Wilkins

INDIANAPOLIS – Services for Hazel Louise Carter Wilkins, 72, of Indianapolis, formerly of Anniston, were Sept. 4 at Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis with Dr. Melvin B. Girton Sr. officiating. Burial was in New Crown Cemetery with Marvin L. Boatright Funeral Service, Inc. of Indianapolis in charge.
Mrs. Wilkins died Aug. 30 at her home.
Survivors include a son, George M. Carter; two granddaughters, Shirley A. Witherspoon and Cabreia Carter; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wilkins was a member of Christ Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Altar Circle and Sunday School. She attended Anniston City schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Northeast Senior Citizen’s Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Wilkins; her parents, Berry and Minnie Lou Carter; and two sisters, Bennie Morris Carter and Lee Orian Carter Dye Muldrow.
CHANEY

Services for Lovella B. Chaney, 89, were at 2 p.m. Oct. 24 with K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel, with Revs. Gene Bledsoe and Lonnie Welch officiating. Burial was in Jacksonville City Cemetery with K. L. Brown Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Chaney died Oct. 22 at her home.
Survivors include five sons and two daughters-in-law, Billy Joe Chaney, Thomas L. Chaney, William E. and Patricia Chaney; Larry R. and Penny Chaney and Kenneth R. Chaney, all of Jacksonville; three daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Taylor, Marie Batchelor, and Gail and Richard Bivins, all of Jacksonville; one sister, Maybelle Johnson of Jacksonville; one brother, Vernon Holder of Oxford; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and a special caregiver, Monica Cooley.
Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of New Beacon Hospice.
Mrs. Chaney was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, a member of the Holiness faith, was a textile worker for 36 years, retiring from Union Yarn Mill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Chaney; one daughter, Mary Jane Chaney; one sister, Francis Hunt; and two brothers, Grady Dempsey and Hubert Dempsey; and one grandchild, Jeffery Chaney.

DEATON

Services for Gladys H. Deaton of Jacksonville, formerly of Albertville, were at 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Shawn Sims officiating. Burial was in the Marshall Memory Gardens in Albertville.
Mrs. Deason died Oct. 24 at Piedmont Health Care.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Read of Jacksonville; a brother, Arvil Wall of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Lois Jones and Audry Satterfield, both of Jonesboro, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Ollie Faye Savage of Stockbridge, Ga.; four grandchildren, Denise Worthy of Powder Springs, Ga., Ken and Bonnie Read of Hopkinton, R. I., and Beverly Phillips of Yonges Island, S. C.; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Worthy and Jennifer and Zach Read; and a great-great-grandchild, Kameron Worthy.
Mrs. Deaton was a Georgia native and had lived in Jacksonville six years. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Oxford and was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Albertville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Deaton; her parents, Luther and Vinnie Wall; three brothers, Roy Wall, M. C. Wall and Wilmer Wall, and a sister, Arnonteen Smith.
DICKIE

Services for Louis C. Dickie Jr., 53, of Anniston, were at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel with Rev. Race Lariscy, Dr. Rick Reaves and Dr. Neal Schooley officiating. Burial was in Forestlawn Gardens.
Mr. Dickie died Oct. 24 in Anniston.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Haynes Dickie of Anniston; two daughters, Alicia Anne Dickie of Nashville and Kristen Beth Dickie of Anniston; a brother, William Dickie of Atlanta; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Watson and Mary “Boots” Haynes of Weaver.
Pallbearers were Clay Walker, Danny Castell, Eddie Johnson, Mike Hammonds, Keith Boozer, Jimmy Webber, Lamont Rothrock and Darryl Shelton.
Mr. Dickie was a native of Calhoun County, where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and Jacksonville State University and was employed at Anniston Army Depot more than 30 years, which included eight years of employment with the federal government in Germany. He was a production management specialist at Anniston Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Carl Dickie Sr., and Mary Inez Boozer Dickie.
WHEELER

Services for Jack Keith Wheeler, 79, of Pleasant Grove were at 2:30 Oct. 22 at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Wheeler died Oct. 20.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine “Gerry” Wheeler of Pleasant Grove; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Keith “Chris” of Locust Fork and Mike and Wanda Wheeler of Pleasant Grove; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph Rogers and Elsie Wheeler of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wheeler was retired with 22 years active duty with the U. S. Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove, where he served in numerous capacities. He was preceded in death by a son, Maj. Roland Patrick Wheeler, USMC.
