Services for Richard Scott Williams, 52, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Jacksonville, were Oct. 24 at St. Paul CME Church, with Rev. Robert Bonner officiating. Burial was in Jacksonville City Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge.
Mr. Williams died Oct. 16 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa.
Survivors include one son, Richard Williams Jr., of Tampa; two daughters, Tashawnda Barnes of Goldsboro, N. C., and Myriah Williams of Tampa; three sisters, Margaret Smith of Nashville; Onna L. Barber of Huntsville, and Mary Ann Williams Burnett of Jacksonville; seven brothers, Curtis L. Williams of Maryland, Timothy R. Williams and Victor M. Williams, both of Jacksonville, L. C. Hines of Itta Bena, Miss., Jessie C. Williams of San Antonio, Texas, Ronald Williams of Tampa, and David J. Williams of Virginia Beach, Va.; his mother, Mary Ellen Williams of Jacksonville and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Aaron Nixon Jr., Scott Douglas, Russell Harrell, Cornell Wilson, Randolph Boozer, Travis Morris and Charles Herrell. Honorary pallbearers were brothers.
Mr. Williams served seven years in the Air Force. He was employed with Nu-Tec Roofing Co. in Tampa and was a member of the St. Paul CME Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and swimming. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Williams; grandmother, Essie B. Keith; uncles, John Williams and Jarrett Williams II; and aunts, Gabrella W. Leavell and Josephine W. Garrett.
CARTER

Services for Patricia O. Carter, 59, of Piedmont were at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at Thompson Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Tommy McCoy officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter died Nov. 8 at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Carter of Piedmont; three sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Susan Carter of Cumming, Ga., Shawn and Lori Carter of Jacksonville and Darren and Cynthia Carter of Grenada, Miss.; her mother, Matilda Oxford of Hartford, Ark.; a sister, Lois Acoach of Charleston, Ark.; two brothers, Earl Oxford and Everett Oxford, both of Hartford, Ark.; five grandchildren, Adam Carter, Deven Carter, Aubrey Carter, Harrison Carter and Avery Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jason Scogin, David Trammell, Von Ledbetter, Allen Kerr, Brian Smith and Danny Curtis.
Mrs. Carter was an Arkansas native and resident of Piedmont. She was employed at SCT Yarns for 18 years and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin “Sport” Oxford.
CHIEPALICH

Services for John Barbich “J. B.” Chiepalich Jr., 79, were at 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Bert Breland officiating.
Mr. Chiepalich died Nov. 6 at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Jane “Ria Jane” Clinkscales Chiepalich; four daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Jane C. and Michael A. Wells of Andalusia, Mary V. and Edgar Suttles and Emma C. and James Sloan, all of Birmingham, Patricia C. and Fred Haigler of Eclectic; two sisters, Mary A. Shell of Foley and Christine P. Hays of Hot Springs, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Kathy S. Dudley, Brian C. Haigler, Maria W. Pezzoli, Katherine C. Wells, Greg Haigler, E. Lee Suttles, John M. Wells, Sarah E. Wells, and Emma E. Suttles; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Chiepalich, a Mobile native and a Jacksonville resident since 1961, was a member of the First Baptist Church. He served in the Army in World War II as a deep sea diver, specializing in demolition. He was a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Northeast Alabama Chapter of CPAs, Alabama Society of CPAs, American Legion, VFW and Anniston Rotary Club. He retired in 1986 as comptroller of FMC Corp., Steel Production Division.
CRISWELL

A funeral mass for Brian Joseph Criswell, 27, of Vestavia Hills was at 10 a.m. Nov. 4 at Our Lady of Sorrow Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Father Derring officiated. Patterson Funeral Home of Hueytown was in charge.
Mr. Criswell died Nov. 1.
Survivors include his parents, Phillip R. and Elizabeth Criswell of Vestavia Hills; a sister, Melissa Criswell of Jacksonville; and his paternal grandmother, Reba Criswell of Pensacola, Fla.
Mr. Criswell was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. He was a top wrestler in high school. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph E. and Kathleen Milan.
McNEAL

Graveside memorial services with full military honors for Alvin B. McNeal, 80, were at 2 p.m. Nov. 12 with Rev. Brett Kuchinski officiating. Burial was in Green lawn Memorial Gardens with K.L. Brown Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. McNeal died Nov. 9 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden.
Survivors include his wife, Frances McNeal of Jacksonville; four sons, David L. McNeal and Alan Dale McNeal, both of Jacksonville, Michael McNeal and his wife, Deborah of Wellington and Anthony S. McNeal of Alexander; a daughter, Vicki Romine of Sevierville, Tenn.; a brother, William McNeal of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Ginny Green Whaley, Brandon McNeal, Blair McNeal and Alecia McNeal; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. McNeal retired from Anniston Army Depot with 20 years service. He served 23 years in the military, having served in World War II, Korea and during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

MOORE

Services for Haskell T. Moore, 76, of Golden Springs were at 2 p.m. Nov. 7 at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Roland Brown officiating. Entombment was in Anniston Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mr. Moore died November 5 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Survivors include his wife, Ione Page Moore; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Winfred Moore of Columbus, Ga., and Timothy Alan and Joanna of Alexandria; three sisters, Edna Brown of Jacksonville, Marlene Sprayberry of Oxford and Barbara Barnett of Alexander City; and two grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Moore and Anna Kathryn Moore.
Pallbearers were Clinton Page, Clarence Page, Troy Page, Gene Page, Marion Sprayberry, Bert Barnett, Odis Brown and Jessie Lusk. Honorary pallbearers were nephews and members of the Fellowship Class of Golden Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Moore was a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He served as a deacon and taught Sunday school more than 50 years.
Mr. Moore grew up in the Cedar Springs community, graduated from Jacksonville High School and Jacksonville State University and served two years in the United States Navy. He taught a few years at Alexandria High School and was in the butane/propane business in Anniston for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. E. “Ed” and Anna Mae Bryant Moore, and a brother, William.
