Services for Hazel “Tots” Bryant Saunders, 83, were at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Rev. Bart Owens officiating. Burial was in Green lawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Saunders died Nov. 5 at her home.
Survivors include six nieces, Evelyn Kilmartin of Weaver, Eleanor Rolax of Anniston, Melda Witherby of Jacksonville, Edith Giordano of Taylors, S. C., Jimmie Nell Jediny of Rainbow City, and Joyce Harelson of Macon, Ga.; five nephews, Billy Bryant of Hokes Bluff, Bill Gibson and Jerry Hudgens, both of Riverside, Calif., Glen Bryant of Jacksonville, and Eddie Bryant of Southside, and several grand nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jim Kilmartin, Eddie Bryant, Glen Bryant, Mike Witherby, Bruce Butterworth, Lance Rolax, Jaime Butterworth, Richard Rolax and Norris Rolax.
Mr. Saunders was a member of West Side Baptist Church. She retired from Kitchin’s as a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Conway Saunders; her parents, James F. and Ollie McClellan Bryant; two sisters, Gladys Hudgens and Robbie Bryant; and two brothers, James E. Bryant Jr., and Clyde E. Bryant.
ANDREWS

Graveside services for William F. “Bill” Andrews, 66, were at 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Truman Norred officiating and Thompson Funeral Home of Piedmont in charge.
Mr. Andrews died Oct. 30 at Jacksonville Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia S. Andrews; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Blake Driskill of Trussville and Michele and Joseph Barnes of Jacksonville; a son, Darrell Andrews of Jacksonville; two sisters, Margaret Hayes of Piedmont and Sarah Andrews of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Jessa Barnes and Joshua Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were David Roper, Lamar Bass, Troy Gleason, Junior Barnes, Floyd Amos, Tracey Barnes and Ricky Warren.
Mr. Andrews, a Jacksonville area native, was a member of West Side Baptist Church. He retired from Anniston Army Depot with 28 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Tiny Andrews; three sisters, Edna Mae Faulkner, Mary Hardy and Barbara Jean Andrews and a brother, John Andrews.
DEERMAN

Services for Bonnie Williams Deerman, 75, were at 11 a.m. Oct. 31 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Taylor officiating. Burial was in Green lawn Memorial Gardens with K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in charge.
Mrs. Deerman died Oct. 29 at Jacksonville Medical Center.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Susan Deerman and Sid W. Deerman, all of Jacksonville, and Alan and Pattie Deerman of Huntsville; a sister, Betty Covone of Cooper City, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Wayne Thompson of Dadeville; six grandchildren, David Deerman and his wife, Traci, Matthew Deerman, Jason Deerman, Austin Deerman, Miranda Deerman Griggs and her husband, Derek, and Nicole Holmes; two great-grandsons, an aunt, two niece and three nephews.
Pallbearers were David Deerman, Matthew Deerman, Jason Deerman, Austin Deerman, Michael Barron, Derek Griggs, Michael Covone and Neil Covone.
Mrs. Deerman was a member of First Baptist Church. She taught school for 32 years in Blount County, Calhoun County, Anniston City and as an adjunct instructor for Gadsden State and Jacksonville State University. She was a member of AEA and NEA, the Retired Teachers’ Association and United Daughters of the Confederacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Van B. Deerman; a son, Guy Steven Deerman; her parents, Lewis Williams and Minnie Williams Williamon; her stepfather, Cecil Williamon; a sister, Louise Williams Thompson, and a brother-in-law, Anthony Covone.

ELLIS

Service for Jared Kendall Ellis, 18, were at 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Mattox officiating. Burial was in Green sport Baptist Cemetery in St. Clair County.
Mr. Ellis died Oct. 28 in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his mother, Brenda Kay Duke Ellis of Jacksonville; a sister, Jessica Audrey Ellis of Jacksonville; and his grandparents, Aubrey Duke of Gadsden and Martha Jo Davis of Ragland.
Mr. Ellis, an Etowah County native, had lived in Calhoun County most of his life. He attended Word of Life Church. He worked at Seafood World in Anniston and attended Pleasant Valley School and Jacksonville High School.
FRANKLIN

Graveside services for Mrs. Miriam B. Franklin of Jacksonville, formerly of Gadsden, were at 11 a.m. Nov. 20 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Chapel Hill Funeral Home of Anniston was in charge of services.
Mrs. Franklin died Nov. 17 at her home.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Michael III and Camille Franklin of Fayetteville, Ga., and David Morgan and Rebecca Franklin of Wilsonville and two grandchildren, Mary Katherine Franklin and Joseph Michael Franklin IV.
Mrs. Franklin was a native of Troy. She graduated from Troy High School and was valedictorian of her senior class and led in her class play. She attended Stevens College in Missouri and graduated from the University of Alabama where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She later obtained a master’s degree from Jacksonville State University. Mrs. Franklin belonged to the Gadsden Service Guild for a number of years, served on the Gadsden Library Board, was a member of several dance clubs and taught at General Forest and Southside high schools. She retired from the Houston Cole Library at JSU. She was a former member of the JSU faculty senate and remained close to the library after her retirement and maintained many friendship from JSU.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Michael Franklin Jr.; a sister, Mary Henderson Folmar, and a brother, Walter Black.

ANDERSON

Graveside services for Dorothy England Anderson, 77, of Hartselle, were at 1 p.m. Nov. 22 in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Ranburne. Peck Funeral Home was in charge. Butch Anderson officiated. Special speaker was Sybill Rogers, 15th District American Legion Auxiliary president.
Mrs. Anderson died Nov. 20 at her home.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Mullins of Huntsville; two sons, Butch Anderson and his wife of Decatur and Cecil Anderson and his wife of Charlotte, S. C.; a sister, Sybill Rogers of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Mrs. Anderson was a native of Calhoun County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 26, Anniston, and the senior citizen program in Hartselle. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W.. Anderson Sr.; a daughter, Teresa Sanford; her mother, Ellie England; her father, William H. England; and a sister, Billie Arnett.
