HEFLIN – Services for Truman Burch Perry, 22 months, of Heflin will be 9 a.m. Friday at Heflin First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 6-7 tonight at Dryden Funeral Home. Complete arrangements will be announced later by Dryden.
The child died Tuesday in Cleburne County.
Putman

WEDOWEE – Services for Minnie Lee Putman, 59, of Wedowee will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Heaven Bound Church of God with Revs. Freddie Whitley and Louis Cushings officiating. Burial will be in Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Putman’s house today, Friday and until 10 a.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Putman died Tuesday at Randolph Medical Center.
Survivors include two sisters, Kathy Cotton and Lula Pitts of Wedowee; a granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Terry Walker, Doug Sheppard, Rance Meadows, Benny Sheppard, Chester Huckabee, Arvel Sheppard and Junior Walker.
Mrs. Putman was a member of Zion Church of God and of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis W. Putman Jr.; a brother, Calvin Cobb Jr.; a sister, Leatha Ann Walker; and a son, Hershel Lee Mears Jr.
Thaxton

Services for William Riley Thaxton, 77, of Anniston will be noon Friday at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Revs. Mike Owens and Buddy Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Thaxton died Tuesday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Joanna Thaxton; a daughter and her husband, Joni Thaxton and Forney Russ of Eastaboga; two sons, William Stone "Bill" Thaxton of Oxford and Tim Thaxton and his wife, Kathey, of Saks; and six grandchildren, Colby Russ, Kathryn Russ, Jordan Thaxton, Jennifer Thaxton, Jessica Thaxton and Alison Thaxton.
Mr. Thaxton was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels and the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Leatherwood Baptist Church Building Fund, or to New Beacon Hospice.
Wells

COLLINSVILLE – Services for Ellen G. Wells, 90, of Collinsville, formerly of Anniston, will be 4 p.m. Friday at New Testament Church in Portersville with G.A. Hamby officiating and 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Bessemer with Rev. Lawrence Harris officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Bessemer with Ervin Funeral Chapel of Anniston in charge. The body will be at the church four hours prior to services.
Mrs. Wells died July 29 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Herman and Mary Louise Wells of Birmingham; 16 grandchildren, and 70 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends of the family.
Mrs. Wells was a mother of the church and a minister. She taught school and owned a business.

WOOD

Services for Jimmy Eugene Wood, 67, of Weaver were at 2 p.m. Aug. 25 at Leatherwood Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Owens officiating. Burial was in Forestlawn Gardens with Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Wood died Aug. 23 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, June Neely Wood; a daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Tracy Phillips of Ohatchee; a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Vicky Wood of Jacksonville; a sister, Dollie Thomas of Anniston; three brothers, Clarence Wood of Lineville, Lowell Wood of Jacksonville and Wilburn Wood of Oxford; and two grandsons, Jason Wood and Nolan Phillips.
Mr. Wood was a Jacksonville native and had lived in Weaver 35 years. He was employed by the Calhoun County Board of Education and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church.

McDONALD

Services for Brandy Joy Bivens McDonald, 27, were Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Smyrna, Ga., with Rev. William McDonald officiating and Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. McDonald died Aug. 20 at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Scott McDonald; two daughters, Tristen Ann and Brandy Taylor McDonald of Jacksonville; a son, Tanner Scott McDonald of Jacksonville; her father, J. W. Bivens I of Buchanan, Ga.; a sister, Kimberly Gail Bivens of Douglasville, Ga.; two stepsisters, Donna Dionne of Buchanan, Ga., and Debbie Warren of Whitesburg, Ga.; two brothers, Jimmy W. Bivens II of Douglasville and Derric Bivens of Villa Rica, Ga.; a stepbrother, Jason Parker of California; and a grandmother, Gladys R. Bivens of Lithia Springs, Ga.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Cook, Rocky McDonald, Jay McDonald, Cliff McDonald, Ray Pruitt, Bob Comstock, Jamey Pruitt and Dale Pruitt.
Mrs. McDonald, a native of Douglasville, was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Gail Bivens, and her stepmother, Glenda L. Bivens.
Willis Luther Savage

Services for Willis Luther Savage, 83, of Montevallo were at 2 p.m. Aug. 5 at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. Burial was in Montevallo Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Johnson and Frankie Godsey officiating.
Mr. Savage died Aug. 3 in Alabaster.
Survivors include his wife, Annie L. Savage of Montevallo; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Sue and John Thomas Cummings of Montevallo; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Martha Jean Savage of Pace, Fla.; a sister, Fannie Pearl Anderson of Jacksonville; a brother, Johnny Savage of Massillen, Ohio; seven children; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene Savage.
