Mattie Johns McLelland, 91, of the Fairfield Community, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at her residence. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home.

Annie Merle Johnson
Annie Merle Johnson, 82, of Opp, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, in an Opp hospital. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Peaceful Acres Cemetery.

William Paul “Bill” Smith
William Paul “Bill” Smith, of Andalusia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at his residence. A funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. from the Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Clifford and Rev. Woodrow Plant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday after 5:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Nora Kathleen McCarty
Nora Kathleen McCarty, 90, of Andalusia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, in an Opp nursing facility. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. William Goodson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Maxine Eiland Stricklin
Maxine Eiland Stricklin, 94, of Andalusia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at her residence. A funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Lois Diamond King
Lois Diamond King, 73, of the Hopewell community, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in a Pensacola, Fla. hospital. A funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Burial follow in Hopewell Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Erma Nell Ballard
Erma Nell Ballard, of Libertyville, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, in a local hospital.

Glen Moore
Glen Moore, 73, of River Falls, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, in River Falls. A funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at River Falls Baptist Church. Burial followed in River Falls Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Odis J. “Duke” DuBose
Odis J. “Duke” DuBose, 75, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at his residence. A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Mormon Tabernacle at Pine Level. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Hospice.

William Paul “Bill” Smith
William Paul “Bill” Smith, of Andalusia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at his residence. A member of the Macedonia Methodist Church for several years, he was a retired local radio personality with WAAO and WAMI. A former chairman of the Covington County Commission, he was a former member of the Ambassadors Quartet and the Old Timers Quartet. A funeral was held Thursday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. from the Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Clifford Matthews and Rev. Woodrow Plant officiating. The eulogy was read by Ron Taylor. Burial followed in the church cemetery with full military honors.

Maxine Eiland Stricklin
Maxine Eiland Stricklin, 94, of Andalusia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at her residence. A funeral was held Thursday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Cole officiating. Special music was provided by West Highland Church Choir accompanied by Sue Reeves. Burial followed in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery.

Mary Frances “Frankie” Coker
Mary Frances “Frankie” Coker, 65, of the Rawls community in Andalusia, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Rawls Cemetery with Rev. Sonny Steel officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 26, after 5:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Geneva Jordan Smith
Geneva Jordan Smith, 89, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in an Andalusia hospital. A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Church of Christ with Minister Mike Jones and Minister Mike Ray officiating. Special music will be provided by Cedar Grove Church Choir. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

William C. Cameron
William C. Cameron, 79, of Colleyville, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, in Colleyville. A veteran of WWII, he entered the military in 1942 as a member of the 81st Wildcat Division, was sent on overseas duty in the Pacific area and took part in the invasion of Auguar Island. He was awarded a bronze star and a purple heart for his military service. He worked at Bell Helicopter from 1952 until 1981. He excelled in animal husbandry. A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at Cameron Chapel Church in Crenshaw County with Rev. Andrew Till officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Yvonne Johnson, pianist. Burial will follow in Cameron Chapel Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Martha Ray
Martha Ray, 76, of Florala, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, in a Florala hospital. The daughter of the late Oscar and Louise Hatcher Mosley, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Florala. A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Florala with Wylly Collins, Richard Smith, and Oz Barnes officiating.

Linda Spicer
Linda Spicer, 50, of Paxton, Fla., died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at her residence. The daughter of the late John Chester Adams, she was a member of the Paxton Baptist Church and was a homemaker. A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home with Roland Norris and Frank McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Paxton Cemetery.

H.O. “Pat” Patterson
H.O. “Pat” Patterson, 72, of Jay, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in a Jay hospital after an extended illness. A native of Loango and a former resident of Andalusia, he was a retired owner/operator of Patterson Produce Trucking company and was of the Presbyterian Faith. A funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. P. J. McCung officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery.

A. B. “Beda” Odom
A, B. “Beda” Odom, 84, of the Antioch community, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, in an Opp hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

W. Ray Castleberry
W. Ray Castleberry, 61, of Andalusia, died at his residence. He had served in the United States Army and was currently a salesman with the Andalusia Ford Mercury Dealership. A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home with Randy Kelley officiating. A eulogy will be provided by a brother, Rev. J. T. Castleberry. Special music will be provided by Gina Tisdale-Bennett accompanied by Marlin Dickens. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

W. Ray Castleberry
W. Ray Castleberry, 61, of Andalusia, died at his residence. He had served in the United States Army and was currently a salesman with the Andalusia Ford Mercury Dealership. A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 14, after 6 p.m.

George R. Thomas
George R. Thomas, 75, of McKenzie, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, in a Greenville hospital. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Clifton Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Brooks Cemetery.

Nell Brewer Dunn
Nell Brewer Dunn, 69, of Andalusia, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at her residence. A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Music will be provide by Gail Parsons and Tom Parsons. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Peggy Hinson
Peggy Hinson, 62, of Florala, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, in a Crestview, Fla. hospital. A native of Coffee County, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. Golden Sr. and Bobbie Jones Golden. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Florala. A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Rainwater officiating. Burial will follow in Green wood Cemetery.

Henry McCall
Henry McCall, 85, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001. Born in Dozier, to H.P. and Callie Harris McCall, he was at one time an associate of the St. Petersburg Times and was retired from the Department of Defense of the United States Government. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. A funeral was held at Martin Thompson Funeral Home of Grapevine, Texas.

Floyd Alvie Roberts
Floyd Alvie Roberts, 87, of Florala, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at his residence. A life long resident of Covington County, he was the son of the late John I. and Etter Leonard Roberts. A life-time member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church, he was a farmer. A funeral will be held Sunday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home with William Aplin officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Sara Elizabeth Bowden Ward
Sara Elizabeth Bowden Ward, 86, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Andalusia, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in a Nashville nursing facility. A funeral was held Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Bryan officiating. Music was provided by Martha Ann Cordell. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.

Cancil Colvin
Cancil Colvin, 92, of Andalusia, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in an Andalusia nursing facility. A resident of Andalusia for 28 years, he was a former resident of Montgomery for more than 40 years before his retirement in 1973. A funeral was held Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Cassady officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Zion Church building fund.

Nelda Faye “Nell” Merrill
Nelda Faye “Nell” Merrill, 63, of Red Level, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in a Montgomery hospital. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Andy Till and Sharon Mitchell officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Marce Dudley “Hoppy” Cassady
Marce Dudley “Hoppy” Cassady, 67, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in a Dothan hospital. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force and was the manager of Martin Theatre for 28 years before his retirement. A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Boles officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

Ruth Briggs
Ruth Briggs, 62, of Port Orange, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, in a Daytona Beach, Fla. hospital. Born in Andalusia, she moved to Port Orange in 1995 from Milton, Fla. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Andalusia. A funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Grayson officiating. Music was provided by Marcus Briggs. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Sara Elizabeth Bowden Ward
Sara Elizabeth Bowden Ward, 86, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Andalusia, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in a Nashville nursing facility.
