Michael Arredondo, 54, director of cash services for Boy Scouts of America, died Monday, June 18, 2001, in Fort Worth, Texas. A funeral was held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, in Green wood Chapel. Burial of ashes followed in Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Straughn, Ala. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Green wood Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a retiree of the Andala Company where she was a supervisor for many years. Ellen Stokes More Wemyss
Ellen Stokes More Wemyss, the widow of the late E. L. More, passed away at her home in Gallatin, Tennessee on June 4th. Mrs. Wemyss was 106 years of age and one of the Nashville area's most prominent citizens. Covington County will remember Mrs. Wemyss as the wife of E. L. More, who established and operated the Horse Shoe Lumber Company at River Falls from the turn of the last century until the flood of 1929. More along with Cyrus A. O'Neal organized the River Falls Power Company, constructed the Point A dam and the Gantt dam bringing the first commercial quantity of electricity to this area of South Alabama. Visitation for Mrs. Wemyss was held on Thursday at the Church of Our Savior, 744 Hartsville Pike in Gallatin. A private family graveside service was held at Mount Olive Cemetery. Minister R. Ervin Driskell
Minister R. Ervin Driskell, 89, of Andalusia died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at his residence. He was born on November 13, 1911, in Sabinal, Texas to Mary Burleson Driskill and Malone Driskill, a Texas pioneer family. He was a minister for 60 years before poor health forced him into retirement. Mr. Driskill served in pulpits in Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, Arkansas and Indiana. Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 1, at 3 p.m. in Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater, Texas with Minister Ben May officiating.
