Warren Clayburn “W.C.” Girdner Jr., 78, of Gantt, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 in an Opp nursing facility. A WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Marines, he was a watch and clock repairman. A funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Minister Terry Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery.

Clayton Dewayne Cunningham
Clayton Dewayne Cunningham, 50, of Sanford, died Wednesday, Sept.19, 2001 at his resident. A funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Miller and Rev. Jack Thomasson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

John Raymond Heisler
John Raymond Heisler, 78, of Florala, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in a Crestview, Fla., nursing facility. A native of Wetumpka, he was the son of the late James N. Heisler and Annie Bass Heisler. He was engaged in logging operations and prepared poles for commercial use and later operated a club in the North Creek community. A funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home with Rev. John White officiating. Burial will follow in North Creek Cemetery.

Pearl Laird Miller
Pearl Laird Miller, 92, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4315 Main St., in Jacksonville, Fla. with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate 1). The family will receive friends and relatives at the chapel before the service. A descendant of pioneer families of Florida and Alabama, she was the daughter of Ada Victoria Zorn of Florala, Ala. and John Henry Laird of Panama City, Fla. She was the widow of the late William Whitfield Miller of Jacksonville. and was a former member of the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. She was retired as a schoolteacher at the Ruth N. Upton School in Jacksonville.

Clara Elanor McGhee Dubose
Clara Elanor McGhee Dubose, 65, of Cantonment, Fla. formerly of Dozier, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001. Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 21, at 3 p.m. at Dozier Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Sister Juanita Watson
Sister Juanita Watson, 71, of Opp, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in an Opp hospital. A funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. at Glory Tabernacle Church in Opp with Rev. Randy Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Acres with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Shirley Mae Odom Yawn
Shirley Mae Odom Yawn, 65, of Andalusia, formerly of Bainbridge, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in Andalusia. A funeral was held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Ga. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Ella Irene Reeves
Ella Irene Reeves, 82, of Andalusia, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in a Georgia hospital. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Lucille Boyd Jackson
Lucille Boyd Jackson, 75, of Red Level, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in an Andalusia hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson were co-owners of J.M. Transportation Company of Montgomery. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 27 at Fairmount Baptist Church in Red Level with Rev. Drexel Copeland officiating. Burial will be held in Wadsworth Cemetery in Wadsworth.

Annie Evelyn Sanders
Annie Evelyn Sanders, of Opp, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in an Opp hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

James A. Warthen
James A. Warthen, 70, of Gantt, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001 in a Dothan hospital. A funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Lee and Rev. Robert Canant officiating. Music provided by guitarist Judd Holderfield and Rocky Gravley. The song “My Heart Will Go On” was dedicated by his daughter, Karen. Burial followed in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with full military rites.

Amanda Suzette Lunsford
Amanda Suzette Lunsford, 15, of Andalusia, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, in a Birmingham hospital. A funeral was held Monday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Marie White officiating. Special music was provided by Brittney Scoffield and Josh Simmons. Burial followed in Lunsford Family Cemetery in Babbie.

Porter Coston Williamson
Porter Coston Williamson, 74, of Gantt, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at his residence. A funeral was held Monday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Sonny Steele officiating. Special music provided by Sue Rawls and accompanied by Carolyn Smith. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.

Willfred Virgil Lord
Willfred Virgil Lord, 85, of Auburn, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, in Russell Hospital. Mr. Lord served in the United States Army during World War II as a Battery Commander where he received an American Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, French Service Cross, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. He retired from the State Department of Veterans Affairs after 31 years of employment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Rhonda Jo Lenoir Clark
“I am a thousand winds that blow” A beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Rhonda Jo Lenoir Clark, 42, of Yellow River Community, formerly of Baton rouge, La. died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 19, 2001 at her residence. A funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 10:30 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home until time of services.

Durward Griffin
Durward Griffin, 78, of Andalusia, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001 at his residence. A funeral was held Monday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Freeman and Rev. Scott Stevens. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

James R. Eiland
James R. Eiland, 80, of Andalusia, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, in an Opp hospital. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Brother Monroe Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

George Taylor “Bruno” Bronaugh III
George Taylor “Bruno” Bronaugh III, 82, of Dozier, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at his residence. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Gantt with Worshipful Master Howard Oliver officiating. Visitation will be at his residence Tuesday until time of service.

Lena Dewrell Hall
Lena Dewrell Hall, 85, of Pensacola, Fla., died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at a local nursing home. Born September 18, 1916 to G.W. (Robert) and Ada Belle Dewrell in Covington County, she had been a resident of Pensacola since 1940. Mrs. Hall was a member of Olive Baptist Church and she retired from St. Regis Paper Co., Bag Division (Champion) in 1973. She was a member of Florida Chapter #9 OES, Past Matron of Ferry Pass Chapter #294 OES, Past Matron of Five Flags Court #49 Order of the Amaranth, Past Bethel Guardian of Job’s Daughter Bethel #14, and a member of Margaret Olsen #90 Rebecca Lodge. A funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at Olive Baptist Church of Pensacola with Rev. Eugene Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park with Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel directing.

Martha Cannady Pine
Martha Cannady Pine, 74, of Andalusia, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at her residence. A native of Jackson, she moved to Andalusia in 1962/. She worked as a secretary in the Covington County District Attorney’s office. A funeral was held Monday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church with Father John Holliman officiating. Music was provided by Cindy Perrin. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Tom Prestwood
Tom Prestwood, 53, of Andalusia, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at his residence. A funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Kelley and Rev. Earl Currenton officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Home Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Bobby Joe Clark
Bobby Joe Clark, 62, of Dozier, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in an Andalusia hospital. A funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. John Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Rawls Cemetery.

Joseph M. Capps
Joseph M. Capps, 39, of Houston, Texas, died Wednesday, October 17, 2001, in a Houston hospital. He was an Information Technologist in Industry Computer Science. A funeral was held Monday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Dr. Robert White and Rev. Jerry Chumley officiating. Music was provided by Dr. Robert White and Mrs. Jean Paulk. Burial followed in River Falls Cemetery.

Richard J. “Goat” Geohagan
Richard J. “Goat” Geohagan, 42, of Andalusia, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, in an Andalusia hospital. A memorial service was held Sunday, October 21, at 3:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Little officiating.

Camma Holladay Cook
Camma Holladay Cook, 87, of Andalusia, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, in an Andalusia hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Foreman Funeral Home.

Bert Foster
Bert Foster, 68, of Freeport, Fla., formerly of Andalusia, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at his residence. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mary Albritton Cabaniss
Mary Albritton Cabaniss, 87, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Cabaniss was born Nov. 22, 1913 to Mr. and Mrs. William Harold Albritton of Andalusia. Mr. and Mrs. Cabaniss lived in Schenectady, N.Y. from 1945 thru 1965 and in Syracuse, N.Y. from 1971 to 1992. Mr. Cabaniss worked with General Electric. A funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Andalusia with Rev. Janet Looby officiating. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the National Office of Alzheimer’s Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, Ill., 60611.

Myrtle Lee Davis
Myrtle Lee Davis, 69, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, in a Dothan hospital. A funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 12 p.m. until time of services.

Camma Holladay Cook
Camma Holladay Cook, 87, of Andalusia, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001 in an Andalusia hospital. A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Faircloth and Dr. Paul B. Fowler officiating. Music will be provided by Jeanice Kirkland, Soloist, and John Beasley, Organist. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
