Joel Faircloth and Rev. Bob Randall officiating. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Music provided by Frankie Lancaster, Sara Robinson, Samantha Pollock and Chris Randall accompanied by Jeanice Kirkland.

Ruth S. Pifer, 81, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, in a Georgia hospital. A funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at First Congregational Church, Dunson St. with Rev. J.T. Castleberry. Burial will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church 30 minutes prior to service.

Hollis Adams, 76, of Andalusia, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in a Dothan hospital. A funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m.

Alan Mullins
Alan Mullins, 45, of Auburn, formerly of Andalusia, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001. Born in Andalusia on January 31, 1956, he was preceded in death by his father, Luther Cross Mullins. Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at Andalusia Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Dale Rector officiating and Frederick’s Funeral Home of Opelika directing.
L.C. Dubose
L.C. Dubose, 73, of Andalusia, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, in a local hospital. A longtime resident of Santa Rosa County, He was born May 28, 1928 in Opp. He served in Japan after World War II as Army Engineer PFC with the 2nd Armory Division. Mr. Dubose worked as a mechanic of various construction jobs. A funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home of Milton, Fla., with Elder Jay Blocker and Elder Wayne Blocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Crain Cemetery.

Velma Higdon Terry, 95, of Pell City, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Red Level and served as the Post Mistress at the Red Level Post Office for five years. She was also a member of the Red Level Womens Club. Graveside services will be held Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. A.L. Courtney officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Red Level. Edward McKendrick Pace
Edward McKendrick Pace, 81, of Andalusia, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Pace grew up in New Harmony, Ind. and was a resident of Andalusia for the last 10 years. Mr. Pace retired as a Division Manager for Koehring, Inc. in Port Washington, Wisc. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Andalusia and a 3rd Degree Mason of Artic Lodge #394 in New Harmony, Ind. A funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Judd Stinson officiating. Eulogy will presented by Mac Pace, grandson. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony, Ind.
Dr. Edward Ayers Dannelly, III
Dr. Edward Ayers Dannelly, III, 54, died January 1, 2002. Born December 15, 1947, in Alexandria, Va., he was the son of the late Edward Ayers Dannelly Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Twinkle) Burns Dannelly. Ed Dannlley Jr. was editor and publisher of the Andalusia Star News for over 20 years. He was active in Boy Scouts, earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was awarded the Order of the Arrow. He was valedictorian of the 1966 class at Andalusia High School. After attending Davidson College, he attended the University of Alabama Medical School in Birmingham, where he was a member of the AOA honor medical society and graduated third in his class. Dr. Dannelly completed a general surgery internship and a four-year orthopedic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Following his residency, he practiced orthopedics at the Athens, Ga. Orthopedic Clinic with his father-in-law, Dr. Hugh Brady Haston Jr. In 1979 he established the first orthopedic surgery practice in Galax, Va., which he enjoyed until his retirement in October of 2000. Dr. Dannelly was a strong proponent of physical fitness in both his personal and professional lives. He successfully completed both the 1997 and 2000 Marine Corps Marathons. In the year 2000, the Virginia State Parks System began construction on the Edward A. Dannelly, III Fitness Complex to honor Ed’s contributions to his community. The Dannelly Fitness Complex opened in the fall of 2001. Visitation with the family is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the First United Methodist Church of Galax. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 6, at the First Baptist Church of Galax. There will be a private burial for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 46, in care of Andalusia First United Methodist Church; the Edward A. Dannelly III Fitness Complex, Cliffview Ranger Station, 415 Cliffview Road, Galax, Va, 24333; or the charity of one’s choice.
