Alabama, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1805-1967 - 1814-1935

Marie Miller

Marie Miller, 87, of Red Level, died Monday, March 18, 2002, in Bolder, Colo.

A funeral will be held Sunday, March 24 at 3 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and JoAnn Miller of Andalusia; and a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tyree Calvin of Boulder; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

B. Hubert Hale

B. Hubert Hale, 81, of Ozark, died Monday, March 18, 2002 in an Ozark nursing facility, following a brief illness.

Born in Ozark to the late Jesse D. and Willie Mae Howard Hale, he was a member of Westview Heights Methodist Church and a long term member of the Elks Club of Dothan. He served in the United States Army during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, and the European African Eastern Campaign Metal with one Bronze Service Star.

A funeral will be held Thursday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Rev. Phil Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Rick Dean of Anderson, S.C.; a grandson, Jason Hale Dean of Acworth, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Lucas Dean and Jillian Lindsay Dean; a brother, Aubrey Hale of Ozark; and two sisters, Ethel Mae Bozeman of Pensacola, Fla. and Dorothy Powers of Andalusia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Golden Hale.

Eva Mae Boling

Eva Mae Boling, 84, of Andalusia, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, in an Andalusia hospital.

A funeral was held Monday, March 18 at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Special music was provided by Virginia Know and accompanied by Pat Littles. Burial followed in Judson Cemetery.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Virginia Knox of Wing; a brother and sister-in-law, Reedie and Mattie Pearl Knox of Andalusia; two grandchildren and spouses, Kim and Robert Ernendez and Karen and Larry Dean; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ernendez and Robert David Dean.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Boling; three brothers, J.T. Knox, George Knox, O.W. “Dub” Knox; and a sister, Zadie Hawn.

Pallbearers were nephews, Steve Knox, Wayne Knox, Bennie Joe Knox, Chuck Barton and Thomas Fowler. Honorary pallbearers were nephews, Billy Knox and Donald Knox.

Jeanette Hall Frost

Jeanette Hall Frost, 62, of Andalusia, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 in an Opp hospital.

A funeral was held Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Minister Mike Jones officiating. Music provided by Zion Hill Baptist Church Choir. Burial followed in Good Hope Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Frost and Eugene Odom; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael W. and Terri Frost, all of Andalusia, and Randy L. and Donna Frost of Dozier; eight grandchildren, Robbie Odom, Ricky Odom, Trina Piland, Suzanne Frost, Ashley Frost, Brandi Frost, Michele Frost and Victoria Frost; two grandchildren, Kaleb Piland and Austin Odom; and a brother, Shelton Andrews of Andalusia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Frost.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Grissett, Donnie Grissett, Terry Turner, Tammy Turner, Tracy Turner, Tony Turner, Wade Thomasson and Ricky Jordan.

Vivian Jeanette Watson

Vivian Jeanette Watson, 62, of Geneva, died Sunday, March 10, 002 in a Dothan hospital, after a long illness.

Born in Covington County to the late J.V. and Tessie Windham Gomillion, she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, March 13 at 10 a.m. at Pittman Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Chris Adams and Rev. Gary R. Miller officiating. Burial will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny E. “Ed” Watson of Geneva; two daughters and son-in-law, Kim Watson and Jeff Mauldin of Dothan and Kathy Watson Thompson of Geneva; four grandchildren, John Mauldin, Kecia Mauldin, Dusty Thompson and Katy Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Kortnie Mauldin and Alex Mauldin.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Eugene Gomillion.

Pallbearers will be Donald Knox, Larry Maddox, Donnie Maddox, John Mauldin and Dusty Thompson.

Mary Ida Holley

Mary Ida Holley, 82, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 in Shelby County.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

Hazel Joyce Brooks

Hazel Joyce Brooks, 69, of Andalusia, died Friday, March 2, 2002, in a Dothan hospital

A funeral will be held Saturday, March 2 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Bullock County with Rev. Jere Hendricks, Rev. Mark Helms, and Rev. Jay Driver officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.

Survivors include three sisters and brothers-in-law, Merle and Herbert Webb of Andalusia, Eleanor and Aubrey Smith of Gantt, and Willa Dean Rotton of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted of memorials may be sent to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church or Macedonia Baptist Church, 4211 Co. Rd. 15, Union Springs, AL 36089.

Betty J. (Harsey) McCoy

Betty J. (Harsey) McCoy, 64, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died Wednesday, March 27, 2002.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 2, at 1:00 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home and Keahey Funeral Home handling the arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy McCoy, Amy McCoy, and Sheila and Barry Kroll; five grandchildren, James Allan McCoy, Carla Soder, Natalia Kroll, Erica Kroll and Lacretia Marchant; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Barbara Harsey and James and Arvie Lee Harsey; a sister, Hazel (Mott) Bozeman; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Gary Harsey, Buzz Harsey, Randall Harsey, Brandon Goldin, Bubba Bozeman and Robby McQuade.

James “Tommy” Jones

James “Tommy” Jones, 68, of the Straughn community, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, in an Andalusia hospital.

He retired from Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery where he had worked as a civil service aircraft mechanic. He had also serviced in the United States Air Force and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

A funeral will be held Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Katie Jones of the Straughn community; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Shelton Mangum of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Joshua Wren, Jeremy Wren, and Brian Wren; a brother, William Ray Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two nephews, Michael Chaney and William Jones.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Faye Chaney and a brother, Alfred Wayne Jones.

Pallbearers are Bill Tillman, Bobby Cobb, Ed Byers, Gene Baisden, Michael Chaney and Johnie Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Andy Edwards, Harold Scott, Robert Brawner, Lenzy Brooks and Leotis Garrett.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the American Heart Association S.E. Affiliate, P.O. Box 672648, Marietta, Ga 30006-0045.

Andrew Veston Sharp Sr.

Andrew Veston Sharpe Sr., 69, of Ponca City, Okla., died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002 in a Via Christi, Okla. hospital.

A funeral will be held Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery with Grace Memorial Chapel directing.

Fritz Karl Otto II

Fritz Karl Otto II, 50, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at his residence.

A funeral was held Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Turner officiating. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Meredith Otto of Andalusia; three sons, Justin Otto of Pensacola, Fla, Terry Otto, and David Otto, both of Andalusia; a daughter and son-in-law, Meredith and Jerry Brannon of Ludowici, Ga.; a grandchild, Jake Brannon; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Otto of Jay, Fla.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Harvey Smith of Cantonment, Fla. and Debra and Jack Wages of Vancleave, Miss.; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Karl Otto of Augusta, Ga. and Erich and Sue Otto of Mobile.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Brannon, Ashton Wells, Nick Nichols, Randy Godwin, Jack Wages and Harvey Smith.

Rev. Webster Sasser

Rev. Webster Sasser, 76, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, in an Andalusia hospital.

A funeral was held Friday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Turman and Rev. David Sims officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Music was provided by Jewell and Betty Sasser, Larry Sasser, Ray Sasser, pianist.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Sasser; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Kaye Sasser and Clint and Alesia Sasser; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharron and Kenneth Jones, all of Andalusia; six grandchildren, Justin Sasser, Melinda Sasser, Jonathan Jones, Drew Jones, Shane Jones, Mary Beth Sasser and Zachary Sasser; a brother, Camp Sasser of Andalusia; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Virgil Sasser, Steve Sasser, Donnie Sasser, Dallas Henderson, Mark Rogers and Sammy Rogers. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.

Vivian F. Sapp

Vivian F. Sapp, 88, of Andalusia, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002 in an Elba nursing facility.

A funeral will be held Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at Foreman Funeral home with Rev. Eugene Meadows and Rev. John Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Oakey Ridge Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Chaffin of Huntsville and Betty Kelley of Andalusia; two sins, Jim Sapp of Nashville and Ted Sapp of Andalusia; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elton Folmer; a sister, Bernice Green e, both of Andalusia; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Henry Kelley, Ralph Barefoot, Delmar Wiggins, Jesse Wiggins, Johnnie Meeks and Michael Stewart.

James “Tommy” Jones

James “Tommy” Jones, 68, of the Straughn community, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, in an Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

Fritz Karl Otto II

Fritz Karl Otto II, 50, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at his residence.

A funeral will be held Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
