Services for Jerry W. Fine, 51, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, Dudley Brock officiating, with burial in East Point Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mr. Fine died Monday, July 22 at his residence. He was born May 11, 1951 in Alabama to Virgil Z. and Florence Rooks Fine. He graduated from Cullman High School in 1969. He attended Auburn University and then served in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a business manager for a restaurant.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother; a brother, Larry Virgil Fine; two sisters, Martha Fine Swift of Scottsboro and Wanda Fine Taylor of Roswell, Ga.; three nieces, Shelley Hessom, Melanie Fore and Melissa Carnes; three nephews, Scott Linton, Stan Linton and Shane Linton; four great-nieces; five great-nephews; and nursing aides, Diane Morgan, Jackie Morgan, Teresa Luker and Dusty Isom.
Visitation was Tuesday.
Frances Love Goodwin
Services for Frances Love Goodwin, 80, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2002 at Vinemont First Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Goodwin died Tuesday, July 23 at her residence. She was born in Cullman County on March 26, 1922 to Max and Avie Love. She was a homemaker, a bookkeeper fro Cullman Radio and TV and a long-time member of Vinemont First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ora Nix, Estelle White; and two brothers, Elmer Love and Fred Love.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Curtis Goodwin; two daughters, Martha Porter of Birmingham, Melba (Mickey) Wiegand of Cullman; two sons, Ken (Sylvia) Goodwin of Panama City Beach, Fla., Howard (Cindy) Goodwin of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Sondra (Tim) Ramsden of Andalusia, David (Janet) Goodwin, Stephanie Porter both of Birmingham, Anne (Trey) Wilson of St. Augustine, Fla., Amy (Scott) Browning, of Mobile, Nathan Wiegand of Cullman; one great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Ramsden of Andalusia; four sisters, Jessie Key, Mary (Tom) Scott both of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Inez (Haran) Golden of Rogersville, Jean Roden of Huntsville; two brothers, John (Emma Sue) Love of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Max (Faye) Love Jr. of Rogersville; two sisters-in-law, Venora Love of Cullman, Costella Love of Bonnertown, Tenn.; three brothers-in-law, Doyle (Susie) Goodwin of Cullman, Wallace (Margie) Goodwin of Gurley, Robert Goodwin of Decatur; and 27 nieces and nephews.

Patricia Ann ‘Patti’ Smith
Services for Patricia Ann “Patti” Smith, 58, of Baileyton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Duck Creek Baptist Church, Dennis Reeves and Robert Morgan officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Smith died Monday, July 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born in Cullman County on June 16, 1944 to Rev. Ocie K. and Bulah Mae Fanning Morgan. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Smith; her father; and a sister, Florene Waldrep.
Survivors include her mother; a son, Jeffrey B. (Priscilla) Smith of Cullman; a daughter, Angelia Smith (Ted) Hendrix of Baileyton; three brothers, Kennith Morgan of Cullman, Robert Morgan of Oden Ridge, and Keith Morgan of Nashville, Tenn.; eight sisters, Dot Reeves, Faye Cobbs, Gloria Winton all of Cullman, Betty Graham of Eva, Geraldean Poole of Lacon, Karen Barbee of Hanceville, Susan McNutt and Regina Thomas both of Hartselle; special friend, John Marcinowski of Cullman; and four grandchildren, Rocky Smith, Rodney Smith, Zachary Smith and Tyler Hendrix.

Melba Reba Yongue

Mrs. Yongue died Monday, July 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1927 in Morgan County to Thomas David and Velma Boyd. She was a teacher’s aide.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Carrion Durham of Altha, Fla.; a brother, Donald (Glacia) Boyd of Morrsboro, N.C.; two sisters, Fay Kerlin and Carolyn Smith both of Birmingham; and two grandsons, Christopher (Margaret) Durham and Michael Durham, both of Hanceville.

Bill Lipham
Services for Bill Lipham, 88, of Albertville will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2002 at Guntersville Memorial Chapel and Crematory, David Jordan and Paul Jordan officiating, with burial in Diamond Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie King Lipham.
Survivors include four daughters, Deborah Lipham of Albertville, Maggie Teague and Carolyn Masters both of Boaz, Brenda Slaton of Arab; a son, Cleatis Lipham of Albertville; three sisters-in-law, Bertha Lipham of Guntersville, Wynell Lipham of Florida and Flossie King of Arab; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Pearce, Scott Pearce, Wayne Smith, Jim Smith, Donald Causey and Paul Turner.

Bobby Ray Cates
Services for Bobby Ray Cates, 65, of Hayden were Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Sulpher Springs Cemetery in Hayden.

Mr. Cates died Saturday, July 20. He was a veteran of the U.S. military.

Mrs. Chaffin died Wednesday, July 24 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born in Tennessee on Jan. 17, 1910 to Noah and Francis America Gentry Hensley. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest D. Chaffin; and her grandson, David Earl Harbison.
Survivors include her son, Earl Chaffin; two daughters, Pauline Harbison and Kathy Campbell; a sister, Gladys Adcock; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tucker died Thursday, July 25 at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born April 30, 1918 to Marvin and Lena Aycock Connell. She was a homemaker and a member of Spirit Life Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Herschel Tucker.

Mr. Currie died Wednesday, July 24 at his residence. He was born March 13, 1917 in Winston County to P.F. and Dealia Box Currie. He was a retired electrician and air conditioning contractor in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a veteran with the U.S. Army in Trinidad, British West Indies and in New Guinea during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mervineelam Currie; a son, Ray (Florence) Currie of Phoenix.; two grandsons, Sean Patrick (Elizabeth) Currie and Ryan Blaine (Jennifer) Currie, all of Phoenix.; three great-grandsons, Matthew, Nathan and Dustin Currie all of Phoenix; a niece, Sharon Ward; three sisters, Mary Tidwell and Ada Lay of Curry, and Floye Winslett of Montgomery; two brothers, Lawrence Currie of Walnut Hill, Fla. and P.F. Currie of Blythe, Calif.
