Funeral services for Gertha Moore Bradford, 86, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Phillip Young and Bob Murray officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Bradford died Thursday, Sept. 26 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born Sept. 19, 1916 to Isaac and Lou Hughes Moore. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bervil Bradford; and a grandson, Brook Turner.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwen (Russell) Arnold of Hanceville and Kay (Ray) Turner of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Herbert (Kim) Arnold, James (Melissa) Arnold, both of Cullman, and Paise Baccus of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; and six great-grandchildren.

Audrey Alice Sapp
Funeral services for Audrey Alice Sapp, 87, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Lawrence Normand officiating, with burial in New Prospect Cemetery in Cullman.

Mrs. Sapp died Thursday, Sept. 26 in Cullman. She was born in Cullman County on Nov. 14, 1914 to Dennis and Rettie Fowler Burns.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Clarence Sapp.
Survivors include a brother, O.F. Burns of San Antonio, Texas; and a sister, Deloris Reichwein of Cullman.
Visitation was Thursday.
Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Huck Schmidt
Funeral services for Elizabeth “Lizzie” Huck Schmidt, 81, of Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, were Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002 in Canada.
First Memorial Funeral Services of Penticton, B. C., Canada was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schmidt died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 at her residence. She was born in Cullman on Sept. 19, 1921 to Guido and Martha Huck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Mel Schmidt.
Survivors include one sister, Charlotte Budweg of Cullman.
J.D. ‘Durb’ Britt
Funeral services for J.D. “Durb” Britt, 79, of Holly Pond will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at Holly Pond Baptist Church, the Revs. Horace Hall, Tom Williams and Tom Jacobs officiating, with burial in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Mr. Britt died Friday, Sept. 27 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born July 9, 1923 in Cullman County to the Rev. William Thomas and Grace Chester Britt. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Fleet during World War II. While there he served on the USS Haerlwood, USS Earl B. Hall and the USS Medusa. He returned to Cullman County where he farmed, was a bus driver for 20 years, and was founder of Britt Septic Tank in Hanceville (from 1978 until 2001). Mr. Britt was also a member of Holly Pond Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thessel Ayers Britt; and three children, Brenda Sue Britt, an infant daughter; and an infant son.
Survivors include two sons, Randy (Brenda) Britt of Eva and Tommy (Vera) Britt of Hanceville; two brothers, Max (Thelma) Britt and Francis (Onice) Smith, both of Blount County; two sisters-in-law, Duell Ayers and Audrey Little, both of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Nikki (Scott) Tankersley of Birmingham, Jennifer Britt of Eva, Melissa (Adam) Skipper, Lindsay (Jeff) Brannon, Wesley Britt, Taylor Britt, Justin Britt, all of Hanceville; and six great-grandchildren, Shayna Britt, Skylar Tankersley, Kaitlyn Brannon, Hunter Brannon, Kayley Hall, and Aubree Skipper.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Rondale Montgomery of Bessemer; a daughter, Tracie (Cliff) Reed of West Blockton; two sisters, Annette Elrod Yates of Holly Pond and Jeanette Elrod Berry of Berlin; and a granddaughter, Jordan Reed of West Blockton.

Ms. Akers died Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Ft. Worth. She was born in Marshall County on Jan. 26, 1961. She was a member of Redan Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Doyle; and two brothers, Jerry and Larry Butts.
Survivors include her father, Durward Butts; two sons, Tommy and Andy Barton; daughter, Susan Barton; and one sister, Brenda Butts all of Holly Pond.

Mr. Barwick died Thursday, Sept. 26 at his residence. He was born in Royal in Blount County to Jasper Franlkin and Sarah Rebecca Meggison Barwick. He was a retired farmer and a member of Redan Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Taska Izona Yates Barwick.
Survivors include his daughter, Thelma M. Woods of Blountsville; four grandchildren, Bonnie Jean Woods of Blountsville, Ellen D. Chappel of Missouri, Carl R. Woods of South Haven, Miss., Melvin L. Woods of Cartersville, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Obie Lawrence.
Survivors include his brother, Troy Lawrence; and six sisters, Louise Harris, Kathleen Gregory, Ozelle (Ken) Shaw, Imagene Gregory, Earline Huff and Thelene Chandler.
