Clarence Perry

Funeral services for Clarence Perry, 88, of Cullman will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, the Rev. Ray Lathem officiating, with burial in Welti Presbyterian Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Perry died Monday, Oct. 21 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 11, 1914. He was a construction worker.

Survivors include five sons, Eugene Perry of Decatur, W.D. Perry, Joe Perry and Randy Perry all of Cullman, Glen Perry of Price ville; a step-son, Ted Hardison of Illinois; two daughters, Stella Bozeman of Cullman, Melba Palys of Hanceville; a step-daughter, Revena Lundy of Summerville; a sister, Marie Rowley of Decatur, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.

Robert Elliott

Funeral services for Robert Elliott, 68, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, Greg Begemann officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Elliott died Sunday, Oct. 20 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born in Alabama on Sept. 25, 1934 to Joseph and Annie Vera Stanley Elliott. He was a construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his special friends, Ann Gosa, Randy Gosa and Delane Gosa; one brother, Odis Elliott; and one sister, Ola Mae Evans.

Visitation was Monday.

Norma Lou Williams

Funeral services for Norma Lou Williams, 70, of Bremen were Monday, Oct. 21, 2002 at Ryan’s Creek Baptist Church, the Rev. Ron Foshee officiating, with burial in Memory Gardens in Mobile.

Hanceville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williams died Friday, Oct. 18 in Cullman. She was born in Joplin, Mo. on Oct. 26, 1931 to Vernon Kenneth and Helen Florence Llewelyn Watson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John D. Williams.

Survivors include two daughters, Angela (David) Bexley of Bremen and Helen (Tim) Newcomb of Mobile; and an uncle, Richard McCumber of Sumiton.

Susan Alley

Funeral services for Susan Alley, 56, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Ron Foshee officiating, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Alley died Monday, Oct. 21 at Hanceville. She was born in Miami on March 28, 1946 to Jesse Edward and Susie Luscinda Brown Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald L. Alley of Hanceville; three daughters, Melinda Alley and Hollie Randolph of Hanceville, Tabatha (Brian) Turley of Kimberly; three sisters, Dawn Cook of Cullman, Claudette Murphree of Virginia and Elaine Willingham of Cullman; a brother, James Turner of Good Hope; and five grandchildren, Allie Randolph and Erin Randolph of Hanceville, Brett Turley, Dalton Turley and Kyleigh Turley of Kimberly.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

William Casey ‘Bill’ Myrick Jr.

Funeral services for William Casey “Bill” Myrick Jr., 72, of Dora will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002 at New Horizon Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Doug Tate officiating, with burial in Good Hope Cemetery.

New Horizon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Myrick died Sunday, Oct. 20 at his residence. He was a retired mechanic, a retired Birmingham news carrier and a member of the Teamster’s Union Local No. 612.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Myrick.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy (Sammy) Goggins of Sumiton; a son, John Paul Myrick of Crane Hill; two step-children, Greg (Melessa) Holt of Trussville and Michael (Kim) Masterson of Town Creek; four grandchildren, Jason and Bill Goggins and Alex and Anna Grace Masterson; and special friend, Michael Bates of Crane Hill.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Morris Erwin Netherton

Graveside services for Morris Erwin Netherton, 46, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002 at Netherton Cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Netherton died Saturday, Oct. 19 at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Netherton; his mother, Nomal Netherton; two daughters-in-law, Sharlene Netherton and Angela Netherton; two step-daughters, Amanda Mosely and Amie Kimbril; two sons, Micah Netherton and Jason Netherton; a son-in-law, Bill Mosley; a sister, Derenda Tuggle; a brother, Steven Omar Netherton; grandparents, Bernist Carden and Edna Carden; and three grandchildren, all of Cullman.

Terry O’Dell Burns
Funeral services for Terry O’Dell Burns, 48, of Hanceville will be at noon Thursday, Oct. 24 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating, with burial in Laodicea Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Burns died Monday, Oct. 21. He was born in Cullman on Jan. 11, 1954 to James O. “Jack” Sr. and Margaret Nichols Burns. He worked in the maintenance department at Wallace State College.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and his brother, Jerry O. Burns.

Survivors include his son, Jonathan Burns of Ashville, N.C.; his father; a brother, James O. Burns Jr. of Cullman; and two sisters, Jeraldine Jackson of Cullman and Elaine Marcotte of Cottonwood, Fla.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elsie Leigh Williamson
Memorial services for Elsie Leigh Williamson, 77, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Donald Deekman officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williamson died Saturday, Oct. 19, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1925 in Raceland, La., to Arthur and Edna Simpson Brock. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cullman Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Frank L. Williamson of Cullman; three sons, James H. Rester III of Texas, Matthew Brock Kelley of North Carolina and Michael Lee Kelley of Florida; a daughter, Donna Rester O’Meara of Alabama; two grandchildren, Michelle Fairbanks of Adairsville, Ga. and Stephanie Bartlett of Albertville; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Bartlett and Zacary Bartlett.

Nellie Ruth Young

Funeral services for Nellie Ruth Young, 77, of Blountsville were Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002 at Mountain Grove Baptist Church, the Revs. Randy Burtram and Jerry Hackney officiating, with burial in South Cemetery.

Blountsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Young died Monday, Oct. 21 at Beverly Health Care in Oneonta. She was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas and Julia Lee Carson Frachiseur; three brothers, Fred, Bruce and Edgar Frachiseur; and three sisters, Eva J. Debter, Julette White, and Mary Ratliff.

Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Young of Blountsville; a son, Rickie (Shirley) Young of Oneonta; and a sister, Ollie Richardson of Boaz.

Robert F. Kress
Funeral services for Robert F. Kress, 71, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Harold Hermetz officiating, with burial in Cullman Heritage Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kress died Thursday, Oct. 24. He was born March 18, 1931 in Cullman County to George and Mary Michkelfelder Kress. He was a farmer and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Koren War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Clara Howard.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Caudle Kress of Cullman; two sons, Kerry Kress, Brian (Pam) Kress and Allan Kress of Cullman; two brothers, William (Charlotte) Kress and Albert (Odell) Kress of Cullman; a sister, Frieda Bonds of Cullman; and two grandchildren, Travis Kress and Erin Kress.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thomas Brown

Funeral services for Thomas Brown, 77, of Arley will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2002 at Liberty Baptist Church, Jerry Parris and Raymond Baker officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Levean Brown of Arley; two daughters, Wanda Reese of Arley and Susan Thrasher of Holly Pond; seven sons, Aaron Brown, Clifton, Clayton, Allen, Kennith, Lee, and Ron, all of Arley; a sister, Beatrice Byrd of Arley; and 10 grandchildren.

Jimmie Sue Eady
Funeral services for Jimmie Sue Eady, 72, of Logan will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Eady died Friday, Oct. 25 at BMC Princeton in Jefferson County. She was born in Alabama on July 8, 1930 to Elsberry H. and Bertha Mae Vickery Guthery. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Randy (Pat) Eady; a daughter, Henrietta Vaught; three sisters, Ruth Harbison, Lorene Nixon and Faye Morris; and three grandchildren, Isaac Eady, Michael Vaught and Chad Bailey.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Sunday.
