Robert Dilone Burnett
Services for Robert Dilone Burnett, 62, of Decatur were Monday, Dec. 10, 2001 at Roselawn Chapel, the Rev. David Rollins officiating, with burial in the Decatur city cemetery.
Roselawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burnett died Saturday, Dec. 8 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1939 in Baileyton to Lewis and Carol Dean Bell Burnett. He was a training supervisor at 3M (OSHA) for 40 years, having retired in May of this year.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Sanderson Burnett of Decatur; two daughters, Tracie Burnett of Louisville, Ky. and Colette Burnett of Cullman; a stepdaughter, Viva Teal of Decatur; a stepson, Geno Teal of Decatur; his mother; three sisters, Elaine Eddleman and Rebecca Benton, both of Eva, Louise Means of Nashville, Tenn.; and two brothers, Don Burnett of Pensacola, Fla. and Richard Burnett of Baileyton.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at 915 Franklin St., Huntsville, Ala. 35801 a favorite charity.
Visitation was Monday.
James Lewis Graves Jr.
Services for James Lewis Graves Jr., 68, of Arley were Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001 at Nichols Chapel, David McDonald and Larry Joe Stallings officiating, with burial in Enmonfield Cemetery.

Mr. Graves died Friday, Dec. 7 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Graves; two sons, Jimmy Graves of Arley and Terrell Tidwell of Helicon; two daughters, Tammy Shoemaker of Blountsville and Terrie James of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; three brothers, William Graves of Tennessee, Paul Graves of Vinemont and Earl Graves of Cullman; and two sisters, Lucille McClendon and Alene Cook, both of Cullman.
Clayton R. Shaw
Services for Clayton R. Shaw, 93, of Blountsville will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001 at Blountsville Funeral Home Chapel, Dennis Martin, George Gravitte, Joe Gamble officiating. Mason graveside services will be held at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Shaw died Sunday, Dec. 9 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Reeder, N.D. on March 14, 1908 to William J. and Martha E. Huggett Shaw. He was a retired commercial fish buyer for New England Fish Company, a member of Blountsville Methodist Church and a life member of San Juan Lodge No. 175, F.&A.M. in Friday Harbor, Wash.
Survivors include his wife, Eva E. Dingler Shaw of Blountsville; and one son, Edward D. Nygren of Citrus Heights, Calif.
Pallbearers will be Harold Ingram, Sydney Martin, Jerry Bullard, Jeff Bullard and Robert Bullard.
Lena James Martin
Services for Lena James Lockwood Martin, 89, of Eva will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Guy Hunt and Sammy Caudle officiating, with burial in Gum Pond Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m.

She died Nov. 24 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born March 27, 1912 in Morgan County, the daughter of Abraham and Lillie Ryan. She was a teacher in the Morgan County schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jude Martin.
Mrs. Martin is survived by a son, Julius Carroll “Buddy” Martin of Eva; a daughter, Sandra Jane “Jerry” Driver of Rowlett, Texas; six grandchildren, Paula (Lee) Austin of Madison, Steven (Jennifer) Driver of Indiana, Nick Martin of Eva, Adrian (Carol) Driver of Michigan, Sandra (Ryan) Coutts of Texas and Carey Martin of Birmingham; two great-grandchildren, Katherine and Garrett.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Mullice Dorothea Phillips Day
Services for Mullice Dorothea Phillips Day, 86, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at Moss Service Chapel, Dr. Elmer Nielsen and Dr. Edwin Hayes officiating, with burial in Good Hope Cemetery.

She died Nov. 26 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair. She was born April 27, 1915. She was a homemaker and retired nurse from Cullman Medical Center. She was also active in genealogy and the Cullman County Historical Society. She was a long-time member of Cullman First Baptist Church and was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Ann A. and Malcolm Phillips; her husband, Gilbert Andrew Day; two sons, Darwin D. Day and Leland G. Day; a brother, Harold M. Phillips; two sisters, Mildred Perdue and Hazel Blalock.
Mrs. Day is survived by two sons, Dr. Bruce Edward Day of Hendersonville, Tenn.,and Steven Malcolm Day of Vinemont; a daughter, Melinda Day Hunt of Good Hope; a sister, Willene Sinyard Franklin of Good Hope; four grandchildren, Daniel J. Hunt of Good Hope, Joshua Day of Vinemont and Amy J. Day and David Andrew Day, both of Nashville; six nephews; and five nieces.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart Association or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today.
Florence Bradley
Services for Florence Bradley, 83, of Holly Pond were Monday, Nov. 26, 2001 at New Home Baptist Church, Carter Banister and David Stancil officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Bradley died Saturday, Nov. 24 at Marshall Medical Center North. She was born Jan. 11, 1918 in Cullman County to B.U. and Florence Parker Gandy. She was a homemaker and member of New Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelby Jean (Junior) Bailey and Charlene (Larry) Saint, both of Holly Pond; a sister, Hazel Crutchfield of Vinemont; a brother, Dewitt Gandy of Birmingham; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Thomas McGough
Services for Thomas McGough, 95, of Florence will be Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Elkins Funeral Home in Florence is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McGough died Saturday, Nov. 24 at Victorian Manor in Hanceville. He had previously resided in Benedictine Manor in Cullman. He was born in Birmingham on June 28, 1906 to Thomas Aloysius and Nell White McGough.
After graduating from St. Bernard Prep School in Cullman in 1923, he worked in his father’s bakery. He later sold bakery equipment for Century Machine Co. from a base in Pittsburgh.
In 1939 he married an Englishwoman, Lynn Lacey, who was living in Pittsburgh. He spent the next two years learning the baking business while working in his father’s plants in Hattiesburg, Miss., and Birmingham.In 1941 he bought a storefront bakery in Florence, which became his home for the next 50 years.
In the early 1950s he opened Southern Frigid Dough, whch made frozen rolls, bread, fruit pies and meat pies. After that business merged with Jesse Jewell Co. of Gainesville, Fla., he continued as manager of both operations. He retired for several years and in the early 1960s went into the real estate business as a home builder and one of the developers of the English Village Shopping Center.
Mr. McGough was active in the Catholic Church and civic affairs. In the mid-1940s he was instrumental in helping to raise money for a new classroom building with modern kitchen for St. Joseph Parish School in Florence. He was on the baord of trustees for St. Bernard College, and Pope XXIII made him a Knight of St. Gregory.
Mr. McGough was president of the Rotary Club and a member of the first board of directors of Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Lacey (Carolyn Bruninga) McGough of Conyers, Ga.; a daughter, Mary Lynn (Wray) Eckl of Atlanta; his brother, William Patrick McGough of Birmingham; and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Joseph Matthew McGough of Montgomery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Dowd Eckl, Shannon Lee McCormick, Joseph Matthew McGough, William Patrick McGough, Thomas Hurley McGough, Kevin Michael McGough, Thomas McGough King, Henry Blank, Wesley F. Patton Jr., Byron B. Bower, John M. Henry and Christopher Edward Eckl.

Services for Peggy M. Branch, 64, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2001 at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church, Father Kevin McGrath officiating, with burial in Sacred Hearth Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Branch died Friday, Nov. 23 at her residence. She was born March 2, 1937 to Troy S. and Clara Morris Morrow. She was a retired school teacher from the Cullman City School system.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Clark Branch Jr.; two sons, Chuck (Elisabeth) Branch of Birmingham, Danny (Shelly) Branch of Cullman; daughter, Beth Branch Knight of Cullman; and nine grandchildren, Charles, Christopher, Hunter and Janie Branch, Jessie, Abbie and Branch Knight, and Brittany and Mary Clark Branch.
