Funeral services for Emanuel Edward Allison, 77, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Paul Rivers and Floyd Cline officiating, with burial in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Allison died Wednesday, Nov. 6 at his residence. He was born in Cullman on July 19, 1925 to James L. and Barbara Miller Allison. He was a member of Hopewell Road Church of God in Hanceville and was a retired crane operator for Chicago Bridge in Birmingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Dewitt Allison, Ethridge Allison and Raymond Allison.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jones Allison of Cullman; two sons, Lewis Allison of Hartselle and Robert (Brenda) Allison of Cullman; and five grandchildren, Adam Allison, Daniel Allison, Heather Allison, Misti Allison and Pam Allison.
Visitation was Thursday.
Jerry Roberts
Graveside services for Jerry Roberts, 63, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 at Fairview West Cemetery, Tim Dubberly officiating.

Mrs. Roberts died Wednesday, Nov. 6 at her residence. She was born July 18, 1939 in Louisville, Ky. to Sedrick and Ruby Morton Moore. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, John F. Roberts of Cullman; five sons, Sonny Harris, Clayton Harris and Marshall Harris, all of Cullman, Hoyt Roberts of Hanceville and Keith Harris of Tacoma, Wash.; a daughter, Clorinda Martin of Toledo, Ohio; a brother, Larry Sharp; a sister, Rita Sharp; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

James Ward Loggins
Funeral services for James Ward Loggins, 77, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 at Roselawn Chapel, the Rev. Fay Tippett officiating, with burial in Red Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Loggins died Monday, Nov. 4. He was born Aug. 23, 1925 in Athens to Jim West and Bertha Mae Turner Loggins. He was a barber and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marlene Loggins.
Survivors include two daughters, Faith White of Cullman and Sherry Loggins of Decatur; a son, Eddie Loggins of Texas; two brothers, Billy Loggins of Huntsville and Wiley Loggins of Hawaii; a sister, Peggy Boucharp of Atlanta, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Skinner, Charlie White, Heath White, Bobby Hurley, Ricky Martin, Allen Carter and Jimmie Ballew.
Visitation was Thursday.
Geneva Maricle Isbell

Mrs. Isbell died Thursday, Nov. 7 at her residence. She was a former nurses aide at Alcorn Health & Rehab. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church and of the Eastern Star of Burnsville, Miss..
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Climmie Newton Phillips; husband, J.R. “Dude” Maricle; children, Franklin Maricle, Louise Maricle, Bonnie Credille; brother, Melvin Phillips; and sister, Lou Ella Knott.

Mrs. Banister died Thursday, Nov. 7 at her residence. She was born in Cullman on July 23, 1926 to the Rev. George Henry and Ida Bell Scott Pitts. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Banister; daughter, Maxine Banister; brother, Marvin Pitts; and three sisters, Margret Hadley, Mandy Brummit, Anna Bell Holmes.
Survivors include her son, Curtis Mike (Sherry) Banister; two daughters, Glenda (Billy) Barnes, Patsy (Ernie) Walker; brother, Oscar Pitts; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and very special niece, Wanda Jones.

Mr. Monk died Friday, Nov. 8 at his residence. He was born in Morgan County on Jan. 2, 1927 to Harvey and Rushie Tennyson Monk. He was the retired founder of Monks Carpet.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Woodrow E. Monk; and sister, Doris Foster .
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Marrell Monk of Vinemont; two sons, Richard Van (Joyce) Monk, Ronald William Monk both of Vinemont; one daughter, Shelila (Jerry) Foster of Falkville; brother, Willard W. John Estes Echols
Funeral services for John Estes Echols, 59, of Arab were Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 at Gober Funeral Chapel, Melvin Brown officiating, with burial in Arab Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Echols died Saturday, Nov. 9 at Marshall Medical Center North. He was born in Cullman on Nov. 14, 1942 to James A. and Alma Willis Echols. He was a production worker at Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Echols of Arab; two sons, Wayne Echols of Arab and Brian Echols of Guntersville; two brothers, Robert Echols of Snead and Ricky Echols of Arab; a sister, Shirley Arrington of Joppa; and four grandchildren, Kris, Branden, Jonathan and Ashley Echols.
Pallbearers will be Tony Echols, Dirk Echols, Kevin Echols, Danny Arrington, Johnny Arrington, Bruce Weaver, Tommy Plunkett and Shawn Franklin.
Newton Eldridge Barnes, Jr.
Funeral services for Newton Eldridge Barnes Jr., 95, of Gadsden will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, Dr. Richard Trader and the Rev. James Jordan officiating, with burial in Forrest Cemetery.

Mr. Barnes died Sunday, Nov. 10. He was born June 10, 1907 in Floyd County, Ga.. Living most of his life in north Alabama, he was a Life Deacon at Twelfth Street Baptist Church, where he was a member for over 65 years. He was a 1925 graduate of Gadsden High School, and had retired from Sears after several decades as a manager there. In later years he provided transportation for the elderly in Etowah County through a program administered by Gadsden State Community College.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton E. Sr. and Elizabeth Blair Barnes; a brother, Charles D. (Neva) Barnes; a sister, Ann Barnes (Tom) Stephens; and a daughter, Mary Grace “Sissy” (Lynn) Barnes Matthews.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Sarah Roach “Miss Dink” Barnes of Gadsden; a daughter, Bonnie Barnes (Stan) Voit of Cullman; a son, Ben B. (Elba) Barnes of Florence; four grandsons, Douglas H. (Angela) Barnes of Madison, Rev. Scott D. (Hillarie) Matthews of Lovelady, Texas, Randall L. (Laura) Matthews of Grapevine, Texas, and Kit S. Voit of Cullman; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle Ann Barnes, Samuel Lewis Barnes of Madison and David Truett Matthews of Lovelady, Texas.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of second hall at Gadsden Health Care, and his church family.

Jimmy Don Chumley
Funeral services for Jimmy Don Chumley, 47, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Dr. Jeff Nobblett officiating, with burial in Cedartree Cemetery in Hackleburg.

Mr. Chumley died Friday, Nov. 10. He was born Sept. 11, 1955 in Cullman. He was an auto body technician for Dynasty Boats and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Calvin Chumley.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Gardner Chumley of Cherokee; his mother, Willadean Yates of Cullman; a step-son, Ben Duncan of Tuscaloosa; a daughter, Kayla Courington of Jasper; four brothers, Lowell Chumley and Keith Chumley of Cullman, Billy Chumley and Roger Chumley of Hanceville; and two sisters, Kathy Holmes and Susan Chism of Cullman.
Visitation was Tuesday.
