Lloyd D. Powell
Services for Lloyd D. Powell, 72, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Bradford officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.
Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Powell died Friday, Nov. 23 at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 29, 1929 to Raymond and Lizzie Hardin Powell. He was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Johnson Powell of Cullman; three sons, Lachlan (Cheri) Powell, Leland Powell, Lindin (Michel) Powell all of Cullman; two brothers, Charles Edward (Ruby) Powell of Cullman, Thurman Ray Powell of Huntsville; and two grandchildren, Lee Powell, Steven Powell both of Cullman.
Visitation was Saturday.
Lena Jane Martin
Services for Lena Jane Martin, 89, of Eva will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001 at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Martin died Saturday, Nov. 24 at Huntsville Hospital.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Helen C. Benton
Services for Helen C. Benton, 79, of Montgomery were held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001 at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Dr. Greg Belser officiating, with burial in Green wood Cemetery.
Leak-Memory Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Benton died Wednesday, Nov. 21 in a Montgomery hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Benton.
Survivors include two sons, Donald E. Hoover of Wetumpka and Dr. Jim (Deborah) Hoover; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Hoover, Jacquelyn Hoover and Barrett Hoover, all of Cullman.
Florence Elizabeth Hollingsworth
Services for Florence Elizabeth Hollingsworth, 99, of Cullman were held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001 at Arab Memorial Chapel, Bobby Dunn officiating, with burial in Forrest Home Methodist Church Cemetery in Boaz.
Arab Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hollingsworth died Thursday, Nov. 22 at her residence. She was born in Gainsville, Ga. on Sept. 2, 1902 to John W. and Sara Frances Gee Baird. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Oscar Hollingsworth.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary H. Clark of Oneonta, Clara Hollingsworth of Cullman; brother, John Hubert Baird of Boaz; sister, Nelda Pounds of Boaz, sister-in-law, Sue Cooke of Boaz; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Bertha Odell Bryant
Services for Bertha Odell Bryant, 92, of Arab, formerly of Cullman, will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 at Arab Memorial Chapel with burial in New Home Cemetery.

Mrs. Bryant died Friday, Nov. 23 at Beverly Health Care. She was born in Alabama on Dec. 6, 1908 to Joe and Nancy Lou Hayes Willingham. She was a homemaker and member of Fairview Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Bryant of Morgan City; two daughters, Geneva Thrower of Holly Pond, Sue Busbey of Arab; a step-sister, Vera Mae Haney of Cullman; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one step-grandson; and one step-great-grandson.

Services for Vetress Millwood, 80, of Blountsville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 at Blountsville Funeral Home Chapel, Glenn Elrod and Daryl Holt officiating, with burial in Rock Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Millwood died Friday, Nov. 23 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born in Horton to E.H. and Frances Hudson Holder. She was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Lelton Millwood of Blountsville; son, James Millwood of Blountsville; and four sisters, Sue Holt of Pinson, Thelma Britt, Ethelene Holder, Jan Kiser all of Blountsville.
Jackson Woodrow ‘Doc’ Hendrix
Services for Jackson Woodrow “Doc” Hendrix, 79, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Hanceville Assembly of God Church. The Revs. Frank Butts, Jim Laney and Cliff Hendrix will officiate, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He wil lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
He died Nov. 22 at his residence. Mr. Hendrix was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Phil Campbell to James E. and Wilma England Hendrix.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hendrix of Hanceville; three sons, James (Elvira) Hendrix of Prospect, Tenn., Clifford (Diane) Hendrix of Panama City, Fla., and Jack (Ann) Hendrix of Coots, N.C.; a daughter, Pamela (Craig) Mace of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Youvonne Craton of Birmingham; eight grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lula Belle Sims
Services for Lula Belle Sims, 79, of Cullman wll be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest, Miss., with burial in Sims Cemetery in Morton, Miss.

She died Nov. 21 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born April 8, 1922 in Scott County, Miss. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her parents, Jeremiah Thomas and Stella Horn Jones; and her husband, Charles Edwin Sims.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Ray Sims of Jackson, Miss., and Jimmy Joe (Jennifer) Sims of West Plaines, Mo.; a daughter, Wanda (Douglas) Cole of Cullman; two sisters, Grace Faulkner of Forest, Miss., and Helen Dudley of Meridian, Miss.; eight grandchildren;and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Thursday.
Linda Gail Tyree
Services for Linda Gail Tyree, 52, of Addison were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001 at Addison Church of God, with burial in Wilkins Cemetery Cemetery with Larry Wooten officiating..

Ms. Tyree died Monday, Nov. 19 at her residence.
Survivors include two sons; Kevin Tyree and Kyle Tyree, both of Addison; two daughters, Tomika Woods of Vinemont and Bridgett Tyree of Addison; brother, Dewayne Wilkins of Addison; two sisters, Judy Willingham of Mt. Vernon and Denise Morgan of Addison; grandmother Annie Moore of Addison and six grandchildren.
Ada Ellaweise Hancock
A memorial service for Ada Ellaweise Hancock, 64, of Logan will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2001 at Harmony Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hancock died Wednesday, Nov. 28 at her residence. She was born Dec. 2, 1936. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Hancock; and son, Robert Byron Hancock.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Terrell (Rita) Hancock; daughter-in-law, Karen Hancock; three daughters, Jan (Craig) Duke, Joy (Benny) Peak, Rhonda (Wayne) Wagner; two sisters, Mrs. Leo Swann, Mrs. Rosezette Shaw; and 10 grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
