Funeral services for Sherry Michelle Blackwood Free, 30, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002 at Nichols Chapel, Roger Hood officiating, with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Helican.

Mrs. Free died Thursday, Dec. 12 at her residence.
Survivors include her father, O’Neal Blackwood of Crane Hill; her mother, Thelma Woodard of Vinemont; her husband, Wendell Joe Free of Falkville; a son, Patrick O’Neal Clowers of Vinemont; two daughters, Brianne Hope Clowers and Kristen Marie Cutlip, both of Vinemont; a stepson, Zack Free of Falkville; two stepdaughters, Sheena Free and Nickey Free of Falkville; two sisters, Christina Ann Freeman of Decatur and Tracy Denise Kennemur of Vinemont; three nephews, James Micheal Freeman, Jacob Neal Auston and Tyler Lanier Kennemur; two nieces, Melissa Diane Freeman and Cassandra Hope Tolbert; and her grandmother, Tressie Baker Woodard.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the chapel.
Robert Darrell Smith
Funeral services for Robert Darrell Smith, 56, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, Gary Waddell officiating, with burial in Bethel Cemetery in Morgan County.

Mr. Smith died Friday, Dec. 13 at Folsom Center. He was born in Cullman County on June 23, 1946 to Norman and Ailene Graham Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Norma Lee Smith.
Survivors include two brothers, Harold (Barbara) Smith of Cullman, Gerald Smith; two sisters, Hilda Vance, Sherald (Jeff) Thomas, both of Cullman; and eight nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Leonard Bernard Adams III
Funeral services for Leonard Bernard Adams III, 35, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, Fr. Kevin McGrath officiating, with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Adams died Thursday, Dec. 12 in Valdosta, Ga. He was born Dec. 18, 1966. He was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1991.
Survivors include his father, Leonard Bernard Adams II of Cullman; mother, Nikki Pollans of Charlotte, S.C.; three brothers, J.J. (Dana) Adams, Shad (Regina) Adams, Zackary (Linda) Link; two sisters, Beth Adams, Brandi (Ben) Janssen; step-mother, Sheila Adams; and grandmothers, Esteen Jones, Tennie Hale.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. today with a rosary service at 6 p.m.
Frances W. Martin
Celebration of life services for Frances W. Martin, 88, of Talladega will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Northside Baptist Church, with Rev. Ben Edmondson, Rev. Mike Jones and Rev. Lowell Ledbetter officiating, with burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Martin died Dec. 13 at her residence in Cullman.
She was preceded in death by her husband W.P. Martin. She was a native of Talladega County. She retired from Belk’s department store in Talladega. She was a long-time member of North Side Baptist Church, where she was in charge of the nursery for many years.
Survivors include her son, James (Gail) Lawrence Martin of Talladega; three daughters, Phyliss (Andrew) Todd of Talladega, Linda (Tom) Wood of Cullman, Betty (Don) Carpenter of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Pearl Parton of Talladega, Ann Cosby of Talladega, Reba Sanders of Talladega, Margaret Mangam of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, noon to 2 p.m.
Bervil E. Freeman
Funeral services for Bervil E. Freeman, 83, of Bremen were Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, with burial in Johnson Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Freeman died Sunday, Dec. 15 at Cullman Long Term Care. He was born Nov. 14, 1919 to George and Martha Calvert Freeman. He was a steel worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Freeman; a son, Larry (Gail) Freeman; a daughter, Viva Nell (Huey) Clements; a brother, Wesley Freeman; a sister, Vaylene Wiliams; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three stepchildren, Brenda Varner, Linda Darden and Richard Cushmen.
Visitation was Sunday.
George Ervin Mayhall
Funeral services for George Ervin Mayhall, 76, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, the Revs. Bob Kurtz and Frank Butts officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mr. Mayhall died Saturday, Dec. 14 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1926 to William Walker and Myrtie Blair Mayhall. He was a postal clerk and a member of St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church. He was a veteran of the Korean war.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, George Everett Mayhall; and a brother, Ase Henry Mayhall.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Grace Heinl Mayhall; two sons, August Mayhall of Holloman A.F.B., New Mexico and Robert David Mayhall of Cullman; two daughters, Rachel Marie Mayhall and Lisa Mayhall Uselton of Cullman; a brother, William Walker Mayhall Jr. of Huntsville; four sisters, Dovie Myrtle Smith of Marrion, Helen Frances Huffstutler and Wanda Gail Whatley, both of Cullman, and Mary Sue Reid of Good Hope; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Martie Whatley, Doug Whatley, Bill Reid, Edward Lindsey, Winfred Huffstutler and Harold Huffstutler.

Mary Elizabeth Evers Humpl

Mrs. Humpl died Sunday, Dec. 15 at Woodland Medical Health Care. She was born July 7, 1911 in Cullman to William Henry and Molly Mueller Evers. She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Humpl and her husband, Frank J. “Red” Humpl, together with her brother, Jack Evers, were co-founders of Evers-Humpl Plumbing and Heating Co., which began business in 1947. She worked as bookkeeper for the business for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and four brothers, Herman, Bill, Chris, and Otto Evers.
Survivors include a brother, C.E. “Jack” Evers of Cullman; two nieces, Edna Evers (Jimmy) Caretti of Cullman and Jo Ann Humpl (Dutch) Maxwell of Florence; five nephews, Herman (Sandra) Evers of Birmingham, Robert (Joy) Evers of Lutz, Fla., Richard (Doris) Evers of Cullman, Jon (Linda) Evers of Yorba Linda, Calif., Steve (Babs) Evers of Gretna, La.; and two sisters-in-law, Maggie Evers of Big River, Calif. and Gladys Evers of Foley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Roof and Steeple Fund.
Pallbearers will be Jim Caretti, Joe Caretti, Richard Caretti, Sam Evers, Don Kusz and Phil Weissend.

Lillian Grace Sanford Huffman

Mrs. Huffman died Sunday, Dec. 15 at her residence. She was born Sept. 11, 1914 in Cullman County to James Henderson and Johnnie Lou Craven Sanford. She was a homemaker and a member of the Easter Star, Cullman Chapter No. 35.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter Paul Huffman; two brothers, Arnold Keniver and Ray Sanford; and two sisters, Girdie Sanford and Lois Rackestraw.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula “Ginger” (George) McMinn of Cullman; a brother, James Dewain (Belinda) Sanford of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Kip (Suzette) McMinn of Cullman and Paul Shannon “Shane” (Renee) McMinn of Birmingham; and three great-grandchildren, Lucas McMinn, Ethan McMinn and Katherine Grace McMinn.
