Funeral services for Gladys C. Reid Baker, 91, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Revs. Jim Butts, Sherman Bailey and Doug Pitts officiating, with burial in Duck River Cemetery in Walter.

Mrs. Baker died Wednesday, Dec. 25 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born in Cullman County on March 29, 1911 to Asa and Gertrude Bice. She was a dietician at Hanceville Nursing Home for 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wilton Reid; and two husbands, Olin Reid and Elbert Baker.
Survivors include two daughters, Melba (Milton) Sinyard of Cullman and Nadine (Guy) Boatright of Gardendale; two sons, Asa H. (Frieda) Reid of Huntsville and James (Linda) Reid of Hanceville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lucy Bell Horton
Funeral services for Lucy Bell Horton, 85, of Hartselle will be at noon Friday, Dec. 27, 2002 at Williams-McCracken Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Samuel Tucker officiating, with burial in Emeus Cemetery.

Mrs. Horton died Tuesday, Dec. 24 at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born June 4, 1917 in Alabama to Samuel and Minnie McPherson Simmons. She was a seamstress at Parisian’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cordie Leon Horton; two sisters, Lorene Wren and Lois Humphrey; and four brothers, Homer, Frank, Huel and Fred Simmons.
She is survived by her sister, Ortha Ward of Falkville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon today.
Rose Etta Overton
Funeral services for Rose Etta Overton, 85, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at Fairview Baptist Church, Floyd Bradford officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Overton died Thursday, Dec. 26 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1926 in Nauvoo to Wiley and Mary Henderson Tyler. She was a homemaker and attended Eidson Chapel Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Arnold Overton; and a granddaughter, Mary Faith Whitehead.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Charlie) Whitehead of Baileyton; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Whitehead of West Point.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Miss Dunn died Sunday, Dec. 22 in Cullman. She was born Dec. 3, 1984. She was a student.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Campbell.
Survivors include her mother, JoAnn Wheeler; her father, Ricket D. Dunn; three brothers, Brandon Norris, Mark Collier and David Plunkett; a brother-in-law, William Campbell; a sister, Lisa Plunkett; her grandparents, Jason and Eva Dunn, and Dorothy Brannan; her great-grandmother, Pearl Sparks; and a nephew, Danny Uribe.

Mrs. Richardson died Monday, Dec. 23 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born March 15, 1909 to Samuel Abraham and Minnie Sewell Bradford. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two brothers, Lowell Bradford and Lewis Bradford; a sister, Verda Arrington; 15 nieces; and 11 nephews.

Michael D. Smithson
Graveside services for Michael D. Smithson, 52, of Tarrant will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Smithson died Thursday, Dec. 26. He was a 1968 graduate of Gardendale High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed at Joy Manufacturing and Clean Earth Environmental.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Essie Smithson; a brother, Haskel Smithson; grandparents, Rice and Sannie Smithson, Perry and Lucy Morrison.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Smith Smithson; two sons, Michael W. Smithson and Joseph A. Smithson; a daughter, Crystal Browning; four grandsons, Michael, Steven, Aaron and Matthew; two granddaughters, Ariel and Beth; a sister, Carolyn S. Donald Paul Quattlebaum
Graveside services for Donald Paul Quattlebaum, 71, of Cullman will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Carl Malin officiating.

Mr. Quattlebaum died Thursday, Dec. 26 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 14, 1931 in Cullman County to Jessie Leroy and Linnie Frances Morrow Quattlebaum. He was a commercial fisherman and a member of the Merchant Marines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jessie Quattlebaum.
Visitation was Friday.
Elvin Thomas Stricklin

Mr. Stricklin died Thursday, Dec. 26 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born April 17, 1921 in Cullman County to W.P. and Maudie Hurst Stricklin. He was a construction worker and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Hambrick Stricklin; two daughters, June (Ricky) McMinn and Sheila (Phil) Edwards; three stepsons, David (Phyllis) Speegle, James (Linda) Speegle and Leomery (Deborah) Speegle, all of Cullman; four brothers, Williard (Nell) Stricklin, Ervil (Joan) Stricklin, both of Cullman, Everett (Florence) Stricklin and Emmell (Mary) Stricklin, both of Indiana; three sisters, Pauline Shannon of Cullman, Lela Mae (Leon) Edwards and Irene (Ellis) Tidwell, both of Gardendale; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
