Willie Marie Hipp Alldredge

Funeral services for Willie Marie Hipp Alldredge, 91, of Blountsville were Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 at Blountsville Funeral Chapel, Drennen Alldredge and Vann Moore officiating, with burial in Rock Springs Cemetery.

Blountsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Alldredge died Sunday, Jan. 19 at Marshall Medical Center North in Guntersville. She was born in Blount County to Fletcher Wesley and Mattie Murphree Hipp. She was a homemaker and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Elmer “Rounder” Alldredge; her parents; four sisters; and five brothers, all of Blountsville.

Survivors include two sons, W.A. (Faye) Alldredge and Jerry Lee (Bettie) Alldredge; a daughter, Shirley (Howard) Grant; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Carl Alldredge, DeWayne Alldredge, Raymond Vasser, Sam Alldredge, Kevin Whitley and Jason Burnett.

Visitation was Tuesday.

Nettie Ballenger
Funeral services for Nettie Ballenger, 88, of Bremen are at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Revs. Keith Whitley and Harce Swann officiating, with burial in Arkadelphia Cemetery.

Hanceville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ballenger died Wednesday, Jan. 22 at her residence. She was born Dec. 12, 1914 in Cullman County to Richard and Lillie Pugh Day. She attended Victory Baptist Church in Cullman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Ballenger.

Survivors include five sons, A.V. (Jeanie) Ballenger, Douglas (Jeanie) Ballenger, Ervil (Earline) Ballenger, L.C. (Barbara) Ballenger and Ray (Dorothy) Ballenger, all of Bremen; her daughter, Eloise (Donnie) Knight of Fair Oaks, Ind.; two sisters, Fanny Bohannan of Georgia and Roberta Brakefield of Gardendale; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; sisters-on-law; Oma, Wimp and Birdie Day; and care-giver, Jeanie Ballenger.

Visitation is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.

Doris Ritchey Vandiver Noojin

Graveside services for Doris Ritchey Vandiver Noojin, 79, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Oak Level Cemetery, Dan Deliz officiating.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Noojin died Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 7, 1923 in Cullman County to Charles and Fannie Rakestraw Blackwelder. She was a school teacher and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Royal (Pat) Ritchey of Cullman; two grandchildren, Valorie Ritchey and Chris (Cathy) Ritchey; and a brother-in-law, Jasper (Peggy) Harris, all of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Timothy Paul ‘Tim’ Moore

Funeral services for Timothy Paul “Tim” Moore, 41, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Etha Baptist Church, Jerry Hall and Steve Fincher officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moore died Tuesday, Jan. 21 at his residence. He was born Dec. 10, 1961 in Marshall County.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Hooten Moore.

Survivors include his parents, Paul L. and Catherine Moore of Cullman; two brothers, Phillip Moore of Florida and Matthew Moore of Cullman; three sisters, Deborah Spann of Cullman, Kathy (Gary) Mabury of Tuscaloosa and Teresa (Ray) Macbain of Florida; two nieces; five nephews; two stepbrothers; and six stepsisters.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mardis Henry Tilley

Funeral services for Mardis Henry Tilley, 72, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at Moss Service Chapel, Billy Wooten officiating, with burial in Hamby’s Chapel Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tilley died Wednesday, Jan. 22 at his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1930 in Alabama to Arvil Henry and Rosie Mae Holmes Tilley. He was a diesel mechanic and a U.S. military veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Jeannette Wilson Tilley of Vinemont; three daughters, Jamie Knighton of Vinemont, Joyce Cox of Eva and Julia Smith of Baileyton; a son, Max Tilley of Falkville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Ulas Henry Ford

Funeral services for Ulas Henry Ford, 85, of Albertville, formerly of Cullman, were Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 at Adams Brown Service Chapel, Elder Kenneth Watts officiating, with burial in High Point Cemetery.

Adams Brown Service Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ford died Sunday, Jan. 19 at his residence. He was a veteran of World War II, and served in combat as chauffeur to General George Patton. His hobbies were fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Addie Ford; three brothers, Willard, Virgil and Guy R. Ford; and three sisters, Burma Grubbs, Zula Easterwood and Arvella Bates.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Davis Ford; eight nephews, Bobby and Max Easterwood of Birmingham, Larry Ford of Madison, Wayne and Jimmy Ross of Morris, Mike Ford of Georgia, Bill Ford of Prattville, Ronald Ford of Tennessee; four nieces, Nita Rodgers of Gardendale, Martha Mazzara of Cullman, Ann Watkins of Prattville, Helen Ford of Florida; and special friend, Robert Thornton of Birmingham.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Bobby Easterwood, Wayne Ross, Rodney Rodgers, Rusty Ward, Richard Ward, Shawn Davis, and James Ward.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Alacare.

Wilma I. Michael

Funeral services for Wilma I. Michael, 93, of Orange Park, Fla. will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Altman-Long Funeral Chapel, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Orlando, Fla. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Altman-Long Funeral Home and Crematory, Orange Park, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Michael died Sunday, Jan. 19 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. She was born in Cullman, resided in Arab, then moved to Florida in 1943. She was retired from residential construction and was a member of Ft. Smith Baptist Church in Deltona.

Survivors include three daughters, Eleanor Waldron of Orange Park, Fla., Ruth Lusk of Lake Wales, Fla. and Louise Michael of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, James of Lake Helen, Fla. and David of Yulee, Fla.; a sister, Frances Hanes of Arab; 24 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren.

Jack Rutherford
Funeral services for Jack Rutherford, 81, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Moss Service Chapel, Shirley Witcher and Garland Talbert officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rutherford died Thursday, Jan. 23 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1921 in Cullman County to Claude and Venious Blankenship Rutherford. Prior to returning to Cullman he lived in Birmingham and retired from the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 47 years, Maxine; a sister, Betty; and a brother, Woodrow.

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Smith; three grandchildren, Sherri Cusco, Donald Newlin and Randy Newlin; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Roe (Evelyn) Rutherford; and two sisters, Mary Sue Eubanks and Peggy Persall.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Udora Pauline Hollis

Funeral services for Udora Pauline Hollis, 91, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Hopewell Baptist Church, Trueman Davis and Dr. Elmer Nielson officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hollis died Wednesday, Jan. 22 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 7, 1911 in Cullman County to Lewis Phillip and Rossie D. Miller. She was a sales clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Gordon G. Miller, Lewis B. Miller and William Basil Miller.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Handley of Johnson Crossing; a son, Jerry Hollis of Gardendale; three sisters, Magdalene Briscoe, Savannah Addeline Miller and Dean C. Proctor, all of Cullman; a brother, James M. Miller of Cullman; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hopewell Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Maxine Griffith

Funeral services for Maxine Griffith, 69, of Hartselle will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Peck Funeral Chapel, the Revs. Clyde Goodlett and Rusty Hodges officiating, with burial in Burningtree Memorial in Decatur.

Peck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Griffith died Thursday, Jan. 23 at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Nov. 13, 1933 in Morgan County. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, General Oscar Garrison; a brother, Cecil Garrison; and two sisters, Lurlene Simpson and Martha Dobbs.

Survivors include her mother, Becky Beatrice (Elrod) Griffith; her husband, John Griffith Jr. of Hartselle; three sons, Oscar Griffith of Moulton, Mike Griffith of Falkville and Ricky Griffith of Logan; three daughters, Charlotte McReath of Hartselle, Shelia Hood of Moulton and Becky Pigg of Vinemont; a sister, Murlene Pogue of Carrilton; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Griffith, Ricky Griffith, Johnny Griffith, Dustin Griffith, Brian McReath, Lori Knox and Nick Griffith.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and sons-in-law.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
