Willie Elton Ballard
Funeral services for Willie Elton Ballard, 76, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003 at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home, John Briscoe officiating, with burial in Elvestor Cemetery in Warrior.
Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ballard died Tuesday, Jan. 14. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by wife, Wilma Ballard; a son, Ronald Ballard; a brother, Gerdis Ballard; and his parents, William E. and Doshia Ballard.
Survivors include three sons, Randy Ballard of Mt. Olive, Rodney Ballard of Pontoon Beach, Ill. and Roger Ballard of Oak Grove; two daughters, Gail Briscoe of Haleyville and Gloria Hudson of Remlap; two sisters, Genva Arrowood of Phoenix City and Ethel Wade of Mt. Olive; a brother, Bill Ballard of Warrior; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Wednesday.
Carroll Nelson Burkett
Graveside funeral services for Carroll Nelson Burkett, 72, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burkett died Tuesday, Jan. 14 at his residence. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Alabama. He was retired from BellSouth and was a past-president of Lions Club in Vestavia Hills and a charter member of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline C. Burkett; his daughter, Suzanne; two sons, Jay Burkett and Ray Burkett; and four grandchildren, David, Brian, Katie and Johnathan.
Edward Joseph Grob
Funeral services for Edward Joseph Grob, 41, of Hanceville will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fr. Kevin McGrath officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Grob died Wednesday, Jan. 15 at his residence. He was born Nov. 24, 1961. He was a machine operator in the countertop dept. at Cullman Cabinets and a member of the Friends of the Singles of North America.
Survivors include his parents, Charles and Margaret Grob of Cullman; his uncle, Joe (Ann) Grob; and a cousin, Lynn (Doug) Johnson, all of Cullman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 217 2nd St. SE, Cullman 35055.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Johnson, Joe Grob, Charlie Warnke, Danny McAfee, Charlie McBrayer, and Mike Fromhold.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today with rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Roberta Howell Crabtree
Funeral services for Roberta Howell Crabtree, 90, of Signal Mountain, Tenn. will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003 at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, with burial in Rice Town Cemetery.

Mrs. Crabtree died Wednesday, Jan. 15 at a nursing home in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was born in Cullman and attended seminary college in Louisville, Ky. She moved to Chattanooga in 1961 and joined First Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher for many years. In 1973, she and her husband opened the Kiva Company, a southwest Indian jewelry and gift store, followed by Crabtree Booksellers in 1975. She was a past president of the Women’s Business Association and most recently a member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harry Crabtree; a sister, Elizabeth Howell Paulk; and a daughter, Jane Crabtree Hudon.
Survivors include a son, Rice Crabtree; a daughter-in-law, Sally Crabtree; four granddaughters, Christa Pickett Mannarino, Sarah Kristen Crabtree, Rose Ann Crabtree of Chattanooga, Katherine Pickett Nyby of Atlanta, Ga.; a grandson, David Wayne Pickett of Chattanooga; three sisters, Evelyn Howell Sapp of Hanceville, Kathleen Howell Wallace of Benoit, Miss. and Lucille Howell Bagwell of Birmingham; and a brother, Malcolm Robert Howell of Mobile.

Euell E. Laminack
Funeral services for Euell E. Laminack, 82, of Ashville were Thursday, Jan 16, 2003 at Summerhill Baptist Church, Wayne Horton officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Laminack died Monday, Jan.13.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Laminack; and a sister, Sue Cheatham.
Survivors include six children, Joe Laminack of Mississippi, Barbara Gene White of Cullman, Shirley Lavender of Tidnal, Ga., R.C. Laminack of Calera, Janet Murphy of Ashville, and Bobby Laminack of Oneonta; a brother, Glenn Laminack of Gardendale; and two sisters, Dorothy Trammell and Alene Fulmer, both of Cullman.

Annie Elizabeth Still Bassett
Funeral services for Annie Elizabeth Still Bassett, 86, of Cullman, formerly of Roanoke, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, the Revs. Coley M. Mrs. Bassett died Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born in Randolph County on Aug. 20, 1916 to Jesse Byron and Lily Williams Still. She was a homemaker and a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church in Dothan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Guy Bassett.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Rev. Coley) Holloway of Dothan and Patricia (Eugene) Barch of Cullman; a son, Melvin Donald Bassett; two sisters, Mary Pike of Roanoke and Elsi (Herman) Beard of LaGrange; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Mr. Dunn died Thursday, Jan. 16 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born March 24, 1924 to Johnathan and Lula Graves Dunn. He was a cattle farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Dunn; three sons, John L. (Mary) Dunn, Jerry (Donna) Dunn and Brian (Lisa) Dunn; five grandchildren, Kelly Elrod, Michelle Shedd, Heather Wilhite, Tiffany Dunn, and Taylor Dunn; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. today.

Mr. Tolbert died Thursday, Jan. 16 at his residence. He was born Jan. 17, 1931 in Cullman to Roy and Mary Lou Henney Tolbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Ruth Erdell Tucker Tolbert.
Survivors include six sons, Jonathan Lynn (Christy) Tolbert, Roy (Andrea) Tolbert, Ruben (Wanda) Tolbert, Phillip (Ritha) Tolbert, Michael (Annette) Tolbert of Cullman, and Billy Wayne (Kathy) Tolbert of Michigan; two daughters, Vanessa (Greg) Crigger and Sonya Tolbert Shannon; a half-brother, Orvil Owens; a half-sister, Freda Hall, all of Cullman; 26 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Everett Arcue Gorman
Funeral services for Everett Arcue Gorman, 68, of Jasper will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Troy Puckett officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Mr. Gorman died Thursday, Jan. 16 at Baptist Medical Center in Princeton. He was born Oct. 27, 1934 in Cullman County to William Marion and Rachael Huffstutler Gorman. He was a member of the National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Chuck Gorman.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Virginia Roberts Gorman of Jasper; a son, Keith (Stephanie) Gorman of Cullman; four brothers, Dwight Gorman, Larry Gorman, Garland Gorman, and Butch Gorman; five sisters, Pernie Upchurch, Nola Hicks, Barbara Sheppard, Ruth Britten, and Judy King; and three grandchildren, Nathan Tankersly, Hannah Tankersly and Kaitlyn Gorman.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
