Ashley Wayne Harris

Funeral services for Ashley Wayne Harris, 20, of Holly Pond are at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2003, the Revs. Mike Murphree and David Harper officiating, with burial in Duck Creek Cemetery in Fairview.

Arab-Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris died Saturday, Feb. 8 on County Road 1725. He was born March 8, 1982 in Cullman County. He worked at Walker Building Supply in Baileyton and was a member of Roswell Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Cody Wayne Harris of Joppa; his father and step-mother, Darryl and Jo Harris Wayne of Joppa; his mother and step-father, Virginia Darlene and Jerry Stanley of Union Grove; three sisters, Erica Blocker of Arab, Heather Harris of Joppa and Amanda Williams of Arab; grandparents, Roger and Polly Sinyard of Holly Pond, Lonnie and Betty Harris of Holly Pond, and Ruby and Bill Allred of Joppa.

Pallbearers will be John Tucker, Barry Lindsey, Greg Henderson, Tim Walker, Jason Burgess and Kevin Walker.

Ruth Watson
Funeral services for Ruth Watson, 80, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Watson died Sunday, Feb. 9 at her residence. She was born Feb. 5, 1923 in Cullman to Columbus Grady and Gertrude Entrekin Glenn. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, James Randolph Watson and Robert Charles Watson of Cullman; a daughter, Glenda Lee Brown; three brothers, Wallace Glenn of Bessemer, Roger Glenn and Aubert Glenn; three sisters, Vonda Harbison of Birmingham, Margene Hinkle of Gardendale and Wanda Glenn of Leeds; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Vera Agnes Tilley

Funeral services for Vera Agnes Tilley, 87, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church, Mark Mayo officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tilley died Sunday, Feb. 9 at her residence. She was born Jan. 1, 1916 in Cullman to Aaron Benjamin and Ella Burks Williamson. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ether Ruel “Bill” Tilley; and a son, William Ruel Tilley.

Survivors include two sons, Ronny A. Tilley and Allen R. (Tammy) Tilley, both of Cullman; a daughter, Susan (Mike) Roper of Cullman; three grandchildren, Daniel Tilley, Joshua Sandlin and Cody Sandlin; and three step-grandchildren, Clinton Roper, Curtis Roper and Cody Thompson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Trixie Mamie Lee Bishop

Funeral services for Trixie Mamie Lee Bishop, 63, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, John Bishop and Scott Patillo officiating, with burial in Good Hope Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bishop died Sunday, Feb. 9 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 15, 1939 in Cullman to Alford Otto and Manolyar Leona Skipper Willingham. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Ferrell Bishop of Cullman; three sons, Billy R. (Brenda) Bishop, Danny Otto (special friend, Crystal Lee) Bishop and Justin Bishop, all of Cullman; three daughters, Kathy (Mike) Thomason of Vinemont, Connie (Charles) McClendon and Lisa Bishop Burleson, both of Cullman; a brother, Issac Otto Willingham of Cullman; four sisters, Opal Smith of North Carolina, Odell Nail and Eula Mae Tucker of Cullman, and Ivy Fulks of Florida; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Elige Henry Harris

Funeral services for Elige Henry Harris, 84, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Andrew Chambers and Wendell Peterson officiating, with burial in Duck River Baptist Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris died Sunday, Feb. 9 at his residence. He was born July 6, 1918 in Cleburne County to William Belton and Alice Elizabeth Henry Harris. He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Georgia Ann Harris.

Survivors include two sons, Loyd Winford (Deloa) Harris of Cullman and Thomas Jerry Harris of Holly Pond; three daughters, Alice Janette (Ed) Holmes of Boaz, Lorean (Joe) Williams and Lorea (Charles) Chapman, both of Cullman; two brothers, Willie B. Harris and Billy Harris, both of Longview, Texas; two sisters, Mattlene Garner and Betty Jean Harris, both of Georgia; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Essie V. Flippo

Funeral services for Essie V. Flippo, 87, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at Moss Service Chapel, the Rev. M. Bryant officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Flippo died Monday, Feb. 10 at Cullman Long Term Care. She was born Aug. 12, 1915 to James and Elizabeth Flanagan Pearson. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Gilbert R. Flippo.

Survivors include a son, John Harvey Pearson of Everett, Wash.; a daughter, Mary Clark of Cullman; three half-siblings, Annie Marie Campbell of Cullman, James Pearson of Kileen, Texas and Bobby Pearson of Scottsboro; three grandchildren, Beth Heaton, Emily McLendon and Matt Clark; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.

Vera Hellen Campbell

Funeral services for Vera Hellen Campbell, 65, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, Joe Cook officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Campbell died Sunday, Feb. 9 in Cullman. She was born in Cullman on Jan. 2, 1938.

She was preceded in death by her father, Grady C. Burgess.

Survivors include her mother, Alice M. Aycock Burgess of Hanceville; two sons, Mike (Pam) Campbell of Dora and Terry Wayne Campbell of Empire; seven brothers, Bobby (Barbara) Burgess, David (Vickie) Burgess, Rayburn (Wanda) Burgess all of Hanceville, Donald Burgess of Cullman, J.R. (Pat) Burgess of Ozark, Jerry (Angie) Burgess and Joe (Linda) Burgess of Cullman; five sisters, Pat Burgess, Brenda (Charlie) Duke, Barbara Sandlin and Lillie (Larry) Tucker, all of Cullman, and Rita Dingler of Hanceville;; three grandchildren, Ashley Andrews, Blair Campbell and Jessica Latrice Campbell; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Blake Andrews and Hadley Grace Andrews.

Visitation was Monday.

Alma Rollo Williams

Funeral services for Alma Rollo Williams, 87, of Bremen will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003Macedonia Baptist Church, the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating, with burial in Macedonia Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williams died Monday, Feb. 10 in Cullman. She was born in Bremen on Nov. 3, 1915 to John Jesse and Jo Amy Chambers Rollo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Williams; her parents; a granddaughter, Amy Williams; six brothers, Walter, Arthur, Ed, Amos, Eule and Kenny; and three sisters, Mary Taylor, Dora Godfrey and Ida Vandiver.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorene Nixon of Chicago, Ill. and Virginia Twilley of Hanceville; four sons, David Williams, Gale Williams, Larrice Williams and Brandon Murray, all of Bremen; a sister, Mavis Hall of Hanceville; four brothers, Delmer Rollo of Bremen, Ernie Rollo of North Carolina, Freddy Rollo and Maylon Rollo of Sipsey; a sister, Lovella Wallace of Sipsey; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Alta ‘Sis’ Dunn Wilson

Funeral services for Alta “Sis” Dunn Wilson, 80, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Buck Graves and David Stancil officiating, with burial in East Point Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson died Saturday, Feb. 8 at her residence. She was born Jan. 10, 1923 in Cullman County to Charlie and Irene Yeager Dunn. She was a member of East Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Ray Roberts; a daughter, Judy Ann McIntosh; and a brother, Everett Dunn.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Randy) Henry of Cullman; a brother, Thomas L. Dunn of Cullman; two sisters, Ina Baker of Tennessee and Faye Blankenship of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Shelley Fallin and Shane (Paula) Edge; five great-grandchildren, Shawn Fallin, Kayla Fallin, Stephanie (Bart) Abbott, Chasity (Wayne) Robertson and Chris Maynard; three great-great-grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews.

Visitation was Monday.

Herbert L. Carpenter Jr.

Funeral services for Herbert L. Carpenter Jr., 80, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carpenter died Sunday, Feb. 9 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1922 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Herbert L. Sr. and Orah Trull Carpenter. He was a 54-year associate of Greif Bros. Corporation and retired as vice president. He was also the general manager of the Riable Division of Greif Bros., Cullman Supply, and head of research of Greif Bros. Corporation and developed numerous patents. He graduated from MIT with a degree in mechanical engineering and received a degree from Harvard. He was a member of Cullman Concert Association, the Lion’s Club, the Rotary Club, and was a member of the board of Wallace State Community College. He was also a member of the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve and was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jessica Howell Carpenter; a son, Herbert L. Carpenter III; a brother, Oliver Carpenter; two sisters, Mildred McMillen and Janet Green e; and also JoAnn Graham Carpenter.

Survivors include a son, Richard H. (Phyllis) Carpenter of Lacey Springs; a daughter, Alaina Isola of North Carolina; a grandson, Joshua Stewart Carpenter; and a granddaughter, Bridget McNamara.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sabrina Eileen Powell

Funeral services for Sabrina Eileen Powell, 24, of Cullman were Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Emmett Haynes and Brian Hawkins officiating, with burial in Cullman Heritage Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Powell died Saturday, Feb. 8 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 6, 1979 in Cullman County.

Survivors include her parents, Odis Allen and Patty Powell of Cullman; two sisters, Tanya Powell and Jessica (Jared) Lumpkin of Tennessee; grandparents, Donna (Emmett) Haynes and Annis (Odis) Powell of Cullman; and a nephew, Lucas Powell.

Visitation was Sunday.
